Super simple DIY Built-Ins with pocket holes and brad nails!
Building professional quality custom built ins doesn't have to be difficult. I built this pair with pine 2x4's, 1/4" plywood and some 3/4" common pine boards. Paint color is Tricorn Black from Sherwin Williams.

First time building this style desk...what could go wrong?
Просмотров 488Месяц назад
This L-shape desk was one of my favorite builds to date. This was the first time I had attempted to joint the top together by 45 degree miters instead of a simple edge joint. These boards started at 8' long x 9" wide, but the final dimensions were 61" long on each end x 21" deep. I also added leveling feet due to the house being over 100 years old, and the floor sagged in spots. Let me know if ...

So much easier to paint your wood before you cut and nail😊
Definitely!
Dude, that's amazing
Thank you!
what color is the stain i love it , work on a project for myself now .
That one was either provincial or dark walnut from minwax.
Wtf is the conditioner...
Minwax pre stain conditioner. It makes pine take stain better and not as blotchy.
Nice! I need to practice more with pocket holes
I’m going to take 731 spot for pocket hole king 😂
Great video. Thx for sharing!
Thanks for the feedback! It’s much appreciated
Ужас.....покрась потом собери
So smooth and satisfying! 👍
Yep! I add wax to them slots sometimes if they need it
And?
It got you to comment? Why are you a huge waste bucket?
Buen truco, además del Router este tambien es funcional
👍🏻
Nice commission, and good looking desk! I'm sure they were happy.
Thank you!
Looks good brother , pipes great when done right like this build. Hardwood are ridiculously expensive, so I'm with you pine works great. Anyways lot of furniture now days are made of cheaper materials were pine better and stronger and last way longer. Looking forward for more build videos. Good stuff
Thank you so much for the kind words! I try to support small businesses and custom pieces rather than IKEA and walmart any day as well.
No jointer? Just get an even more expensive tool! Problem solved!
Thanks for the reply! I actually use the track saw for much more than this, so it's more beneficial for me to do it this way than using a jointer.
Hey can you help me out on this topic. If i use polyurethane oil to coat a natural gut string, will it help to strengthen the natural gut so it at least wont snap until it gives up. Does polyurethane oil flakes if the string bends? I still have more questions
I have no idea to be honest with you. I know when I apply it to the wood, it takes about 24 hours to fully dry. Water based polyurethane might be better for you because it dries faster.
was that mineral spirits you rubbed it down with after the sanding ?
I just wipe it down with water and let it dry after sanding.
Best to build them if you have a big cnc machine. There titles and take long and people don't want to pay alot for chair. And building a chair takes long I've done it 2 days for one chair wild. I would have to sale it for least 650 and up just to make little profit. Your right better to buy them and paint them your self
I’d love to have a cnc! I’ve built a few custom stools and it’s not too bad, but this way is more efficient for business reasons.
What’s the way to do it?
Not like this
Get a longer hole saw.
Smart! That one was old and dull too.
Дырка под пузырь?😂
That hole was for charging port
Who’s got a grampa like this!?!? 😂
😆
3m is the best. Shop smith is a close 2nd and some applications 1st.
I love the xtract. I used to use Diablo from Home Depot and it’s night and day
Да поставь ты банку перед носом,чего ты бегаешь?😂😂😂
How long do you let it sit before wiping off?
The first coat I usually wipe off after a minute or so. That way if you want it darker you can add another coat. It’s way easier to go darker, can’t go lighter.
The wet fart at the end 😂
😂
Easy money baby
🔥🔥
It iz a noice color ..🤙
😂👍🏻
Что, сильно орёт? 😂😂😂
Nice! What color? Do you have a video of the build?
I’m editing the video as we speak. The color is special walnut
Thanks for the info!
Sir, you really need to use a pusher board. I speak from experience. Sh1t happens. Just sayin
Ah yes Pine, the Cadillac of trees..
😂👍🏻
Kinda missed the corner. Those angles and lengths are off too.
Oooooof.
Dude, you can drive a hummer through those gaps, just do a half lap.
Can you change the router bit without removing the router from the table? Thanks for the video.
Yes you can! You just lower is to get to the button on the router
@@paynescarpentry Great, thanks for the fast reply
Yes sir! Anytime
No le eches tanto pegamento que se te acaba, we 😆😆
Milled 80 some boards of hemlock for a sauna build last year. I feel yah on how long it takes. 😂
I feel your pain LOL
Looks good
Thank you!
How do you like your delta I have a skil 10 inch jobsite tablesaw. Planing to upgrade to a bigger saw. I can not afford a sawstop or anything in that range. But looking at the delta you have or the ridgid one that similar to the delta.
Honestly I love mine. As long as you keep a sharp blade and make sure it’s square, it’s a great saw. Look into the rigid table saw, it’s the exact same one. I don’t think delta sells them for the same price anymore.
Jealous of ppl w passions
Amen
Looks better without the add ons I think. Either way good clean work
Yeah I agree!
Get a small cyclone separator, like from the Bauer Harbor Freight, and put it on the lid of that trash can. You can even put a plastic bag in for ease of emptying. Very little dust sneaks out the top. If you want a little better filtration, rig a large shop vac filter for the top hole on the cyclone.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely give that a try.
What was the point of it? Looked just fine
I was just following some plans honestly and wanted to try it.
brilliant!
Thank you!
Looks good nice work bother
Thank you!
Sharp bit, cut the cross section smooth.
Love whiteside so far
💕 "Promo SM"
Need one of these to cut my toe nails
😂
Have a feeling by end of year your channel will blow. Nothing but blessings bother.
Thank you so much! Blessings to you as well!
? Which model of your delta is that. I was thinking of getting a slight bigger tablesaw. I have a 10 inch skil jobsite one. As you know there limited , but that was what I could afford at the time.
This one is the Delta 36-725t2. I don't think they make them anymore, but rigid makes the exact same one now. I haven't had any issues.
@@paynescarpentry they still sell them at Lowes. I got one in December.
Love mine!
Lot of wood workers don't show there mistake. But in Reality even the best woodworker makes mistake, fact. Respect bother love your channel
Much appreciated brother!
No edging?
I offered but the customer didn’t want any.
Those upside down dados is exactly something I would do 🤦♂️ we’ve all been there lol
If you don't make one mistake on a project, did you really even build anything?
