The best Travel Hack for when you are flying out of Sydney.

When you are making your way from Sydney CBD to the Domestic or International Airport, the train is the best way to go. However, not all train stations are the same. For the easiest, quickest and most fool-proof way to get to the airport, start your journey at St James Station. Original Music by Frankum & Frankumjay.

Four Best Pubs in Sydney?

We set out to complete a pub-crawl using the City Circle train line. Also wanted to look at some tourist attractions at each stop. Started well, but finished in a bit of disarray. Here is where we stopped and what we saw. Can you touch the Sydney Opera House?

I'll take you on one of the best walks in Sydney - from Kirribilli, across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and around to the Sydney Opera House. I'll also answer that perennial question - can you touch the white sails of the Sydney Opera House?
Sydney, Australia - Thelma & Louise cafe and a secret harbour beach.
Просмотров 3534 года назад
A short ferry ride from the heart of Sydney is the Thelma & Louise cafe. The cafe was so named when the current owner purchased it - but now it's also the name of her two dogs. Get off at Neutral Bay Wharf and the cafe is right next door. Look for a nearby sign pointing towards a harbour beach, walk down a half hidden corridor and enjoy a post-breakfast swim and a snorkel.
Sydney, Australia - Quick Brown Fox Eatery and a walk around Pyrmont Bay.

Is this the best breakfast in Sydney? I demolish the Big Breakfast at Quick Brown Fox and then wander around Pyrmont Bay. While the surrounds are undeniably beautiful, the question has to be asked - does the area really need TWO casinos?
Sydney, Australia - Twelve Squares and The Goods Line
Просмотров 1694 года назад
Twelve Squares is a nice little cafe, right in the centre of Sydney, that serve a delicious sucuk (Turkish sausage) bagel. The Goods Line is a pleasant walk from Central train station to Darling Harbour - with metallic yellow table tennis tables on the way..
Hong Kong - Kim & Co and a Hong Kong tram.

For my final day in Hong Kong, I hit Kim & Co, alleged home of the best coffee in HK. Okay, it was good but the price they charge is eye-watering. I finally have a ride on a Hong Kong tram before heading to the airport and flying home.
Hong Kong - Australia Dairy Co. and Tai O Fishing village
Просмотров 754 года назад
Renowned for the best scrambled eggs and the rudest waiters in HK, we head to the Australia Dairy Co. where we are not disappointed. A 30 min ferry ride followed by a 45 minute bus ride takes us to Tai O fishing village on Lantau island. We search out for the mysterious Chinese White Dolphin that is sometimes seen in these waters.
Hong Kong - Lin Heung Teahouse and Observation Wheel

I meet with some old friends and we enjoy a huge dim sum breakfast at the Lin Heung Teahouse while drinking enough tea to float a battleship. Afterwards we ride the Observation Wheel and almost see the city through the smog.

First day in Hong Kong and the good Lord doth smite me down - though the coffee and French toast at Shui Kee Coffee almost makes up for it. As for the steamed buns... awesome!
Sydney, Australia - Auvers Cafe and Paddy's Market

The French/Asian fusion menu at Auvers Cafe in Sydney's Darling Square is a joy to consume. I enjoy the best Eggs Benedict I have ever eaten. Afterwards we walk to nearby Paddy's Market to check out the merchandise and produce they have for sale.

Hello! Thank you for the very informative video. I plan to go there this oct. Did this public ferry allow to carry suitcase on board?
Absolutely! No restrictions on luggage at all.
A guy who appreciates a good coffee, I can with that.
Thank you so much for this video. It will be very useful when my wife and I visit in December of ‘24.
Totally agree with you BB. Circular Quay Station is most definitely to best place to first aim for after arriving in Sydney. All that underground travel just adds to the grand arrival at the Quay. Even if you don't leave the station & get back on another train to take you to a station closer to your accomodation, first stop must be Circular Quay.
Here's to more bars, more beers & less big ticket tourist attractions. After all it is a pub crawl 🍻
This is the St James Station-like channel. Quiet but rather handy. 👍
do not make stupid smacking sounds.
You forgot to actually tour the bars (Slims, for example) All we see is you guys having a pint 🍺 You need to walk around and show the view - it’s a rooftop bar after all.
We had this kind of experience last month in Sydney with our son ,we went to Paramatta town from circular quay
Thanks, this is useful indeed.
simple, useful, and definitely beautiful view of sydney at the end of the video. Thank you Sir. much appreciated.
It is also the fastest and probably the cheapest way. The cost of Taxi to the city is about $85 and by train is about $20. The lowest price on Opal card is $20. The Opal card is free unlike the Melbourne's Myki card ( which cost $6 for adult and $3 for concession)
He’s like the grandpa who guides everyone well! This video is amazing! I love it! Very useful 🎉
This is just about the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me!
OMG this was so informative. We are going from Domestic Airport to Circular Quay in Sept to go on a cruise. This has made the decision to catch the train a must do now!!!! Thank you so much for posting this. Enjoy your travels.
Glad to help! have a great trip!
You don’t need opal cards anymore. Just use your credit/debit card.
@@philips3066 IS the fare different using credit/debit card in Sydney? the cost of Opal card is free.
@@jliang70 I believe there is no difference in fare.
Great video! Thank you so much!!
You can now just tap your credit card. You don’t need an opal card. This vid is 4 years old
No, the best quickest and easiest way possible is to have someone pick you up.
FYI.. using your Credit Card is just like using an Opal card...
This really helped me on my trip to Sydney last month. Was quick and easy and the stop at Circular Quay was definitely worth it
Glad to hear it! Even though the video is 4 years old, everything is exactly the same. Hope you had a great trip!
Thx BB, it is very useful
😍 thank you so much for this video
Really helpful thank you
thanks for your video grreatttt
Thanks for the informative video. I just realised that you can use Opal to pay for the ferry ride. Just wondering which ferry (any specifics?) to take to Hornby lighthouse and back
What does "Guday" mean?
G’day - hello. Hi. Hey there.
@@erinrolander3340 You're trying to say 'good day.'
Hi BB, very good vid it is the way to go,i live up near newcastle and travel once ayear on the train to sydney had card for many years now and its great, i go to my paper shop and recharge once a year, your video is spot on. god bless and take care, terry dora ck.
Thanks BB, for the valuable hint. If you live in Sydney near a rail line and travelling alone, the train is probably the best option. Yeah it costs a station access fee (which goes to the government not to a private organisation BTW), but it is way, way cheaper than a cab or parking at the airport (and it also stops the riff-raff treating the airport as a shopping mall hangout). If you are going as a group, a shared cab fare is often better. But there are also mini-bus shuttles which are often reasonably cheap and door to door, and may be the best option for some locations. If you live or are staying somewhere along the 350 or 420 bus routes, (or want to do the backpacker poverty transfer to Mascot station) you can also use them. Back in the day, I used to park at Revesby on the airport line for interstate meeting flights (or to Melbourne by XPT and back by air). These days they charge if you park at many station carparks and don't use your Opal card to commute, or you are there for more than 18 hours, but I know of people who now do similar to me and get back in under 18. Even if they don't, the fee is still less than airport parking or most cab rides.
My confidence is getting high after I watch ur vid sir.
Really useful video. I am travelling solo to Sydney from the UK in June, so it's good to have a video to show the process and where everything is. When I am travelling solo, I don't like to appear like I don't know where I'm going or not know what I'm doing as it can be an easy target for unscrupulous people. Videos like this are so useful for when people go to new places.
How was your experience? I'm travelling solo to Sydney in 5 days!
@@christopherpoblete8562 It was really easy. You can use contactless to pay for your journeys. I had a preloaded currency card which I think was either Visa or Mastercard and it was accepted in the contactless scan in and scan out. Very cheap compared to expensive UK transport prices! I understand you can buy travel cards which you can preload but the currency card worked for me. The Sydney transport website was great for working out routes (such as where you change and which lines) and they seemed pretty frequent. The train to and from the airport was a doddle too. I much preferred the Sydney transport system versus Melbourne...the latter had a lot of disruptions and bus replacement services when I went.
Right, this video will help me out a lot cause I'm also solo traveling to Sydney from the USA, This September
@@christopherpoblete8562did you enjoy it
Maybe a little less face time. We came to see the airport.
Thanks for the video. I'm coming to Sydney in 2 months 😍
Good time to visit. Really hot now but weather should be perfect then.
Thank you so much for such a detailed video.
Thank you for sharing Really useful for me Cheers
Hello. Thank you for your informative video. Me and my family will have a half day in sydney. What’s your best ferry routes suggestion? This ferry will return to starting point right? Unlike bus or train that takes us to different areas?!
Hi Ester, If you only have a half day, I would recommend a ferry trip from Circular Quay to Manly. Manly has a harbour beach and a surf beach at opposite ends of the Corso, a lovely pedestrian mall. You can eat fish chips on the grass under the trees or have lunch in one of the many pubs. The ferry trip takes about 30 mins each way. There are no other stops between CQ and Manly so you can't get lost!
@@breakfastbuster7483 thank you for your info. 🙏
Hi. Thank you for all informative videos. I will have 8 hours in Sydney From 8 am to 6 pm. Where should I go in Sydney and most imp when and how should I reach to airport for 6 pm flight ?
Thanks so much for your informative videos - just subscribed! Is there a boat/ferry to get from Circular Quay to Bondi Beach? If so, any recommendations? Cheers.
Hi Nathan. There is no ferry from Circular Quay to Bondi beach. You can catch a bus (333) from Alfred St at Circular Quay (Stand B) to South Bondi. A 3 minute walk will have you on Bondi beach. Opal card can be used on buses as well as ferries.
Buses, trains and ferries or you can use a debit or credit card. It's important to remember to tap on and definitely tap off when you arrive. Ferries are for Sydney Harbour.
Hello a few questions, what time do the trains stop operating. What time do the office's close at the station. And can you put cash into the machines. All important questions as I am travelling soon. Thanks in advance.
@@breakfastbuster7483 thanks Breakfast Buster I finally after a ton of websites worked it all out. Airport train is good for about an hour after midnight and the Central to Gosford train is good after midnight also... thanks
Thanks for sharing. Been to Sydney many times but would like to try the train this time and the video will be very helpful. I do have a question, can you walk from Terminal 1 to the train station? Do I have to take the T-Bus to the Domestic Terminal? Thanks again for your help.
very helpful thank you breakfest buster!
What a nice discover, love you Channel! Cheers mate

Thank you for your channel. I visit Sydney sometimes and love to get the locals tips on little spots to visit…keep vlogging Sydney! ❤️
Thanks for the video. Will be visiting in a few months!
You don't need an opal card now. Just use your credit card to go through the gates
Absolutely correct. The only issue is that you will miss out on the capped travel savings if you're catching a lot of public transport.
@@breakfastbuster7483 This is incorrect. Using a credit card has the same daily and weekly benefits as using an Opal card.
@@RyanJacobs496 Absolutely correct, James. My apologies! I'm pretty certain when they first allowed for credit card payment, the Opal benefits were not included. But they certainly are now. See:transportnsw.info/tickets-opal/opal/contactless-payments
