Shred with Ed
Добавлен 31 май 2006
Thanks for stopping by the channel. My name is Ed and I love to shred all things two wheeled. I wanted to make this channel to share my experiences as a weekend warrior who travels the country and races mountain bikes and dirt bikes. My goal is to share the part of my life that I dedicate to racing, traveling, and staying fit to be as competitive and prepared as possible. I hope you enjoy what you find on my page, and feel free to reach out with any feedback to help me better this!

Thanks for checking out my video! I haven't been super active on here, but I made a switch over to Honda a few months ago, and have been riding better ever since. As some of you might know, I race mostly B Class, so here is a video of me trying my best to hang onto some A Class guys like @tiptubetv

What's up everyone! I know it's been awhile. I've been considering a new brand of dirt bike after over 10 years on KTM's, so here is a video from a few months back of me riding the new Yamaha YZ450F and a Honda CRF 450 RWE. Off the bat I had a much clearer track on the Yamaha, but had some incidents with the front end losing grip that had some concerns. Overall what do you think I rode better? ...

Shredding at the wedding? What's up everyone? Thanks for checking back into the channel. I know things have been a little quiet, as I've been racing less, but I'm still out there shredding. New content is coming in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime check out our wedding! I was lucky the venue let me ride through on my dirt bike! What's up everyone! Thanks for checking out this weeks video. I kept it very simple this week, with just music and shredding! This is my favorite loop when I need to put in some real volume. It's just over 17 miles, and it's been great for keeping in shape! I have a hard tail 29, i absolutely love this place and only 8 miles away
@@WilliamBeaver-tb9nt that’s so awesome. I wish I lived closer. Missing the event this year too. Life’s been in the way 😭
@ShredwithEd understand that. I wish I had someone to ride with, solo sometimes gets boring.
How were you screen sharing on the TV?
@@geoffreyquaile4383 I used a usbc to hdmi cable from my laptop to the tv.
Yes but with the couch instead of dinette
I agree! We’re actually looking at pulling the trigger on a 202 or 198. What do you think?
@@ShredwithEd I personally prefer the 202 but I wouldn't be mad at the 198
@@sticksandstones704i might be driving out to Ohio to look at them both. There’s a dealer, couches, that seems to have good prices.

Just to 16 mi on the Stevens Trails the other day. Awesome trails!
Love the quarry there too!

Broken Arrow is why I bought a full face helmet because I do not want broken face! haha Great video. Trexler is awesome. I signed up to Trexxfest this year! See u there.
I love that trail! Have fun! Hope to see you out there.
Any programs for real trails?? Slickrock and such?? would be sick.
I don’t think so. This is all through Zwift. They’re apparently working on more trails.
I’m in Andrews rn
Nvm I fount it
Yo yo can you help me find it please 😢
It's in Berrien Springs off Campbell Dr. If you punch in Campbell Dr, Berrien Springs, MI 49103 to your GPS it should get you there.
Thank you
@@Foxethan999 no was it?
Your bike is so sick bro. How comfy would you say it is just riding around town on the street and local trails/parks? That’s where/how I ride when I don’t go up in the mountains… I’ve pretty much been doing that my entire life. Riding enduro/ aggressive trail bikes around town. They aren’t the best I know, but how is this beast?
It's really meant for steep downhill terrain, so with sticky, heavier compound tires it's just slow on flat terrain.
@@ShredwithEd yeah I know that feeling because I’m running an assegai on the rear and dhf on the front at the moment. Makes your legs and cardio stronger tho lol.
Quick question I have a set of 29er wheels and a set of mullet wheelset. I'm going to build my enduro and my stumpy evo which one should I run mullet, the enduro or the evo?
I think the stumpy evo has a mullet link that you could buy for it where the ender does not.
@@ShredwithEd the enduro has one, I have bother mullet links but.I only have a set of mullet wheels and I needed to decide which on to mullet. I been looking at some reviews and I guess the evo is not the greatest at climbing until you make it a mullet
Damn, Stage 4 did not have GoPro effect. That looked steeeep - especially to the left of the screen at @ 7:48-51
It was STEEEP I through my SRAM brakes out and went to TRP after this race lol
Good afternoon. Please tell me how to get to the MTB trail? I had no such contact. Thank you
Did you tune the shock specific to specialized rx trail tune or it’s a retail version? I am thinking to upgrade the stock fox dps. Does that trail tune even matters?
I didn't run the trail tune. I followed the reccomended settings from Rockshox, and then made a few adjustments to the rebound. I think I ended up going a little slower on rebound and stiffer on compression and it felt great.
What model and year Wahoo are you using? Thanks in advance
I'm using a 2022 Kickr. I don't think it has anything to do with the trainer, so much as changing out the spacing for the cassette, and getting the right hubs spacer, which is usually included, but can also be found on Wahoo's site.
Is there any issue if u ride it like that with a dent?
Some people seem to think that it could impede the flow of exhaust gases, but for me it was a new pipe and I was just bummed it was dented, so I wanted it fixed.
How did they fix the bent??
Auto body shops tend to have different tools to help remove dents from body panels which was a little more helpful than the hot glue stick method.
Can you gove me a website or instgram page name?! I need to fix mine
Mine is brand new with 0 hours on it, it got hit during delivery. No warranty unfortunately. Does the bent affect the performance?!
@@Ameerdala I went to one in New Jersey not sure if you're local...
Do you have a sensor for steering? How does Zwift know you are steering?
You need to download the Zwift companion app on a phone and then mount it to your bars. That's how you get the steering sensor.
I have the TRP trail evo on my 2021 specialized enduro and they have plenty of stopping power for me. Just put a 203 rotor on the back which are the 2.3 mm thickness and they stop on a dime. Could’ve spent the extra $40 for the DH-R but decided not to atm. Cool build and vid btw
They are great brakes! I have the DHR's on my Enduro, but when I cracked the enduro frame, I would throw the wheels from it on my stumpy, and I ran the trail evo's at a downhill park with the 223mm front and 203mm rear and it worked.
No it’s Allaire. 😅
Is that 6 mile run?😂
I’m looking to do roughly the same thing in my van. Any issues with strapping and hauling dirt bikes with the L track only being mounted to the plywood with the T nuts? I’d imagine it’s quite strong but figured I’d drop a comment and see what you’re experience has been so far. Thanks.
Great question. I actually have tied down one side to the l track and the other side to the factory d rings and it’s worked.
@@ShredwithEd do you notice any flex in the floor when you tighten the strap on the L track side? Or does it seem to disperse the tension pretty evenly to where you don’t notice any uplifting on the floor? Great vids btw. I watched all 3 of your van build vids last night. You’re the first person I’ve found that’s not doing a camper build but just building a separate garage. That’s exactly what I’m doing and your build is pretty spot on for what I’m envisioning. Very helpful to see how you have done it all so far.
@@taylorholtby9268 no flex at all. My brother talked me into using 1 inch thick plywood so you figure that plus the l track being bolted through braces it.
@@ShredwithEd love it. Thanks for the info. Keep up the great work with your vids
@@taylorholtby9268 I really appreciate that. I’m getting back into the swing of things so I’ll have more soon.
great video. i have a sxf 350 and will be in the 50 and over class this year. raced back in the 80's and 90's. excited to get back.
Awesome hope yo see you out there!
Aren’t there 2 trails named coke and Pepsi?
I know of the trail, coke, have't found Pepsi.
Where do you find MTB trails in Zwift? I need to give them a try.
If you enter Titans Grove from the north and ride south for another 2 miles you will arrive at the trailhead, which is on the right. There is no route choice which puts you directly on Repack Ridge-the best you can do is choose a route which will take you to the trailhead after a few miles of riding.
no lockout on the shock or fork ?
No need to really lock it out, but you could.
Thanks for this man. Does the resistance when climbing feel steppy? Or is it like a gradual increase in resistance? Also, have you continued to use it and find it to be a good off-season trainer? Good workout?
Not a problem. I'd say it feels pretty gradual unless it's a major grade change say from 3% to 8%. I will be putting my stump jumper back on it in a few weeks as it gets colder, so I do believe it's good if you're consistent with it like anything else. Zwift even has training programs which is helpful.
Nice👍
👌 Promo'SM
How did you place, Ed? Are you running this year?
I place 4th. Weird though because I tied for third and I was faster on more stages than who they gave third to. Not sure if I'm doing it this year.
Congratulations. Video is very nicely put together!
Thank you very much!
I wish i could afford somethng like this man! Nice bike. What cranks are those?
Thanks a lot. These are @5DEV cranks. I have them on both bikes because they make shorter sizes to fit me best!
@@ShredwithEd Thanks, but damn, those are pricey but they look fantastic!
Sick looking enduro!! What brand/model of headset cap you’re using? Thanks!
It’s from wolf tooth components
Very nice looking enduro! what kind/brand of headset top cap are you using? Thanks!
I appreciate that. I have a wolf tooth components headset.
Finaly someone that deserves their subs and not cringe, that’s a great place to bike nice smooth rocks.
Wow. This might be the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. I promise I won't let it go to my head....too much :D This place is a GEM, helped me get over steep stuff for when I go to the bike parks.
It seems a bit awkward to have to pass through the bathroom to get in or out of the bedroom.
It seemed a bit off to me at first. Especially if I’m in the bathroom and the wife wants to get through to the kitchen 🥸 but at only 7.5 feet wide it’s probably the best way to maximize the space.
Sorry to bother you I have the onyx blue and I wanted to ride wrap but I need to know the model which model is this is an expert
No worries buddy! This is an expert. It's the matte color, but I put the glossy @ridewrap on it to bring out the color better!

:o
U put in car?
No this was just a bike ride. It must have glitched.
Kmh?
This was in MPH. I just think it was just a glitch lol
You like this enduro or your blue one more? U and down
They're pretty much the same, but the blue one has more add ons that are better for me.
This is not a how to video dude. It's "i took my stuff to a shop so they could fix it" video 🤣🤣🤣🤣
How to avoid further ruining your already ruined exhaust could have been a better title 😭😂

Love the self talk. Gotta be good to yourself when you’re putting it out there. I’m giving this race a try this weekend 👍
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching. Best of luck! I'm getting married in a couple weeks so I haven't been racing just to play it safe.
@@ShredwithEd I know of someone who went to Mtn. Creek for his bachelor party and had to get married in a full-body brace thanks to the Anthem drop.
@@SkateOrDie666 Ouch! Hope their spouse wasn't too mad about it! I stopped racing about 6 months up to my wedding to avoid it, but that is a really tough drop at mountain creek. The rock garden leading up to it is tricky.
Looped out and broke some rivets and bent the pipe😬 not a fun time repairing so far
It’s worth trying before buying a new one! Hope you can get it straighten out.
That fun downhill-ish trail that starts at 2:05 is called "Coke" and has two sections to it. If you kept going down section #2 you'd end up down by the water though and have to climb back up.. I try to see how fast I can rip down it without losing control! LOL That one with the drop up top that you hesitated on but eventually did, that we call "Mountain Creek" and that drop used to not be that big till this past year. Up until lately it was half as deep and rollable. Good job on that, I always pass on the drop. lol Looks like you scored a nice weather day for Allaire. 🤙
I have to find the second section. Was it off to the right? We stayed left and ended up at the bottom of the section you call Mountain Creek.
@@ShredwithEd Yes, when you got to the sandy part at what you thought was the bottom and hung left towards bottom of Mtn Creek, ... if you had kept going and stayed right there's another fast downhill style section that keeps going. "Coke" is really a 2-part trail. 🤙 At 1:27 in this vid is a clip of me following my friend down Coke - and at 2:00 is where you turned left but you'll see we keep right and section 2 starts: ruclips.net/video/9jvsM5EiA8k/видео.html
