I just realised that the starting of this closing theme has a funky synth accompanying the bass, and this synth is also heard in the N24 countdown from this era

This was on the BBC Countdown evolution thing, it was a remix of this and other thing as the opening.

This soundtrack lasted from 2008 to 2022. The headline bed sounds exactly like the one used by Persian in 2009, but one semitone higher.

Perhaps you can share me the original file without texts, I am working on a project.

The 2008 and 2018 themes were derived from the 2005 theme heard here. The 2005 theme sounds faster and more bouncy; the 2008 theme is honestly quite bland-sounding to me; the greater emphasis on strings in the 2018 theme gave it more character compared to the 2008 theme imo.

The older theme sounds funky while the newer theme has heavy emphasis on orchestral elements.

6:24 this is a variation of the LDN headline bed? I have not heard this in LDN videos I have seen. Most of the time the headline bed does not have the “thunderclap” effect head in this version. Anyway I saw a video of London from 2004, it used a different-sounding headline bed (different key, no bass and drums), but the titles sounded the same.

World 2002 and World Today 2001-2003 are the same

These shorter titles were used when Newsday broadcasted from Taiwan during their elections in 2024, but the voiceover just said “this is BBC News. It’s Newsday!”
