Nepal 2023
Просмотров 6509 месяцев назад
A mostly chronological conglomeration of clips from our month and a half long adventure in Nepal. We set out with the goal of doing the most classic long multi days the Nepali Himalayas. Ironically we logged about 29 days on the river and 600 miles of river with only 2 takeouts. Starting in western Nepal we paddled the todo Bheri followed by the todo Karnali. Then after parting ways with the ma...
Middle Kings 2023
Просмотров 924Год назад
A glimpse into the struggle and magic of paddling the Middle Kings river in California. This video is definitely not a comprehensive guide to the river nor does it do this section any justice. You will only know if you go for yourself but do not take this river trip lightly.
South Fork Skokomish
Просмотров 545Год назад
The South Fork Skokomish river is one of the longer and more accessible sections that comes off the south east side of the Olympic range. We were able to catch it at ~2200cfs during a winter storm. Thankfully, Bremerton local Rob Scanlon was there to show us the lines. Please note that after this was filmed there was a landslide that created a portage early on in this section. Enjoy.

Ernies Gorge 2021
Просмотров 7433 года назад
Ernies Gorge at 650-700cfs. I made this video largely as a memory tool to help remember the rapids. The Canyon is stacked with challenging and dangerous rapids. Do not take this section lightly. On this lap we portaged Raft Trap, Cluster, and the top of Big Nasty. Also we took some sneaks in various places. Enjoy

Homathko

After diverting to the Dean River for an alternative source to sea mission, the shrunken crew sets sites on the Homathko river for an epic three day decent. Starting from Tatlayoko lake and traversing the coast range, the Homathko drops 2,800 feet in about 50 miles to Bute inlet. Along the way we discovered beautiful glaciated mountains, abundant wildlife, and magical whitewater.

Thanks! Enjoyed it. 😊
I led the first kayak descent of the Backhaus over thirty years ago. Shot everything blind and scared the crap out of me. Your video does not make me want to go back.
Friggin awesome!
I’ve been trying to figure out what happens if you go in the crack at zoot for the longest time.
That was quick
Dialed man, on a stout race lap!
Fast asf!

Nice! I would need my Trump bible on that run.
jah insparationnn
sick run!!!
Nice!!!
Hell of a gorge, indeed. Where is this?
lime creek near DMR outside of Durango Co
Thanks for sharing your point of view Cody! You and your friends are crazy and amazing!
I remember kayaking those creeks and also some over by Ouray back in the 1960's when I was in my late teens and early twenties. May grandfather wanted to go trout fishing in some of those narrow canyons, but just couldn't get to them. I could get to them in my 'yak, but had no interest in fishing. I had a huge high volume phoenix boat which the few other kayakers around in the day called the USS Nimitz after the aircraft carrier of the same name. It looked even bigger with tiny me in it. Back then, Telluride was just a ghost town back then and there were creeks which have now been channelized which were at the time an exciting run. Gotta learn to live with the outlanders ruining the countryside. Been happening ever since white gold miners started ruining it for the indigenous Ute tribe. Each successive generation packs in a few more.
Not too many calm, glassy eddies in there. I thought I saw one.
You guys are getting soooo rowdy!!!!
That was all a race?! My gosh, thrilling 15 minutes to watch with my jaws dropped.
Yeah Ashe, it’s a long and exciting race course!
Damn, that's pretty continuous goods.
Wow! That's beyond sendy. Seriously gnarly. Some of you must have unbelievably high lung volume considering how much time you were underwater getting beat down. My mind is blown. I really loved the part where you kayaked into and under those amazingly beautifully water carved rocks. That was almost surreal. Thumbs up, and new subscriber for sure! Now I'm going to go watch it again!
Go off Mamma Duck 🤟
Fuck yeah Cody this is awesome. Stoked you made it back to the himalayas, maybe see you in Europe one day. Robin (yes, that one)
nice job!!
The fun/ pucker factor is borderline on this one, a swim in that box would be fucking disastrous
Offensive music.
Git r' done!
Love it, love you.
WOW....EPIC....which explains the lack of comments after two years.....you left everybody SPEECHLESS !!! There's lots of useless drivel on YT...but this is unreal...I'm surprised somebody has actually done it! What's next? Everest????
This adventure is just amazing! Not really an easy way out. You three were so together! I have watched this 5 times. It's so fun! I've only ever done class 3. What an awesome and fun video to watch!!
That is a hell of a gorge
Well that looks absolutely sick
Sickkkk!
God you're good
You’re making me blush! Come visit 👇👇👇
Respect! That's some seriously high water for that river's standard, I wouldn't dare do it at that level on K2 or K4! Very good video to get a feeling of the water from inside, I could easily identify all the rapids.
Is this north of Durango, like the Purgatory area? Awesome video!
Rowdy
Digging the video! Any thoughts on seat position? I've always bumped the mamba forward a tad, looks like centered up may be a better bet with the longer stern edges of the phantom?
Right on Cody Beach!
shrig
Hell yeah Cody! Making the phantom look good!
What awesome Cali run is this?
South Yuba
So did you break your surge? Thought you said you broke it, but then looked like you paddled it again later
Sounds like it was a two piece breakdown, so he put it in his boat to paddle his friends paddle down for him. His friend's boat floated downstream, so it was either that or the guy had to carry his paddle down.
Wow it looks like you had a great trip Cody.
awesome , one question, if you did break a bone how do you manage it?
Sweet. But that sped up footage is annoying as hell
what level was the river at in this video?
check out the description, 988 cfs!
You know it's stout when the bill of your hat gets blown back.
