Community Energy England (CEE) is a not for profit organisation that represents and supports those committed to the community energy sector. CEE was established by the sector to provide a voice for community energy and to help create the conditions within which it can flourish. This is done by increasing the profile of community energy, building capacity within the sector, and by advocating for supportive policies at national and local levels.

My takeaway from all this is they we are going to pay for this through yet another standing charge. Considering the current great British rip off with standing charges, I’m not encouraged to accept any additional financial burden on me or my family. It’s a no from me.
Thanks for the feedback, but the idea is that you'd basically switch from paying your gas standing charge to pay for connection to the gas network, to instead pay a standing charge for connection to the heat network and smart local energy system. So it wouldn't be additional.

Why aren't you able to simply plug your EV into the home battery to top it up as required? It seems you need a whole lot of additional gadgets to only be able to run a few sections of the home.
Very interesting. In parallel, you must improve insulation in homes and reduce hot water consumption - both will have a HUGE impact on power consumption
