Thanks for this! I had assumed the solo mode was part of the KS package and missed the update where it said I needed to add it as a separate add-on in the pledge manager after the campaign. I mean, who does that?!? Anyway, thanks to your video, I was able to reconstruct the solo mode and make myself a print-n-play version and could just try it myself. Quite enjoyable!
I came here because I missed the add on for the solo cards. Funny thing is, I mainly play solo. I got the base game + expansion set + 2 player version, making it possible to have a 6 player game. Thank you for showing the QR code for the rules and (somewhat) all of the cards. I guess I'll be making them and printing them myself.
Looks like your column around the 30-minute mark violates the rule about road sticks not being allowed to cross over columns? Is that correct? The perspective makes it look like you placed the column right underneath.
@@btharveyku08 Its highly possible :p I always do my best to make aure I play accordingly, though I had fun regardless.
I’ll say this-every gamer has played games by incorrect rules; it happens. I played Skyrim right before I found these videos, and I realized while I was playing that “in one encounter” is an important difference. It’s a thick rule book, plus you were playing while filming. In any event, I’m looking forward to watching your Campaign 2.
Are you sure you can always go up or down when there's a yellow junction on the card? Rules are ambiguous.
@@JeanCharlesRenaud In the solo rules there is a swction for both junctions with regular cards that have junctions, as well as the up/down cards that have junctions. When junctions are first mentioned it just says a junction may be placed of you choose. When junctions are brought up again, during the up down section, it states "if there is a junction symbol on the cards, there is no limit -" "-as long as it follows the insteuctions to go up or down." As a result I would take the seperation of junctions rules to mean that if it comes up on a regular card you cannot move the column up or down, but if it comes up on an up or down card, you can move it up or down to any height. I probably messed that up while played :p, but that seems to be how the rules are written. Hopefully that helped! Thanks for stoppijg by, its greatly appreciated
Lately I've been wanting another board games are for everybody and finally my wishes are granted 😂
@@harris741 Just trying to give the people what they want :p Thank you for stopping by, it's greatly appreciated!
Thank You. ❤
I'm picking up an expansion now that I beat the base game. I can't decide between them. Any thoughts?
You may have discarded 405 from the close of 2.2. In that case you take 406. It was a fun campaign, and I just ended my run.
Sorry see that was already pointed out. Really liked this game, and watching some others play.
I just finished this chapter. My glass dagger was a champion lol
I had this board game as a kid. I found it aggravatingly difficult to understand how to play, and still do. How do you know what direction to move in, when to go from high to low altitude, when to blow something up, etc.? How does the roll of the dice tie into how the ship moves, shoots and changes altitude? Artwork was cool enough though. The classic video games of the early 80's didn't translate well to the board game format.
Quite a few mistakes here. Quite misleading. Leaving this video up will only hurt people's engagement with the game. This is very unfair on the designer.
@@kolomahler Yes, there are mistakes. People make mistakes. Its been revised and reuploaded. That video is linked both in the video and is the pinned comment, which you likely saw before making this comment. Deleting the video would mean pretending mistakes dont happen and nothing was learned from it. Thank you for stopping by, its always appreciated
@@boardgamesareforeverybody2501 Wonderful! Then this one can be deleted
This is actually a good video thank you! It doesn't look as difficult as I first imagined 😎
@@The_Crimson_Wolf_ Thanks for stopping by! Definately a lot easier than the rules make it seem :p Some stuff I missed l, or misinterpreted, has been cleared up in the comments. Glad it was helpful though!
@@boardgamesareforeverybody2501 My only question so far is the kamae with the warrior... So do you just collect the focus and then move it to the next spot since the focus isn't a spot itself? I.e. either that path going straight up or left. My question might be answered by watching the rest of your video (I'm gonna get back to watching it later today).
@@The_Crimson_Wolf_ correct! The focus spot isnt an actual spot. As a result you just take your focus token and continue along the path. If there are multiple directions that can be chosen, you choose either. Likewise, since the focus spot cant be landed on, you also cant choose to place your token there when given the opportunity to move to any space on the track
@@boardgamesareforeverybody2501 Thanks! What happens if you attack an opponent and they don't have focus tokens? Is it basically a scratch? Do they suffer additional wounds or some status?
@@The_Crimson_Wolf_ Focus tokens are only used in order to use attacks that require a focus to be spent. If a player doesn't have a focus token, then playing a card that requires focus is an invalid move. I don't remember what the rulebook says in the event a player plays a card and doesn't have the focus to play it. You could A) Inform the player that the card is invalid, as they have no focus, and allow them to play another card, B) Have both players play a new card so that they dont have info on what you played, or C) chalk it up to a mistake on their part for making an invalid play and proceed with the turn order with them unable to activate their card. Definitely something that could be house ruled to suit how you want your game to run. Hopefully that helped a little.
Simple game ❤❤❤
Good video and explanation but lets be honest, this video could have been 3 minutes instead of 13 😂😂
1:04:00 is broken, if you buy an item x coins less, you can sell for the original price and make a infinite coins 😂😂😂
Thats is definately a good play! Cant believe I didnt realize that.
The card says that in those cities, items are CHEAPER. You don't sell at the original price. The move you can make is to load up on spells and go sell in another city or wait for the event to end.
@@luizcfsob That is correct, yeah. You would have to go to another city to sell them afterwards.
Movement can be mixed the way you want if it is in the same line on the card, for example if you can move 3 spaces forward and 2 rotations you can move 1 space, rotate, move 2 spaces and rotate again. That is actually in the rulebook. Regarding extended movement, it is being used on a larger battlefields(not the one you got, much larger map is included in one of the upgrades to the game) as you need to be more than 6 hexes away from opponent(I believe in straight line). The way it works is, you can move up to 3 hexes instead of 1 but you have to stop immediately when your character moves to within 6 hexes of opponent. That rule actually is in a rulebook but picture above it is incorrectly showing character moving within 4 hexes to opponent, what contradicts the rule. And finally block rules I think you got it wrong, block works ONLY at the initiative speed blocking character choose. So if attacker strikes at initiative 5, blocker needs to pick 5 as a blocking initiative. Any other hits within any other(higher or lower)initiative steps will be not blocked. Also if block is successful blocking character usually can counter attack, there will be small shield icon with number next to it saying at what initiatives blocker can counter attack.
@@MichaelThorage thank you for the response on corrections! Cant always get everything right, there are just so many rules :p Ots good to know movement can be broken up, the rules made it seem like you had to choose to do one first but that makes it feel so much less restrictive. That restriction is what makes me think that your comment in initiatove for blocking seems off. Not that im saying it is of course. Having to choose the exact same initiative as your opponents attack seems way too complex to ever be able to block accurately without blindly guessing and hoping for the best. If that is the case, I would personally house rule it as a quicker initiative will activate the block. Thank you for stopping by and helping out with clarifications!
@@boardgamesareforeverybody2501 Rulebook is very confusing and badly written, I agree on that :D .Regarding blocking you do not guess, blocking character choose initiative after all cards being revealed(page 24-reveling cards timing sequence) and only at that initiative speed attacks are being blocked. That blocking rule is described in the rulebook page 19 just above the Counters section. I guess that game will have so many different ways to play as many players is going to play it due to unclear ruleset.
@@MichaelThorage They choose last? That maks much more sense. So if two people we attacking one person, for instance, the could only block one attack? I will have to keep that in mind.
@@boardgamesareforeverybody2501 only if those two people would attack at different initiative speeds, then yes only one would be blocked. If both would attack at the same speed, then both would be blocked.
> Movement can be mixed the way you want if it is in the same line on the card [...] Yes and no afaik - you can choose whether you want to move first and rotate later or the other way round but you cannot make a partial move then rotate and then spend the rest of your movment points. Because that would counter the rule that when moving you have to move in a straight line (p15 "Moving your Character") > That is actually in the rulebook. Could you pls state version and page of the rulebook where this can be found? (since I've tried to find it in the "Jan24 Rulebook Errata v1.1" myself without success)
Do you have some pictures of the rules? I would love to read in detail how it works
My family still doesn’t know the rules after the vid and me explaining it
I think I am missing some of my weapon cards, but I'm not sure... I cant find the Yari cards, for example. Ive emailed the publisher of the game but not sure if I can get the missing cards.
I used to have that game as a kid
Can you jump on focus space on kame tree to get focus token?
To my understanding of the rules you are not allowed to jump to a focus spot, as the spot itself cannot be occupied. The only way to get a focus token is to move passed it during a movement on the track. In saying that, if you found it more streamlined, you could house rule that you can jump to the focus space, then move to the next space in line.
You cannot jump onto the focus space when executing a "switch to any Kamae" - simply because the focus point is not a Kamae. Only Aggression, Balance, Determination and Neutral count as Kamaes (and Neutral is explicitly excluded as target of a "switch to any Kamae" by the rules)
I have the expansion but there are no instructions with it other than the cards like the one you started with. How do you know that 'Ghosts of Cyrodiil' is the first one to do (is there an order?) and is it only for free roam mode ?
If I remember correctly, I believe I just did them in release order. In any case in the order I purchased them. Im not sure that any of them are "first". You could probably get away woth playing any of them. As far as free play is concerned, I know some of the expansions have story beats, I cant remember if this one did however. Id say it likely works best in free roam
great video! i got the whole set everything for this and the gamefund stuff for $280 so I got sorta lucky! just trying to find out about the game lol
Nice! Hopefully you enjoy it. It a fun play, but fell off pretty early for me. By the time I got through all the expansions I wasn't having as good a time with it. In any case, hopefully you have a good time with it!
Excelent explanation. I'm from Brazil and i just got my Senjutsu boardgame, but i admit that the rulebook its confuse sometimes. There's no official translation from my language, so thank's for the video. Help's me a lot.
I'm glad it was able to help you! That was what I had hoped it would do for some people when I made it, as we had trouble ourselves finding information on the rules. Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the game!
Hi, I had some questions about defense cards and rules. If could you help me, ill aprecciate it. I just block one hex and thats the hex i choose in the begin of the turn? For example, there are defense cards, such as "Obedience" (Student's deck), which shows 3 hexes to block, but doesn't specify an initiative number. In this case, all 3 hexes are blocked, regardless of the number of advantage chosen, if the initiative is greater than the opponent's attack? In contrast, there's the card "Ember Block" (Warriors Deck) where there are also 3 possible hexes to defend, but in this case, right at the bottom, there's a number 8. I couldn't understand what the card meant. Can I block only on initiative 8? Some cards especify the ahead hexes with numbers, in this case, the defense only Works in The number o choose as initiative? Hope you understand...My english its not Very good.
@@miguelvo If I understand what you are asking, you are more or less asking about initiative in regards to defending an attack? If that is the case, the way I understand it is that Defense cards block provided they have a stronger initiative than the opponent (It makes sense to me that you would need to raise your shield in anticipation of an attack opposed to raising your shield after the attack has happened). You could also view it that so long as you meet the requirements of defending an attack (you shield icons covering all of your opponents attacking squares, or your shield icons covering the opponents location) that it defends regardless of priority. I suppose it is something that could be agreed upon as a house rule of sorts if you find some defenses aren't quick enough. But it could also be argue it factors into the strategy. In any case, hopefully that explanation helped a little bit!
The plus symbol litterally means you take the Stun card PLUS the Kamae change.
@49:38 is the skilling defense an error?
These add-ons are horribly overpriced but milking their base is their main MO these days.
They are unfortunately pretty pricey for the amount of actually content in the boxes.
Detailed review, keep it up!
May I know, have you play SENJUTSU by any chance?
I got Final girl this week, just grabbed the ghost box because it was the only one left on sale so I thought "if i dont like it i didnt lose much" and while its overwhelming at first, it makes sense just the specifics can get confusing especially for a newbie to solo board games like me where games i played been traditional family friendly with kids. So watching this helps me to understand it visually aswell as listening. I can play a little with you to get a better feel for it so when I get to play properly I am not constantly stopping and second guessing my understanding. THANK YOU!! Only garage that doesn't lead to the outside are horror scene garages, been in many myself Residence Evil, Phasmophobia and other horror games lol Edit:Also that Action Card was pulled out of your hand by the poltergeist ;)
That’s a cool way to do it with the alphabet dice. Good thing you didn’t roll FU for your first name.😅
I knew Id find a use for the die eventually! RIP "FU" the Warrior :p
You are correct rules say you cant go over the top if your board.. if one player gets to where they can't legally place a piece on the board they end their game and have to wait out all other turns until the other player(s) finish the game
Glade to see a new video of yours hope you can reach the suscribers you need keep going whit the good content greetings from mexico
Thank you! And thank you for stopping by. Its always greatly appreciated
I messed up and mixed up all the cards and now I don't know which are the tutorial specific 😅😅😅
It looks as if you're using Campaign 1, chapter 1 as a "substrate" over which you are adding the ghosts? Or is this free roam? Because the events don't seem to support that. I'm frankly confused on how you're supposed to play.
Thank you so much for making an unboxing video! Sorry about the bent rulebook, but I hope you enjoy the expansion content and stickers.
Very much so enjoying the content of the expansion so far. Still one of our favorite games on the shelf, so always nice to see more. The stickers specifically have given a little new life to the board with the visual charm, but man did it take us so long do sticker them all! We did find that all the sticker allowed for double sided stickering of the pieces with the acceptation of the grey tokens (I normally just call them wells, but I know they can be other things as well), where we have maybe four or five that could only be stickered on one side. In any case, we have still been enjoying the new content! Thanks for the comment, it's always appreciated
Any news of this coming to Europe, maybe even localized? :-) In love with this game and don't want to miss this upgrade!
@@verdicktrobin AEG typically works with European partners, but I don't know of any news specific to this expansion. Fingers crossed! Thanks for he kind words 😁

Gracias desde España por este gran tutorial. Greetings from Spain for this great tutorial. It´s very helpful.
WOW :) solo version .
I picked this up at a thrift store years ago. Super fun game! Can't find anyone else willing to play, so mostly just solo it. Thanks for this video!
Tetris is so fun!
As my first board game... i feel like im so over my head lol Have not even touched the 5 other expansion boxes yet
It can definately be oberwhelming. But just keep at it! Refer to the rules when needed if that helps you. Ive also opted not to touch the expansions until I go through the base game. No need to add more rules onto a game I am learning :p
In the capital you can discard gp not other staff for gain xp
Thats correct yeah! Breifly mixed it up with cooking which can be done as an extra action, and for that you discard resources.
Did the vamprye slayer last night with 3 players, very fun! had some hiccups from learning but thats how it goes
For sure, I'm definitely bad for making mistakes even AFTER learning :P It happens. So long as you are having fun, thats what matters.
How do you get your stuff back if you die on the previous campaign? I didn't get my item back.
I haven't encountered death yet. Well... Sort of anyways. I should say I haven't had the need to reread the section of the rulebook for what happens when you die :P So unfortunately im not too sure.
I've just had the Death Token start at the next campaign where it last was in the previous one.
Vocal Fry!!!!
Level 99 puts so much content into their products, they put a game in the game!
The song of time
Is that the song of storms on your forearm?
It it the song if time. Was going to go with the song of storns, but felt the song if time was a better representation of the game.
One of the first things you're supposed to do is draw an escalation card and resolve it. Did you have either Vault card 1 or 24 as indicated from escalation 0 because I am missing both as well as several other Vault cards.
it looks like the exploration cards have the campaign listed on them under their region icon in the top right shown on page 20, FALADOR - "VS"
