Funny, and also because Griff in particular featured in a lot of adverts. Also, the third advert plonker in the sketch is Daniel Peacock from the Comic Strip Presents, son of Trevor (Jim in Vicar of Dibley) and brother of Harry (Ray Fn Purchase from Toast of London).

Yeah, Danny Peacock must've given up on any future 'Do It All' adverts coming his way.

The music here sounds very similar to the original opening intro titles of Conan, Conan O'Brien's talk show on TBS from 2010.

No. That music sounds similar to this. I assure you that this has been around for much longer.

ruclips.net/video/rVhto-jt438/видео.html And the genius of getting Danny Peacock to send up the very adverts that put food on his table! (And yes, that’s Big Ron Tarr in the Do-It-All advert too)

Largely based on the Do It All adverts from the 80s. It even has one of the same actors as far as I can make out: ruclips.net/video/i5P7KyMLZAY/видео.html

And the British meat adverts. Danny Peacock appeared in the British Lamb advert, and the "what, no work?" bit is a direct piss take of the "what, no meat?" lines from the British lamb advert. The British Lamb advert also had a Madness like tune. Also, I suspect when the parody mentions attending RADA and putting on a cockney accent they are taking the piss out of John Sessions, who did attend RADA and appeared in the British Lamb advert as a faux cockney.

You know a comedy sketch is successful when you find it funny, yet are completely unfamiliar with what they're spoofing.

"And halfway through the advert we hold up one of these" What is it that they're holding up? It looks like something from a gynecologist's examination room, but that can't be what it is.

You may not get the joke about the agents. In the 70s/80s there was a hugely popular series called minder about a dodgy businessman called Arthur Daley, a sort of lovable rogue who's a bit of a coward, so he has a hard man to look after him, hence Minder, but the Minder (played by Dennis Waterman) only gets tough with the REAL nasty characters. All the agents in his clip are dressed like Arthur Daley. For an example, type "Minder Typical Arthur Daley" in the search box.

He was an icon from ads for Hofmeister lager, and around the time of the sketch there was much controversy about his appeal to children - eventually the ads were forced off the air (thus down the Job Centre)
