Master These Boxing Footwork Techniques
SO TRUE👏🏼
The sound effects are on point
@@John-yo9jz hahaha I always loved that about Lewis. It made everything seem like it had more pop and snap and speed!
That hip rotation is EVERYTHING. Love these Joe Lewis videos!
What are those karate guys doing back there?
@@riyazqureshi7656 a little bit of chilling I suppose!
I'm not having that...if ur opponent I'd in front of you don't pull up your guard, any good counter fighter disproves that
@@harshmma1916 it’s partially my fault for not including the entire video… The last thing you want to do is stand directly in front of someone and cover up is the point. It’s better to move your hands, angle off, etc. The next part of the complete video put it all together. This is just one segment. Thanks for your comment, though!
What did he just teach? Nothing💯😂😂🤦
@@n.e.f.neverendingflow welcome to the channel! It’s only a 60 second reel, so you have to watch the longer version to get actual teaching… The point of the video is for people to understand that the last thing you want to do is to stand directly in front of someone and weave… Instead, you would want to move your hands first, get off at an angle second… it’s really my fault for not including the entire video! I’ve made it the recommended video off of this reel Great to have you here!
Keep them at range with your jab and set up your punches 🥊
So what do you do
telegraph bad, stealth good...............
Tyson weaves and he is amazing....
So great!
Joe Lewis was a legendary kickboxer.
Thank you
Grabbing can work great up close. Just don't latch on Goal is to redirect the force, making their arm go astray even a little breaks their kinetic linking and the blow isn't strong. Then just go at it with an elbow strike or whatever But boxing is a sport,so it's very different. That's why so many people just learn it to supplement other styles of fighting. It's useful but works best when coupled with some sort of grappling as is obvious now that we have ufc mma
Thats why Alex Pereria has so much power in his hook its the rotating of ghe body
Not exactly but sure .. I agree with u
@TheFitzy93 That body rotation is 100% why he has power like that in his hook. And it's what gave Mike Tyson the incredible punching power that he had for such a small heavyweight. It really is. A punch's real power comes primarily from the legs & core, and very little from the arm swing itself. Throwing a powerful lead left hook is almost completely about legs & core and rotating those hips. There's alot of boxers and kickboxers out there who barely even swing their arm but maybe 4 or 5 inches when throwing a lead left hook, and nearly everything is just hip rotation.
Interesting 🤔
Anyone gonna acknowledge the right hook to the face with no gloves on 😭😭😭😭
Pure gold

Two words: Excellent instruction!
Dude he's so right. Pay attention
Wouldn't it be harder to hit a moving target? The best boxers i know do a lot of weaving.
@@halfkimchi45 YES. And that is the purpose of it for sure. This is my fault for not posting the entire video. I am attaching a related video that shows the entire clip so you understand the context. Thanks for your comment, welcome to the channel!
Why don't you teach how Jake Paul walks? A REAL winner
Didn’t Joe Lewis pass away
I remember the movie force five back in the day .
Whats the 3rd?!?!?!?
Go ahead.
💯🙏
@youtube Please put more letters, buttons and search bars on top of the shorts videos, I need the other half of screen covering what I'm actually trying to see
Hey man! Explain a little more what you are requesting, I'll do my best!
@@Gloveuptraining I was trying to get RUclips's attention not yours. Sorry!
My grandfather Bob Wall, who owned a series of martial arts schools with Joe Lewis in Southern California back in the day, spoke really highly of him and his skills and knowledge - and after seeing this clip, it’s clear why.
Your Grandfather was Bob Wall? That is sick. What a martial artist, a legend himself!
@ yes he was, and thank you! He had a lot of amazing stories about all kinds of other legends like Bruce Lee and Gene LeBell, too.
@@merrittjason That is crazy! Honored to have you on the channel!
I thought it was common knowledge not to weave when you’re that close
What’s the 3 rd timing ?
This dude is a Destroyer, no doubt! Excellent control, but Very Ready to Do Damage!
How about not flaring out your elbow as Jack Dempsey explains what the power or center line is? That and weight transfer not just turning but dropping the weight from leg to leg.
There is a way Joe teaches that makes some if these boxing techniques so much more understandable.
They told Mike to bite his glove whenever he seen a opening 😂😂😂
@@HolatOfBoxing bahaha love this comment
Mike Tyson in his prime… All he did was weave and duck.
@@dsulli7383 check out our other video on Defense to see the entire clip. He is not saying, do not weave, he’s saying it is the most complicated and the most advanced. Elite level fighters do that. Most other people cannot. Also, Tyson is not actually ducking the punches… He is in motion so that the punches miss most of the time there is a huge difference! I appreciate your comment! And Tyson was the master at it. Welcome to the channel!
Power comes from the legs
Yes sir!
Tabeoo class
Thunder punches! It's another level from another world...amazing Joe Lewis!
...so the back foot moves from 6 o'clock, to around 7 o'clock, to slip out of the attackers right hand counter punch?
I can't weave often because I'm taller than most of the people I spar, but I'm definitely doing it if I go against someome bigger. Its not really that hard
ie jabbing out in boxing
I can't remember, but did Michael J White train under him as well at one point? I thought he mention that in an interview but I may be misremembering.
wow what a perfect example of a martial arts lesson. this is real shit
That was golden information
Sound advice
Some guys are able to do it
