During camp time we all do cabin capers, but perhaps the greatest capers of all come before and after the summer. We turn on the camp water system in May and winterize all the plumbing in October. 77 jugs of antifreeze keeps 24 toilets, 28 sinks, and 12 showers from freezing during the winter. During the spring of 2024 much progress was made on the environmental initiative Forest Meadow. After many years of flooding, large pines in the area drowned and were removed leaving a large expanse of barren debris. In phases, the space is being filled, replanted with grass, fruit trees, and wildflowers. A small pond permits drainage to prevent future flooding. The fountain discourages insect ...
