Earl gets his road runner
I purchased this car from a stranger in 2011 with intentions of restoring it to keep for myself. It was a big project and we were very happy with how the car turned out, we were going to change the wheel/tire package eventually and just keep fine tuning and tinkering with it.
The man in the black sweatshirt actually owned this car in the early 70's it was his very first car. When I got the car, it had the normal body and rust issues for a car of this age. But amazingly enough, the engine and transmission checked out to be original to the car. It was a true "numbers matching" 1969 road runner with 383 engine, 4 spd trans, air grabber hood, 3.23 sure grip gears, T7 bronze with a white vinyl...

just showing rear bow retainer links. These links pull everything towards the back window. unhook these and the bows can roll forward and unseat from their pockets allowing removal of headliner.

restoring a 69 bee. it was gutted when I got it. This helps. Thanks~!
What a wonderful story.
I had a charger growing up & I wish I could find it.
Is there something that clips over the serrated teeth edge to hold the fabric of the headliner in place? I am doing a 1970 Satellite and am looking at doing my own headliner install to save money. So looking for any help or advice at all. Thanks for the video.
Mark Draper , I’m doing a 68 satellite and I have the same question, did you ever figure out what goes on that ? Thanks
I had a 69 RR. Sold mine in the mid 80s. If someone drove up to my drive way in it today I would wholly Shit, I have missed you so much!
Great Video, very inspiring, my grandpa had a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner and we have been trying to get his back. Thank u for this video.

Nice stuff......absolutely beautiful car
Great car, great story and great people. Everybody wins. Thanks for posting.
Earl is a great guy, I'm sure I'll be able to visit the old road runner if I want to. :)
Amazing!!!! Dave & family, you put your heart & soul into the restoration of this car. I know it was hard for you to let it go. But you know it is in great hands. Truly amazing story!!!
Fun video. Looks like you live in a place where you can just take off from your house. If we had enough snow here and I did take off, I would have the cops after me. They might not catch me at the time but I'ts hard to say "It was'nt me" when you have a Tucker Sno-Cat parked in the driveway! Cool video.
I really like your Tucker, I wish mine was the rubber track version. Cool video. If you like, you can check out my steel tracker videos. Mine is a 1983 542A. Best regards.
