      Yes. Since 2010, pit stops with refuel have stopped for good.

    And the NASCAR stop was only two tires! I think F1 speed on pit road is quite faster than NASCAR, one lug wheels (NASCAR has that now), as opposed to 5 lugs, Two Jack men with much lighter car, everyone waiting in the pit with the tires, two guys per tire, no fuel. A lot less steps with more people. It’s totally awesome to watch a pit stop in under 2 seconds.

    NASCAR has 1 middle lug nut not 5 lug nuts, and they only changed the right side of tires unlike the f1 got all tires changed and fuel

    • @NickolasZannithakis
      @NickolasZannithakis Месяц назад

      NASCAR cars have one middle nut since 2022, with the new generation. Before that year, they had five lug nuts. This video released seven years ago, so it was the period when NASCAR cars had still five lug nuts. Also, there is no refueling in F1 since 2010.

    The reason F1 is faster is because they only change one big lugnut in NASCAR there are 5. 20 lugnuts and 6 people.

  • @jort93z

    Why would you only change 2 tires? seems pretty aweful for handling. But I guess they only go in circles anyway...

    • @HPayne62
      @HPayne62 4 месяца назад

      It's not the best for handling but you can manage. When you're only going one direction, unless something is really weird with your car, the tires on the outside of the car are going to wear more because they have the most force to resist during cornering. It kind of sucks to drive with for a little bit but two tires is only half the time of a four tire pit stop and can get you a lot of spots on pit road if you really need them and you don't think the next run will be very long. The most common time you'll see this is right when you're getting to the end of a race and there's a caution in the last few laps after a short time out.

  • @BryantHarris-g4o
    @BryantHarris-g4o 8 месяцев назад

    I think they are just two completely different things. The obvious rule differences lead to very different visions of what a pit stop means. In the F1 sense, it's the absolute limit of what's possible with no cost, with NASCAR it's intentionally limiting the crew size and technology to make the individuals apply more teamwork.

  • @petercollins7730
    @petercollins7730 8 месяцев назад

    Nascar fastest 4 tire pitstop with the new single-lug wheels is 8.45 seconds. Fastest F1 pitstop is 1.86 seconds. That's an Olympic sprinter compared to a beer-league softball guy running to first.

    Recommended this randomly, and not sure what it's comparing really? This can't be compared, considering the NASCAR had only half of the car serviced in the pitstops and f1 doesn't do refueling in the current era which takes up the majority of the time? NASCAR could obviously be closer to f1 if refueling wasnt a thing, and f1 doesn't always need 20 people as some people are wing adjustments/replacements ect so it can be lower than that? When f1 was in the refuelling stage like 20 years ago, the pitstops were typically 6-8 seconds depends on fuel load been added to the car as the wheels were generally done the same time as now.

    • @HPayne62
      @HPayne62 4 месяца назад

      I don't know all the context around this but this is most frequently done when you don't have a lot of laps left in the race and you need to pick up positions under caution. The right side tires will almost always take the most wear so you can sometimes get away with just changing those and leaving the lefts on.
