The California College of the Arts Exhibitions and Public Programs Department fosters meaningful dialogue among visiting artists, students, faculty, and the local community through a robust schedule of more than 150 exhibitions, talks, and events each year.
Creative Citizens in Action (CCA@CCA) is a college-wide initiative that promotes creative activism and democratic engagement through public programs, exhibitions, and curriculum connections. CCA@CCA is overseen by the Exhibitions and Public Programs Department and funded by an endowment gift to launch The Deborah and Kenneth Novack Creative Citizens Series, an annual series of public programs focused on creative activism that spans the disciplines of art, design, architecture, and writing.

Love it, Great stuff
Fascinating and tantalizing discussion of this rich, layered and of course(!) poetic work. I like that Bervin's fabric/ stitched interpretation of Dickinson's poetry amplifies the poet's language as well as her physical presence. The enlarged writing and the piercing stitches create indentations in the batting not dissimilar from the grooves left behind from the pressure of the graphite on the page. The hands of both the artist and the poet merge and are foregrounded throughout. Very satisfying!
