@@blakeshawke1934 It definitely is not just you! The foil looks nice.. but it's too much a lot of the time. We really appreciate the chase and the rarity of the fractured foils, but the foil itself is a bit much. It's also less rewarding to pull a foil when they pass them out like hotcakes. Being that you've been playing that long, are you holding onto any dual lands or anything exciting from Alpha or Beta?!?

@sesameatball Right!! With how much of it that's bound to be opened, it's really wasteful. We do get the need to be able to single package each set, but there has to be a better way than that. The hits were nuts though!! So many cool cards in this set! And of course, some of us are partial to the anime treatment 😅. We really hope that statistic is skewed! I've actually been considering giving that one a shot! I know it has a huge fan base and is highly recommended! I'll keep you posted when I do 😄 Thanks again, as always, for coming back! @@Sai1orJerry We just use that to keep track of any card that's pulled with a value of $2 or over. We do a rolling total so you can see the box value as it's opened

There are a ton of really good cards that just mesh well in the set. Its not necessarily going to get you S-tier solely with those cards, but you should have fun with them in a casual setting.

@obijohn1 This set is more of a "Standard" power level. It's a core set, so its main purpose is to be really big and offer a wide selection of cards. It has a lot of really good reprints in it, making it a great set for beginners. HOWEVER, it's not necessarily the first box I would go after for commander. The reason being is, commander has SO many cards to choose from that are legal in the format. It's hard to fit more "standard" level cards in it. If you're wanting to expand your collection of high power commander cards, I would recommend Comander Masters, Double Masters, Modern Horizons, or Commander Legends. Those would be a better start. We agree with you 100%! The new cards definitely do look good and have their appeal. But the old school style is just the way to go in our opinion. Maybe also pull some of the halos back out as well so they feel special when you pull them. We appreciate you coming back and look forward to having you for the next one! 😄

I think it would be really nice if they tried more oldschool shading techniques on some of the newer card art styles! like it would have the potential to maybe meld the two a little (or it could look awful.. who knows)? but i say this as a total brand new magic noob who knows essentially nothing but the bare minimum so take this opinion with a grain of salt.
