Drinking is nasty

They been doing these for years. I actually lived in Amador County. I did stupid things as a young adult. Just found out my ex wanted a divorce, me thinking i knew it all and in denial did the only thing i thought would make me feel better, go to italian picnic and drink. A friend wanted a ride home, so i took her home, then preceeded to go to another friends to return a jacket, thinking oh i was fine to drive. I mean, i actually wasnt at or over the legal limit but i didnt sleep much for a week and those two dont mix at all. I shouldnt have been drinking period. Thank the Lord that my friend wasnt with me. I had to be airlifted to another hospital (uc davis), I dont remember the ride. I woke up to hear my stomache was rising, then a tube was put into my nose and down my throat. It went dark again. I woke up to a sherrif asking me if ive been drinking. Dark again. Woke up to them wheeling me down a hall asking me what year it was, who the president was (you hear those questions on tv but never imagine you would be one to have to answer). I had two morphine drips in each arm. My face was so swollen and bruised from hitting the windshield twice before being thrown from the vehicle. The combination of drinking and lack of sleep might as well have put me 2x over the limit. Even though i had two drinks and under the limit, i recieved wreckless driving. I didnt spend any time in jail or prombation but i should have in my opinion. They used my car at one of these demonstrations and im glad they did so others can learn from drinking and driving.

From Sydney, Australia. I think this is a short film that should be shown in all high schools to seniors that either are , or, soon will be young drivers. After screening open up discussion session for all viewers so every piece is examined and discussed whether it be bad parenting, acting out after being told off for in this case receiving another speed infringement. There is plenty within this short film , I think as a trained medical professional it is excellent .

Feels very emotional, but it lacks real substance. The kids father probly drank as a kid, he probly sped as well, but instead of trying to understand at all why his kid acts out the they she did, he instead immediately goes to anger. Her response was what any typical kid would do, lash out, do something stupid, and hurt people unintentionally. Be involved in your kids lives, understand they are kids, mentor them, build them into adults. Don't fly off the handle over something stupid they do, cause they are going to do a ton of stupid things. I drank when I was in highschool, everyone did at some point, but I never drank and drove, it was never even something I considered doing. My parents would let me and my friends drink at our house, but the simple rule was, if you drink, you lose your keys. We were treated like equals, and watched over by people with the experience to know when we had enough. We were able to "party" without the unnecessary risk to innocent people. As long as we continue to forget what it was like to be a kid, and hoist upon them our understanding of what it means to be an adult, without giving them the proper tools or convictions to want to BE an adult, you will have this happen, over and over and over again. No amount of PSA's aimed at kids, is going to stop them. Maybe would should be educating adults on what it means to be an adult, cause most of them are not. If this was a real case, I would put 90% of the responsibility on the father in this case, what a complete and utter failure of a parent.

Such an amazing program to create awareness with the youth & I definitely felt emotional while watching this video Choices have consequences & many people are affected by the decisions of drivers who choose to get behind the wheel while under the influence I pray this video would minister to the hearts of not only teens but in every individual that watches it! Im definitely going to pass this video on & would encourage that you share it with your family, friends, & co workers too!
