“Honey” is a 14-year-old grade mare. She has had about 3 weeks training at the Doherty Ranch Training facility. Honey has proven to be sound minded and comfortable with tarps, flags, whips, and just about anything else we could throw at her. She has been hauled and been on several trail rides. Honey does get prancy on the trail and has a defect or a blemish to her left eye. but has shown zero a...

Here he is, the fan favorite, “Jude” aka “sexy boy”. We’ve had him since he was a long yearling and we knew right away that he was going to be a good one. He’s as level headed as they come and easy on the eyes. Jude is a just tuned 4 year old AQHA, sooty buckskin, foundation bred, gelding with beautiful deep auburn eyes. He’s got great bone(I’d call it medium-heavy), GREAT feet, UTD on everythi...

Love this… nice job!
Fark that
What year is this??
Hey, AF Vet here, I just watched your DI videos, and to be honest it is kind of weird to watch you just speak naturally, maybe I am just accustomed to watching you yell, and slaughter recruits, would absolutely love to get in contact with you to hear some stories from the trail
I was at mcrd san diego around this time. Really captures it well. I really love these guys, they're some of the most impressive people I've ever met. This intensity is really constant, they never break character. For 3 months. At first you really start thinking 1 good sucker punch on one of them would be worth the dishonorable discharge. But it turns, our senior literally told us the day it would "click" and it did. Part of that is realizing how hard these guys work. They changed my life, and I could never thank them enough.

Ah yes, nothing like a good gear party!
Love it! Puts me back in a squad bay just like this one! 😂 Platoon 2107 1997 My senior DI gave a soft speech, and said “let us train you”… And then this happened! 😂
What is the drill instructor saying at around :55 that causes the recruits to respond with "Loud!"?
OMG sir yes sir two things in this world that you can depend on, the sun is going to rise tomorrow morning and the private doesn't know

Is Doherty still alive?
Last I heard he is!
@@dohertyranch7886 Does he still yell at people?
@@jaypee389 haha. No. Not really. Just trains horses and runs a ranch.
@@dohertyranch7886 I wonder if he yells at the horses that do not listen and tells them to 'freakin listen or they are going to have to run freakin' laps. Did he go on tour to Ramadi or Fallujah?
Okay you passed the OPSEC test. Great job.
Good Ole days 😪
Yes. Quite different these days.
How do you even get a recording. I would think the Marine Corps would not allow recording of this kind of thing. It’s so difficult to get the actual of what happens in boot camp these days since the Marine Corps doesn’t want civilians to know what really happens to not scare them to join.
I just got a copy of the video. Someone else made the video.
You ever pay back Sandercock for fucking up your rifle count haha
No Way. Sandercock was a badass. Much respect.
You ever go back to kentucky. You still listen to bluegrass
Hey there!!! Went back to Kentucky for a few years but back in Arizona now. How are you doing?? How the world treating you?

Awesome. I was thankful to have daughters after i got out. They are the peace in my life. Happy easter.
Dang Doherty, do you own all that land and the Facilities??? Great Video
It isnt much. Yah thats us!
Very informative video, Thank You. I've thought about purchasing a horse, how much maintenance per day do they require? Two feedings, water, brushings, etc? We obviously don't know but will have to do further research. Thank you on advance.
Having a horse is a lot like growing your family and having a new baby. Have to feed two or three times a day mixing supplements and grains depending on the diet needs, cleaning poop 2 times a day, making their bed and adding wood shavings. Of coarse anything in the horse world like fly spray, tack, feed, vet bills, new rig like a truck and trailer are all expensive. For many horse lovers like myself, is a HUGE commitment but all well worth it.
SSgt Gomez was my Senior D.I. that looks and sounds like him. This was 20 years ago. Tomorrow is my Graduation anniversary actually.
Well it's funny now... but it wasn't then...
Hey. How’s it going!! Hit me up some time!!
The good ole days.
Totally had a wistful smile watching the horse and rider but when I saw the truck drive away oof couldn't stop the water works. Great video! Happy to see horse back with her people!
Such a wonderful mare. So excited for the owner to take her home and enjoy her AMAZING horse! Was such a great lesson horse for so many new riders at the training facility. Always hard to see them go but this one had a special place in my heart.
Acknowledge!!!!!
I need to take a trip to your Ranch
Very Nice Sean!!!!!
Thank you so much!
We love a good Black Friday 😭
Yes we do!!!
I was one of the FIRST SDI's to film a live pickup in Feb of 1996 and I had to get the Commanding Generals's approval to do so
Yah. Is pretty rare to see! Our commanding officer was pretty awesome to share with us. We edited his video to only show footage our platoon but the original captured and brings back great memories.
1,2,3,4, UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS........... OOH RAH💪🇺🇲
The fear in those kids eyes. Building body stackers! Forged out of the ashes of mount Doom!
It was easier when I went through, we had Quonset huts, not squad bays.
that fucken shit just gave me a hard on oorah brothers
Then, after all the shouting and moving around, you have to locate all your own gear and lay claim to it while everyone else is frantically searching for their stuff. Talk about a Chinese-fire-drill. We've all been through it, even our own DI's who had it done to them when they were maggots like us and again when they went through DI School.
had a drill instructor in each ear and another screaming in my face asking me inspection questions, all I could say was Marine Corps, yes sir!
PTSD triggered
PTSD is based. I like the Hyper alert part.
The last day i had a pair of socks that fit.
Can't beat the Marines!!! I married one!!

I was shell shocked the first two weeks of boot camp that I don’t remember a lot of the chaos that went on. I don’t remember this part but I know there were footlockers and other recruits crap all over the squadbay and we had to pick them all up before count down and I don’t know but somehow we all got our gears back. If you didn’t stamp your name on an item, you’re fucked.
Isn’t that the best two weeks though. Lol.
@@dohertyranch7886 lols I wouldn’t say the best, but it was a rude awakening 😳 I had a great time during mess week.
Somebody stole my stamp on week one, so I thought it would be a good idea to use a marker to mark my stuff, including my footlocker, and rack. LOL NOPE!!
@@Bryan-fd7ky better than leaving it blank 😂
@@TUFFGUNN True, true. But I still got IT'd hard when the killhat found out during field day. Then double IT'd when I told him I lost my stamp. Good times.
Now this brings back some memories, real devils
