    The date conversion (at 07:23) isn't working for me. Formatting the cell to "General" doesn't convert my date to a number (43710 and 43774 in your example at 08:11). What am I doing wrong?

      The lateral pressure of self-compacting concrete (SCC) it depends on the amount of pressure it exerts laterally when fresh. The design of formwork is governed by this pressure. For slump greater than 2.5 inch p= (3.28+0.26Rt)Wc>=630<=Phydrostatic

      Bending moment and bending stress are two different. Bending stress is the internal resistance a component develops when an external bending moment or force is applied. This bending moment causes the component to curve, which in turn creates tensile and compressive stresses within the structure. These combined stresses are known as bending stresses. Max moment for simply supported beam is wl^2/8.

    Here in new mexico, they bank all corners the opposite way, keeps the drunks halfway off the road at all times, reduces safe speeds when its raining, a crowned road is a rare phenomenon, blinkers are optional for drivers, guardrails on flat roads and nothing on mountainous winding roads, potholes take 5 years reporting before attended, better stick to horse and wagon to avoid the lean toward the outside.😂

    Explains several key components of grading. I learnt a lot. However, after 30 minutes, the surface creation could have been done better. The interior surface spilled outside the parking area. This should have been corrected. After correcting this, go for outside daylight grading, create the daylight surface in one shot. Paste them together. This would have avoided lot of confusion.

      No, its based on location it can vary from 0.25 to 1.25.

    How do I decide to use either ACI 347 or ASCE 37-14?

      Lateral Pressure on formwork is addressed in both ASCE 37-02 and ACI 347-04, but there are few differences in both: - Column Forms ASCE states maximum limit of 3000 psf, however ACI has no upper limit. -Wall Forms ASCE doesn't consider the placement height, but ACI use 14' as one of the applied conditions. ASCE uses 2000 psf as maximum pressure but ACI again has no upper limit. They both are accepted . I would use ACI.

    Hi Nasser, one question I have is when you sloped the exterior of your building 10' offset at 2%. How did that work? Since we are projecting to proposed surface that is already sloping 2% in the opposite direction so if we are forcing it to slope at 2% we might not get 10' equally around the building to tie-in to existing surface? Meaning the tie-in point would be lower than the proposed surface so that would not work? Can you please explain. P.S.: I am a Microstation guy trying to learn Civil3D. Thank you! Toufic Awad, P.E.

      Very good question. He should have gotten the surface elevation of the outer line, and offset the outer line 10' and +2% to inner line. None of the dummies caught it.
