The company that made the launch components for Superman is still very much a thing. Intrasys provided the LSM launch components for Superman & to this day provides LSM launch components for a variety of manufacturers including B&M, Gerstlauer, Premier Rides, & Mack Rides.

@MegaMarmotYT parts underneath scream and scheduled for refurbishment on the park website, it's clear that it's at least got one more year, it probably won't open on time, but it should be operational for the summer of 2025

​@@ThemeparkanxietyI agree, from what it looks like, that second train hasn't received any updates for a while, it just sits there collecting dust. Cedar Fair will probably pull the plug, people will say that the park will never remove X2, but look what happened to rides like volcano and Kingda Ka, rides that many thought would be around for generations, now permanently gone. It's best to keep a close eye and get your rides in while you can. Because now Cedar Fair right now is unpredictable when they close rollercoasters

@@joshuacastellon7508the second train gets taken out on most Saturdays and also during fright fest they were using it. I personally think Magic Mountain has been given a heads up about this ride being too expensive and are seldomly using that second train to try and save wear and tear on it. It’s worth noting that the train they store (Train 1) is actually the more recently refurbished train compared to train 2 which they operate. This sorta backs up my claim. If that second train goes down and corporate says “alright that’s it” Magic Mountain can come back with “Hey, we still have that perfectly good train over there that we can run for awhile longer” and then use that time to say hey come get your last rides in. Many enthusiasts give this park flack and I get it, but trust me, having become personal friends with many people who work there they do care. They’ve fought for Viper for years, in this video those parts under scream look like they somehow convinced corporate to get new LSM stators for Superman. If this is somehow the only way they are able to get a few more years out of X2 then so be it. If corporate wants it to go its gonna go, but if they can do this and reduce the cost enough for a few years until maybe there’s a change of heart they are going to try it. 100% though get out and ride it, I’m not at all saying this “plan” is going to work out for them unless the financial health and debt of the merged companies seriously improves

@tankart150 Your probably out of luck for Superman unfortunately… the chances of a reopening are a huge question mark right now but I’d expect some big news to drop early next year

It’s holding the side of the mountain up until the 3 huge retaining walls are built for the new coaster

They definitely had trouble getting some of these open on time with the park which is always super annoying

Superman needs to go. Loud, ugly, not exciting and a constant maintenance headache. Superman, Viper and X2 are all money pits that have long outlived their lives or have too many issues.

Yeah that was the train they used for the midcourse block check so it always crawls its way back to the station

They said it was gonna be a first of it's kind in North America so dive coaster is out of the question.

@seanlewis114 Great question with a long answer, first and foremost I would like to see a complete overhaul of Samurai Summit. First remove the old outdated building infrastructure (Laughing Dragon & Eagle Flight buildings). I would replace the Eagles Flight building with an S&S Screamin’ Swing obviously oriented in a way to fit between the horseshoe element of Tatsu & the 2nd lift of Ninja. I think a ride like that would be perfect on top of the mountain. Next replace Laughing Dragon with either another flat or a new dinning location but built from the ground up also would need a new restroom built as well. For SEFK I would explore the possibility of replacing the old LSM’s with the newer slim model that’s used today to get the launch back up to 100mph or more and implement a new train that allowed the cars to rotate adding a new dimension of thrill. Essentially, the train could launch you forward & at the top of the tower the car rotates you so now you’re facing the ground. Would like to see the ride re-themed to better fit in Samurai Summit theme as well remove the DC theme. Moving over to Ninja, obviously full refurb new paint, clean up the queue & station, nothing major. Magic Mover I would replace with a more modern funicular system as the setup they run now uses cars from 1970. Update the name and better integrate it into the Samurai Summit theme. Finally, for Sky Tower even if the park has no plans to reopen it at the very least I’d like to see a full exterior repaint & if a reopening is possible than give it new elevators & refurbished observation deck as well.

One of those perplexing things about Magic Mountain why run 2 on Viper when the ride is literally always a walk on, just run 1 & save on maintenance. The more popular rides should be the ones running multiple trains if possible.

Better replace it before the whole motor blows a fuse.

Batman & Scream used a lower quality paint for their respective repaints hence why they are fading in the CA sun. Tatsu & Goliath are using a better quality uv resistant paint. A good comparison is X2 & Viper. Both were repainted in 2008 but X2 used a higher quality paint & Viper did not.

They Better not remove X2, that coaster is Basically a Landmark in America, and the only one of it's kind here.

Grading fails for all kinds of reasons it's normal they just need to compact the hillside. Years of erosion have probably affected the hillside cant put a coaster up without a stable foundation.

Speculation on my part here but the grading permit is likely related to the stability of the hillside hence why the stairs are still in place & the 3 retaining walls will support the hillside once complete. For X2 & Viper it's definitely an area to keep an eye on, although maintenance is working on X2's third train & Viper has all 3 trains at the ride so I think it's safe to say any removal is unlikely for now...

Hopefully the retrack is the answer to that

Apocalypse was _not_ rough in Dec or 22. On the 24th & 25th I managed over 40 rides & it became a semi-favorite GCI, just under Thunderhead, Mystic Timbers & Gold Striker. I find most who claim roughness on a wood coaster are enthusiasts who prefer _extreme_ smoothness such as most RMCs & B&Ms provide. Viper, now _that's_ rough! Giant Dipper at Belmont, too, unfortunately. I believe RMC has helped increase the expectations of coaster people to where the definition of "rough" has changed significantly over the past 10-15 years. I've ridden all the U.S. wood coasters, most of Europe's & around 30 defunct. I did not find Apocalypse rough in late 2022. That said, Six Flags often does a poor job of re-tracking and maintaining their wood coasters.
