Everything is fixed and working. Except the new “used” clutch that I got. Even installed an hour meter. Safety seat switch is in and working.
Tree Ring Part One
Просмотров 380Год назад
Removed the old metal tree ring and made a limestone block tree ring with/ concrete base. It was about five hours worth of work from start to finish. The limestone blocks cost me $15. The concrete, mortar and rebar cost me $45. Pt 2 will be longer and more in depth

Changing A side Marker Housing On A 2001 GMC Sierra
Great job love seeing a machine like this brought back to life I'm enjoying lawnmowers myself lately it's a lot of fun !! 😀🇺🇸
Would it be ok to grow stuff in the portion closer to the home wall?
My Dad Had Bought This Exact Mower Brand New In 1985. And Now 39 Years Later I’m Looking For Someone To Rebuild The Whole Thing I Don’t Want To Junk It Out. Can It Be Rebuilt?
Excellent video
do you know where the wires for the solenoid go got a new one and now i dont know the the wires go thanks
having trouble with the routing of the drive belt. Clay I had trouble with brake rod linkage. Not sure if one side of belt goes in behind this rod. The old belt blew so didn't get a good look at it first. Mine looks same as your model. My model of "hydrostatic" has the belt do a 90 degree turn and fan is on right side of the Rear diff.
I had pretty much the same mower 20 years ago and I've had to replace the spindles for the deck, the ignition coil, belts, and among other misc stuff to repair but it was a great little mower considering I had to mower at least close to 2 acres back then. It took me almost 2 hours to mow with this mower. I also had the same 11hp briggs on mine and it was awesome. Like I said earlier the only thing I had to do to it was replace the coil and change the oil on it every spring and it ran flawless.
I rebuilt the motor. Everything worked fine as far as the motor goes. But I can't seem to get the deck to go back on and the lift / lower lever to work right. Can you show step by step how to reinstall the deck? My jack sheave bearings just went out and Im not finding any good videos on that either. The bearing / post piece is JD part number M74707 . Its like a steel rod with two bearings mounted on it. I can see in the illustration the bearing end installs upward but there's a pin hole in the bottom where a cotter pin goes through the shaft... and I guess I need to dig more where to find that... wish me luck! Thanks for the video you've already done!
Great video!!! Those old mowers were made to last, not like today's plastic throw away junk. I recently reconditioned an early 90's Toro Super Recycler, reminds me of yours. I like the fact that you change the oil 2X. If I rescue an old mower I change the oil immediately with a couple of oz's of Marvel Mystery Oil, cut the grass, then change it again. MMO seems to clean out the sludge. I like your black cleaning pad with the parts diagram, and your Audi, we have similar tastes!!!!
It's way easier to put it up on a card table to work on
That looks really good
do you have any tips for tuning these older carburators? the guy u got it from rebuilt the carb and i dont know where to start on tuning the air/fuel and the needle on the bottom of the carb.
Great series. But the clutch you have is not aftermarket - the 111 came with two different types of clutches OEM - one is made by Ogura (which is what you have) and one is made by Warner (which is the replacement you bought). They are not interchangeable so if you need a new one make sure you get an Ogura replacement.
Trying to just the money spent back.
I got one. You’re a is 72 model mines a 74 model. Mine was on a Power Trim. My advise is take your time.
Looked fine once fitted. The gap was spot on.
What is the big hole under seat ? I just bought 1 and it has a tank with a lid but no idea what for
That's the most "Dolan" video ever!!
Claims court!
Did they give you money?
I’ve have the same exact model that I got going. Only thing is that the belts are so beat that they won’t turn the blades. Where might I find new belts for this model? Thanks for the video!
I had one of those. You can shift the trans with using the clutch.
Anybody know why one of these would short out?
Do you still have this 111? I have the same one, and I can't find a diagram of the drive belt routing. Curious if you have a video/photo of the underside
My 111 drive belt does a wierd flip to drive the diff from the right side and am having trouble figuring the routing and actual length. Old belt blew and was a mess. cut it off. now I am not sure if it is 78"s long or 77&1/2" or witch side of the brake linkage the bottom side of belt is supposed to run. ?? Clay
Too old unit you ve got that wasnt maintained right. 😂
I have the same model and year...my 11hp is bad. If I replace with a 17hp will the wiring be hard..especially the pto wiring?
I wouldn't think the wiring would be hard on the PTO... it's just an On/Off switch, which is nomally open / not powered. If I recall correctly, looking at my service manual, there is a relay that is controlled by the switch on the dash. But that doesn't add much complexity. I see the comment is pretty old, but if you want info from the manual just post a way I can contact you.
you're going to have to do something about that light because that's plow is going to have a problem with the light did you see where the hanger was on your John Deere it's right underneath where you put the light is where you hang the plow and the plow is going to go right in front or where the light is...
you put those lights on you'll have to make sure that your alternator can keep up with the battery your status you might have to change the stator
why don't you take that deck to your neighborhood sandblaster and then take some red primer and let him sandblast that for about 50 bucks and then spray paint it red primer right away so the moisture don't get to it
what are you talking about clutch are you talking about the electromagnet that starts the mower deck you don't have to take the motor off for that?? I paid $300 for mine and it was in great shape except for the seat I would like you to rebuild the seat ... a new one 100 bucks
I took my deck stripped it took it to a sandblaster had it all sandblasted painted it red rust primer and then painted it yellow on top....
my John Deere 111 those spindles are not the same mine are taller and the both holes are I believe are smaller radius and I don't think I have that spacer....... but I do have zerk fittings I don't know who did that that's stupid..... but they are difficult they are difficult to take apart.........
do not be stupid and try to use the zerk fitting for filling the tubes of the spindles with grease pack the bearings with grease put the shields back on and leave it alone if your bearings have no Shields be a good idea to put them on there
does any fellow 111 owners have pictures of their wiring under the dash? Im trying to figure out what kind of alternator/stator i need... thanks
I flip newer style john deere mowers and a couple weeks ago I sold a real nice la115 with a plow to a guy and he was telling me about his old john deere and that if I wanted it I could come pick it up so he didn't have to set it out by the curb. I'm a sucker for free stuff so I picked it up even tho I wasn't super interested but it runs, has a plow and new tire chains so I couldn't pass it up. I hadn't even looked this thing over until this evening and the date code on the engine is 79. The tractor looks amazing, it's a 111 and somebody has done a budget restoration on it already. I was planning on making a toy out of it but this thing it just to cool to tear up so now I think I want to do a proper restoration and have a cool vintage mower. It doesn't have a deck so I need to find one of those but I was wondering if you had an idea of what it might be worth in good running shape since you seem to have a lot of knowledge about these old models
Where did you get the foam price for the top of the air cleaner? I can't seem to find it available.
Great series man, awesome job. thanks for sharing the part numbers. 🤙
Shaft adapter on the other clutch?
Did you have to run a bigger jet ? I’m now having a problem with full throttle only it try’s to bog down
You're gonna take your leg off.
this is the best video yet - 2nd best is leveling of the side yard.
Watch out for gator's
This project turned out great.
Dog paw prints are adorable 😍
Learning to making them turn out smooth is the trick. I’m on #4 right now
Where are the palm trees 🌴
Let’s not discuss the palm trees. They got beat badly by the 13 degree weather

Looks good! Come mow our lawn!
Your husband has a key for it
Nice!
Never thought about the door sagging. The inner gaskets are loose though. 3M makes an adhesive for the auto door seals. I know a man that sealed them that way. But I'm more inclined to replace the inner one and 3M or silicone the outer one.
Looks fancy ❤️
I like it! 😊
