The headlights must be on for the headlight washer to function. Here you can see the washer pop up from the bumper and wash the lens...pretty cool

Please, do you know the location of the fuse for washing the lights and what is its number? Ls430 2005
Acumulator Defect
thank you for this david! my parents passed me down a Togo sofa (2seats) and a Togo chair from the eighties. Foam is still great but the covers have seen better days, especially on the chair, there are parts on the bottom where acid ate through and I‘ll probably need to recover it. As for the sofa I might get away with thorough cleansing. I’m curious if you have tried washing the covers before or do you know how much they might shrink? Anyways I am happy to see that I might be able to put new covers on myself and won’t have to bring them to an upholsterer.
Absolutely riveting , informative , practical , with a gentle rhythm .; all the ingredients capitalistic algorithms tightly dismiss into oblivion. Loved your delivery David .
Thank for you this informative & enjoyable video!
I re-upholstered our togos too. Rather than pull the buttons out completely at the beginning, I snipped the non-tied-on end on the button with the knot, then pulled the other button carefully off, so the string stayed through the sofa. I think I then added a longer bit of string so they all stayed in place when we pulled the cover off. I then unpicked all the padding, drew the pattern for new fabric and made new covers (with the same padding). Then when we put the covers on, I fiddled the strings through the holes on the covers and the foam on a progressive basis One problem has been that the metal loop on the back of the buttons which I had covered isn't very strong, so some metal loops have opened leading to the buttons popping off. Grrrrr. Might replace them with metal buttons. Thank you for your video
beautiful restoration work. Did you by chance sanitize the foams? if yes, how did you do it? thanks!
I am sitting on a 42 year old Togo that we bought when I got married at 23 years old, my mother said they would not last five minutes. Great sofas though hard to get off them at 64, wish Ligne Roset would do a bigger version so I can get off them at 85!
So what’s the difference between the striped fabric bottom and these bottoms with the letters on? I read online that a real togo has striped fabric but see this fabric with the letters on it a lot as well? Are they fakes? It is not mentioned anywhere online
These were probably the very first (early) designed ones… I would say the very early stuff was all shipped from france…perhaps later stuff is made under licence in different countries..maybe thats where the difference comes in.. There are chinese fakes around now too
Hey let me know if you could restore one I buy, or are selling a restored one!
🥵🥵🥵🥵
This is incredibly helpful David, thank you!
Happy to be of service :-)
This girl made a sofa...lol ruclips.net/video/53QqTicgzJc/видео.html
Thank you for this. I have the Marsala sofa and chairs by Michel Ducaroy from 1970 which also need restoration, so I'm going to DIY if I can figure it out!
Do a video :-) The marsala sofa will be a lot easier to do than these togo sofa's as you dont need to deal with pleating
Very Nice!! How much fabric did you use?
Hi there, how did you wash the cover?
Hi,i took them to a coin laundry with the large "doona/ quilt" washing machine. I just washed them like regular clothes .put in the detergent and the softener ...done 😁
Hi Dave, I have a few pieces in black leather I picked up a few years ago. Formerly of Tasmania now in Dublin so wondering if you had details of the company in France that might my covers a go over? Thanks!
Will Gore :1. The company is ligne roset. If you have an original item there should be tags in the side and underneath it saying the company name... 2. Ligne roset will only replace covers of sofa's that are less than something like 5 years old . They dont do restoration work...if you have leather ones i recommend going to a leather specialist or furniture restorer!!!
Hahhaa...i re-read your question...must of answered when i was drunk last time...here is the email for the french company that does the covers ... funkyvintage@telenet.be
Hi David, I bought one of these from you about 10 years. I've never used it, what checks do I need to do before trying now please?
choboutube clean it with citric acid from woolies .that should get the scale out if it has been sitting awhile
@@davidfreeburn8592 Thanks for the speedy response!
choboutube food timing more than anything :-)
any idea where to get a replacement "button tag" to hold the button in place at the bottom?
Becca Rosen i doubt ligne roset would give you one...i think the best option is find someone with a 3D printer. Easy done cheaply
This video was extremely helpful, can’t thank you enough
thedeazy awesome...where are you? What did you do? Im curious Dave
david freeburn I’m in London. Getting a very similar used Roset sofa (Kashima) and this is the only useful piece of information I could find online related to what I need to do!
@@thedeazyteam same here. did you already start?
Is there anyone in California that offers this service?
hello stacy no idea stacy. Your best bet would be to find a quilt maker to make the covers and then take it to an upholsterer to put them on..
@hello Stacy I have the same problem. I’m being told it’s beyond most reupholster services expertise. I located in California as while. Did you ever find someone in California?
@@Lovverboi did you find someone? Really you need a quilt maker who has a "double needle stitcher"
@@davidfreeburn8592 no I haven’t. Thank for the advice,I’ll try looking for a Quilt maker
nice work ! what type of wire should you use for reassembly? thanks
Hugo Canivenc go to your local furniture restorer or small maker.ask them if you can buy "tafting cord" for buttons.they will know... basically if you can break it with your hands trying hard.no good.
Premium contact adhesive by SIKA (SIKA contact-4600AU) There were many speciality "for foam" glues .the ones i first tried were expensive and didnt actually contact to the old foam that well. This sika glue is wonderful.. admittedly the glue will dry a little harder than speciality foam glues but considering the age of this foam and the fact it is loosing a little rigity, its perfect!
What glue are you using?
Ls430 2001.they are all the same.the headlights have to e on for the washer to work
Whats the model year?
