They are really clever, no need to worry, they do find water. Kruger National Park has many water points and we did get a lot of rain this year.
The mamma is around, and all the elephants in the herd will take care of the young ones.

I like how they always keep the little ones in the middle. Then there that one last troublemaker at the very end sounds off and then runs back to mama..
Elephants are very protective of their young yes and the teens always make trouble and are amazing to watch sometimes, that is why at a certain age they get kicked out of the herd.

This lone Elephant is a male teen, at a certain age they get kicked out. Mostly because they play too hard with the young and just become a bit unruly.
