    I'm sorry, but your pronounciation is mistaken. In Italian, "c" followed by "h" is always pronounced like "k" in English. So it should be pronounced the "Lukkeene" Gambit

    Here's an interesting position: White: K on a1, B on f3, N on F1 Black: K on e1 White to move and mate in 33 moves: 1. Bg2 Kd1 2. Kb2 Ke2 3. Kc2 Kf2 4. Bh3 Ke2 5. Kc3 Kf3 6. Kd4 Kf4 7. Be6 Kg5 8. Ke5 Kg6 9. Ne3 Kg7 10. Kf5 Kh7 11. Kf6 Kh8 12. Bf7 Kh7 13. Ng4 Kh8 14. Ne5 Kh7 15. Ng6 Kh6 16. Bg8 Kh5 17. Ne5 Kh4 18. Kf5 Kg3 19. Ng4 Kg2 20. Bc4 Kf3 21. Bf1 Kg3 22. Be2 Kh4 23. Nf2 Kg3 24. Ne4+ Kh4 25. Kf4 Kh3 26. Kg5 Kg2 27. Kg4 Kh2 28. Bf1 Kg1 29. Bh3 Kh2 30. Ng5 Kg1 31. Kg3 Kh1 32. Bg2+ Kg1 33. Nh3# Best I can tell, these are best possible moves for both white and black, so this might be one of the positions that requires the full 33 moves theoretically required to mate. But if anyone can come up with a tougher position, or can show a shorter route to mate for white, or a better defense for black, I'd love to see it! ;-)

  • @rickideemus
    @rickideemus 4 года назад

    At 7:12, a brilliant move would be 1. Bc7+, forcing Ke8, cause if ... Kc8 2. Ne7#! So 7:12 1. Bc7+ Ke8 2. Kd6 Kf7 3. Bd8 (you already have black's king in the smaller triangle) Ke8 4. Bg5 Kf7 5. Nf4 and mate in 9 more moves. [edit: fixed a typo]

    • @187chess6
      @187chess6 4 года назад

      I provided a more systematic approach to every position. If we take the best moves for every position there will not be any human element in chess.

    • @rickideemus
      @rickideemus 4 года назад

      @@187chess6 Here's my human reason for liking Bc7+: there's a real chance black will play Kc8 resulting in immediate mate! That's just too cool not to notice. ;--) Also, the W maneuver for this mate was known for a century before computers could even play chess. That's optimal as well, and honestly pretty easy for human types. Nice job on the video. I'm way too lazy to make one -- another human trait.
