Welcome Model A Ford enthusiasts!
New to the Model A Ford hobby? Unsure what the old car you inherited is capable of? Afraid to leave town because you think a 90 year old car is only for parades? Do you love classic cars and enjoy historic places? Join us as we use our stock Model A to tour all over the western United States, and experience beautiful scenery and learn all about unique places.
This channel is less about, "How to repair / restore" a Model A, and more about using the funnest car ever made.
Having laid eyes on a Model A Ford for the very first time, at 17 years of the age, in the Fall of 1982. I purchased my first one in February 1983, as a senior in High School. It's been a life long obsession ever since. I currently own three Model A's (1930 Coupe, 1930 Roadster, 1930 Fordor), and have done complete restorations of two.
Come along for the ride, and experience what your car is capable of, as we visit historic places, beautiful views, and wonderful events.

The opening view of the A is great, what is the color of the car? I also didn’t realize your A is a survivor, you should do a video of the car’s history. Glad to see you back in the drivers seat.
@@Kybossls I’ll have to look up the paint color in the paint guide and get back to you. As far as the history of the car goes, I’m the third owner. Original owner had it from 1930-1940. Second owner purchased the car in 1940 as a college student, and owned the car until his death in 1998, (owned it 58 years). Second owner was a model A club member of a club I was also a member of. I was able to buy the car from his daughter upon his death. I have now owned the car for over 25 years. Mechanically the car was wore out when I purchased it, as it has always been a running car (never stored away). So I did a complete mechanical restoration on it between 2000-2003. I’ve put 24,000 miles on it since 2003.
As usual, nice footage and editing. A vicarious vacation for this viewer.

Great Video, Thanks for talking about the "less known" gems of the area, I believe I have seen you effortlessly shift into 1st gear while in motion on a couple of your video's? What vender are you getting your transmission oil from?
Hello Dave, I use the 600 weight oil from Snyder's, the real stuff not the 90 weight gear oil some vender's try to pass off. The key to downshifting is to give the accelerator a quick pop just as you shift, that'll spin the gears and equalize the speed. works for both 1st and 2nd downshifts. Thanks for watching and commenting, appreciate it. Jim & Lindy.

Great video. Looking for teardrop for a 1930 coupe. What was your estimate cost?
@@Jyock Hello, if you’re building it yourself, you have the flexibility to spend as much or as little as you wish. If you’re looking to purchase one, the range is pretty wide depending on size, features, and finish. But just ballpark $6000 on the low end and $12,000-$15000 on the upper end. If you intend to use a model A, weight is your most important consideration. 800 pounds should be your maximum. Stopping it is more of the issue than pulling it.
