Interesting...I lived in Buffalo, 1980-81.. NEVER went to Delaware Park, didn't know the City to Well. To bad at beginning, there's a Rose garden, that's brushed aside, could have been a High light worth sharing... Central Park in Schenectady NY, has a Large wonderful 🌹 ROSE GARDEN...

Quite a few of Serling's TZ episodes are set in the Binghamton area. "Mirror Image" mentions Binghamton and Cortland as being stops on the bus route one of the MCs is trying to get on. "A Stop at Wiloughby" is also said to be based on the small towns that surround Binghamton area. - I'm actually from the Binghamton area and have ridden the Recreation Park carousel along with the one at Ross Park.

All the weeds in the sidewalks, graffiti, street quality, etc... the city just looks run down and old / not maintained or cared for. Even if there is a rebounding occurring - the general aesthetics of the city matter. Ive been looking at places to move to, Buffalo being one of them. I really prefer cities that take pride in the small details.

Thanks for this lovely glimpse of the Binghamton carousel restoration honoring Rod Serling and for telling us your personal connection to it. I came here wishing I could see "Walking Distance" again, in a paroxysm of nostalgia for my childhood in Berkeley, so vivid in memory I feel like I can almost step back into it. We often rode on a carousel very much like this one. (And I was babysat as a baby by Einstein's granddaughter!)

Fantastic review, my friend. And just because I am not a Blue Jays fan (Go Braves!!!) that is still no excuse for me & my son to not drive down from our hometown of Toronto to take in a game at Coca Cola Field either. Especially now that Bisons have just recently called up *The Second Coming* Valdy Guerrero Jr. Not to mention just how damn nice the place looks both inside & out, as well. Especially in contrast to that concrete monstrosity the MLB Toronto Blue Jays call home. The outdated & downright ugly Rogers Centre. Yuck !!! Well hope that you & Ester (if there is still such a thing, that is) enjoy the rest of the 18’ season. P.S. I love the ol’ school ‘pants rolled up’ look, as well. Cheers !!!
