My name is Martin Thom, and I'm from Toronto Canada and I'm living in Sweden. I've been playing guitar on and off since 1979, and in the last few years I have started getting back into it again. Posting cover-songs is something I do to keep my self practicing as much as possible. There are so many great guitarist on RUclips, but what I try to do is play the whole song standing up, which can be harder than it seems! I hope that you enjoy watching me try to interpret som of my favourite songs on my channel! Cheers!

I would love to build one of their 59lp's once I'm financially able..I think they're an amazing alternative to super high priced reissue guitars, even if you have a luthier build the kit for you it's not going to cost anywhere near $7,000-$50,000 but people care more about a name on a headstock rather than the actual quality of the instrument...
@@Xmeric01 there the top of the line when it comes to bodies and necks. Unfortunately for me Living in Sweden and paying in US dollars plus import duty, it becomes very expensive
@@martythom2618 I live in America, And I've never purchased from them I'm not exactly a well to do man.. But You do have a beautiful guitar that I'm sure can hold it own against high tier instruments.. The finishing supplies would definitely be the breaking point in the situation as well as parts, if you decided to go full vintage it would get expensive fast a set of original paf pickups is going for ridiculous stupid money $5,000-$10,000 and that's just pickups... But one can dream, maybe one day.. I also really appreciate you doing this video and showing what can be achieved with hard work and dedication...

You did a great job on the build, and it turned out beautifully! Really something to be proud of! I have the same kit, and want to do an amber stain on it also, when time permits. Hopefully it turns out half as nice as yours. I agree the layout of the tuners are definitely too far apart, makes the trees a necessity. Other than that, the kit is top notch! Thanks for posting the video and sharing the steps you took on the build & finish!

The way guitar prices are now, you’re better off building your own.what did that run you? About 1700? Not a bad deal at all. You built a Gibson and saved a grand.

What a beauty! I’m glad you put your name on it. I want to build one almost just like it. Making a parts list now. I agree, it could have been a little bit more yellow, but I think the finished product looks just fine, as it is. I’m worried about getting the finish right, myself. In my search, for what I want to build, yours is at the top.

It’s a very tricky process and I can’t guarantee success on your first attempt. This was my 3rd and I am about to start a new project after the summer. Sometimes you can get confused with all the different tutorials on RUclips.
@@martythom2618 That’s awesome! I’m sure I’ll be back to ask. Especially about the finish. I used to mess around and mod guitars, when I was a kid, some 45 years ago. I’d swap out, and sometimes add pickups, change caps, and add resistors. I know the hardware & electronics. I’ve just never used a finish. I always just spray painted them. Lol
