Pilots of today have it much easier. Ladies hardly wear sheers anymore. In fact they don't even wear underwear. We had to take all that armor off with our teeth. While flying upside down! In the thin air of "8 Miles High!" :-)

@mrceebees14: There are at least two Mk XII Spits in the film. You can see it on the clipped wing tips and the shape of the nose. Those have Griffon engines, not Merlins.

Great :D loved it... but in my opinion its dificult to be a old pilot nowadays ... spitfires and other fighters pilots didnt have computers, autopilots and sofisticated instruments, they learned strategies of war and aircombat...Airliner pilots are pilots too, they have other capacities and they need to know lot of theory....its a very diferent type of pilot... i think the best way to aproach to a old fighter is to buy a old fighter ot to try to join the air force...I love old fighter planes :D

thats not that hard i have realflight g3 and its pretty easy to barly hit the ground and knock the wind off and its easy to land it after that

Actually..it is pretty easy. Do a knofe edge and fly lower and lower until you clip the edge of the wing..and then go up and SLAM the plane into the ground. It will snap the wing...and there ya go. You need to keep the plane sideways when the wing is snapped off.

you can have 1 wing...and use tons of rudder...its jsut like ur knife edging!! It is hard to actually get the wing OFF though!!!! Once its off the plane is a little bit unstable...but its pretty much like a knife edge!!!

Great vid. Its always fun to go to the local GA airport and watch ATP pilots with thousands of hours trying to learn to fly a taildragger. Real pilots did live in the old days.
