It seems that when we look at a map, we see the latitudes as land valuable to us being from, let's say extremes of lower Hudson Bay to Patagonia. The red ocre people's longitude was the arctic circle that rims the upper world and its lower regions. They indeed shared culture and rites. I'm tired of scholars' discounting just to do so. I function in the academic world and such opinions are more of posturing to gain status than of addressing an examination of possible truths. Who has the bigger academic @%* can enforce an opinion, and those who don't want to lose status or academic positions in the ugly world of academia will often just agree. Seven cave bear skulls in close proximity and seemingly arranged with no other bones around? Nature did that? If they say prove it, then they have to say they have proven else wise.

You are absolutely right about posturing and hegemony in science. This is exactly why we are taking the time to thoroughly review the claims of skeptics like Wunn. To illustrate, the evidence presented by Germonpre (et.al) strongly suggests that Wunn was simply wrong (and quite pompously so) about the "non-existence of Paleolithic cave bear worship." It may be true that extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof; well, some truly extraordinary finds were made only within the past few years. Knowledge is power, and this is a major spoiler alert, but the knowledge must flow - here's a hint of what's to come: www.cambridge.org/core/journals/evolutionary-human-sciences/article/siberian-paleolithic-site-of-malta-a-unique-source-for-the-study-of-childhood-archaeology/F28C70119125FDB885150D66BFC11146 www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/secrets-europes-oldest-known-modern-humans-revealed-genome-sequencing-180977437/ bmcbiol.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12915-018-0622-4#citeas pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24256729/ www.researchgate.net/publication/348348208_The_Origin_of_the_Okunev_Population_Southern_Siberia_The_Evidence_of_Physical_Anthropology_and_Genetics www.archaeology.wiki/blog/2013/08/29/2000-year-old-bear-ring-found-in-siberia-used-in-ancient-bear-cult/

@@ancestralarts2613 Thank you so much. Perhaps "experts" must say at the time of their pronouncements: "From knowledge know to me today, I postulate that...." Then we all can be happy that no mud is on anyone's face.
