IT IS clear that she is a true Suffi, and she made it very clear that Suffism has nothing to do with Islam.

Find it interesting what was missing in the list of teachers. Until we acknowledge the roots of western spirituality we will remain cut of from our roots. These great teachers are quoted again and again yet no acknowledgement is froth coming. I have been been shown this a blind spot in the west. Confused, then ask who gave the Psalms and from what tradition did it come from? Why is it so hard to acknowledge this and why have so many been slaughtered because of their roots in that root?

Islamic Shariah and traditional Shariah cannot be referred to or identified as the identical ones. In Islamic Shariah the instructions are the means to bring an end to the dual nature of the corrupt understanding of the self about the universal consciousness. Actually, the instructions mentioned in the Islamic Shariah, is to bring an end to the present punishment (past sadness, future phobia and heaven mania). It is the practical action imposed on individuals to correct themselves by eradicating the dual consciousness. The country and cultural practices enumerated as Shariah law presently do not form the true Islamic Shariah. Human beings will not practice a religion if a religion claims that it has the irrevocable authority to punish its followers. The human nature will not accept it. How can one accept a supreme power that punishes his followers when it claims the supreme power is omnipotent (A), and omniscient (L)? If it is so how can it be cruel and mete out punishment to individuals for actions for which those individuals are not responsible? It says only it is existing. It also says nothing happens without his knowledge or command.

Soul and Atma are not the same - Atma is the unchanging Self above us and Soul is the evolving Self within what she calls the Psychic Centre..

She has something, that's for sure. l'm glad she emphasized the fact that Sufism has nothing to do with islam, and is indeed far older. lt was al-ghazali who formed an islamized version of Sufism, l believe, which most sufi sects didn't accept and also never saw al-ghazali as a true sufi. l don't think muhammed should be placed alongside Sri Krishna, Christ, Buddha or any other Spiritual Master [certainly not these Avatars] - muhammed belongs in the category of 'Psychopath' IMO..

If we have to learn everything by ourselves,as Irina says, then every person who questions the standard way of doing things in his/her culture,is a sufi.From this perspective, many psychologists and psychological researchers should be considered Sufis.

I read the comments and realize how only a few understand the essence of the path.

Stillness or movement, the thoughts and impulses will go on, but the point is the ability to continue as you were. Just ask anyone who has or had ADD or ADHD, controlled focus in devotion helps or cures.

Drop D tuning used to be popular in grunge rock. Yellow is too happy and enlightening of a color for a path that is supposed to bring confusion and disorder.

One should be willing to strive for what is right and be honest about one's beliefs, but a rebel without a cause only makes for a good drama; not a flourishing life.

The examplar prophets embodied what the ancient Persians called Daena and the Arabs call Ad-diyn or system of judgement. This is that relationship with God and creation called religion. Religion isn't a church or cult of personality. Unorthodox means not correctly believing. Islam has never allowed for people to physically afflict others for mere blasphemy, apostasy, or disbelief. Deen may not be religion for you and knowing that it refers to any way of life repairs the issues some have found with those translations.

Just like Zarathushtra, Muhammad never claimed to found a religion, but to give the example and share the revelation of how to follow the path of all the other prophets did after the messages formerly received were corrupted to the point it was necessary for God to send another messenger. People who speak of their path as not having guidance are either being misleading or subtly admitting that their path isn't really the means for any real development.
