New Chinese Restaurant in Toronto Baili Eatery & Lounge - Really good ceviche and lobster fried rice
Recently went to a new chinese restaurant in North York (Toronto) on Yonge South of Steeles Ave E called Baili Eatery and Lounge. My friend Amy (@amu.wong on instagram) tried it out recently and i decided to try it as well.
I was glad to have had a few people join me so that we can try more dishes out, really enjoyed the lobster fried rice, scrambled egg lobster, shrimp ceviche, skewers and abalone. Overall really enjoyed the food here, where i had to ask the chef about their history - mentioned they worked at Kojin, Ruby Watch Co and then went to China but eventually came back.
Definitely recommend to try this restaurant out!

Met up with fellow content creator Kathy (@kthy.hng.eats on tik tok) to try out a filipino restaurant - Kuya Dons - specializing in Lomi Batangas. Kuya Don is located at Bathurst & Wilson in Toronto. recently went for dinner with some friends to try out Mayrik which is a Mediterranean restaurant located at Bayview Rd south of Eglinton. Mayrik offers a delicious menu, majority of the items we ordered tasted pretty good.

heard alot about Elijahs Automatic flame broiled burgers and decided to finally check it out. They are located in the west end of Toronto in Etobicoke at 821 The Queens Way. we ordered the bacon automatic burger, chili cheese fries and the Harry & Heels California style original donut. Overall really good burger, donuts and fries - will definitely be back!

Decided to try a fairly new Ramen shop called Nicoca Ramen located at the Midland and Mcnicoll plaza in Scarborough, just south of Markham. Broth was good but definitely could use a a tiny bit of work on the noodles (personal preference)

Adding to my list
saw a few comments on here about price/value concerns - give Ramen Buta-Nibo a try (over on Danforth, west of Pape). They do Jiro style ramen and it's Japanese run. Price is in the upper teens to low 20s but the portions are pretty solid. Broth is more robust too so if you do prefer things on the low sodium side, this might not be it but if you like bold and porky....Honestly, there really aren't any good ramen spots in the GTA sub $15 anymore. Yes, you can get ramen of the highest quality in Japan for less than $10 CAD but last I checked, a round trip plane ticket is over $1500 so I'd say it takes a little more planning than just "hey what should we have for dinner tonight" LOL
yeah i 100% agree - i think the better ramen spots are mid-town to downtown and not too many great ones up town. - Buta-Nibo is huge - i remember having to share that bowl with a friend lol
There’s a ramen spot in that same plaza Midori Ramen. It’s a creamy chicken based broth.

The clueless bus boy was wrong. It's not tempura batter, it's rice paper instead of the usual wonton wrapper used. Traditional Vietnamese deep-fried spring rolls are made with rice paper wrapper.

Have you ever been to Ithaca in Markham? I like it, they have one of the best tzatziki sauce.
i haven't been recently - but its probably one the only Greek restaurants ive eaten at in Markham tbh - anything you recommend to order there?
@@torontofood I always go for grilled octopus, but my folks always enjoyed their roasted lamb.
We will definitely go there again . My family is from Pakistan 🇵🇰 .

@@torontofood there was an indian all you can eat restaurant where the theatre is I think.
Bone marrow pho is hard to find. Their broth sure look clean. I might have to try this place.
i liked the one from linh anh at midland and finch before - but havent had it recently

yes 100% agree - the economy here is pretty bad where every shop has high prices - wheres a good ramen spot which is affordable and good quality/quantity here in toronto?
Ramen in Japan is like $8-9 per bowl. Here is like twice the price. Yeah, no thanks!
yes Japan is definitely a place for value - but unfortunately pretty pricey to travel for me - any recommendations for places here in Toronto?
@@torontofood Ajisen Ramen at Midland and Finch, Hana Ramen at Kennedy and Progress/Ellesmere, Kinton Ramen at Progress/William Kitchen. They're all priced similar to Nicoca Ramen unfortunately. And they're all probably run by Chinese owners so authenticity is questionable.

@@torontofood i went to the Kenzo on Yonge and Sheppard a lot but it was closed already. It's a franchise store so I think there is another another one in downtown. Other than that I don't know any other stores. That's why I watch videos like yours :)

Rudy’s was bomb back in the day haven’t tried them recently - but yes the one in Vaughan/maple a lot closer to me as well

Couldn’t understand anything she said.For a deli I was surprised it wasnt rye bread,and piled high with an unbelievable amnt of meat on it,compared to bread.I am used to a ratio of 3 to 1 meatwise from a deli,compared to bread.That would be my only reason for not going there.

Love chef Jay and the folks there. Super friendly, stupidly good food. I featured them not long ago and have been back twice since to try other items on the menu. Nothing has disappointed. So glad you enjoyed this spot!
