What "Zero" is right for you?
In this video, we compare the 25 yd, 50 yd and 100 yd Zero. This is not a "this one is better than that one" video. We briefly discuss each one and show you what they "look" like. In addition we discuss, dot size, optic height and holds so that viewers can decide for themselves which Zero may best suit their needs.

Why choose our Gass Hole for your Criterion CORE Series Barrel?
Просмотров 16 тыс.2 года назад
This is a short video detailing some key features of our .625 Gas Block.
Our preferred barrel, the Criterion CORE Series

In this video, Steve & Mike briefly talk about Ripcord Industries rifles and Criterion CORE Series barrels.
Holy feckin riser 😂
I just rotated my gas block and it went right in lol didn’t notice any higher tolerance then a normal gas block
All zeros are dependent on height over bore. You need to know your height over bore. 3 identical guns with the same ammo will have different zeros based upon what height over bore the sight is at. Not height over rail, but height over bore. Just add 1.2" to your height over rail to getbyour height over bore.
Actually super informative
Late comment but these are never in stock, frustrating
Idk how I never seen this before but Holy cow that rail is amazing!
I'd definitely choose your gas hole over the next dude. Real tight.
10:44 had to stop watching here. This was so disingenuous. No one screws in the front gas block screw before screwing in the rear one. Come on dude.
36 yard zero is a better combat zero
How high is that over bore?
Get these back in stock otherwise I’m going to have to use a Bcm gas block
I’ll take a set of those cards. Do you take Venmo? 😬
I use 50 yard for red dot and 36 yard for LPVO
Zeroing at 50 yards.I have a DDM4V7 16” barrel with AIMPOINT MICRO T2 Red dot.On a Bipod. With 5.56 62 grain green tip rounds.25yards 1” 3 shot group.50 yards 2” 3shot group.100 yard 4” 3 shot group.Aiming dead center. All breast bone shots. That works for me. I just need to practice without the bipod now. And I should be good to go. I don’t need anything more than that. Or I’m gonna be paying some serious criminal consequences. LOL…..
i need prices and inventory on 13.9 uppers nothing is on the site.
I have two zeros and they completely depend on optic choices. For dots and holographic sites I use 36 yards because it is the most narrow spread from zero to 300 yards. For LPVOs or something like an ACOG I use 100 yards because all of my adjustments are vertical. (All of these comments are based on using small frame AR chambered in 5.56)
Just ordered the 13.9” core last night, I will be ordering the .062 fitted Gas block from Ripcord and their BCG. I have a Criterion 14.5” gov that teamed up with ADM and it will not cycle. Thinking under gassed somehow. Need to strip it down and take a look..I always wanted the CORE series anyways so that’s my excuse.
36 hold is a CD rom spread out to 300yds
U got nothing if ur not zeroed to a "Cold Bore."
25 and 300 is same
100 yards cause it’s how I have the most fun at my range 😅
Any plans to make a .750 gass hole?
Are you the guy from T- Rex arms?
The $15 expo arms gasblock is 4140. L0L
Hey. Are u the guy who did a lot with trex guys? Serious question..
Very well done and informative video guys! Kudos to you!
Trying to find the how to series
When your height over bore is measured in feet it’s especially important.
Well Done!! Offering different options but in clear ways that could help more people to understand. and great points.
Where’d y’all get those shirts?
That riser looks absolutely ridiculous
If you want to try the MPBR (maximum point blank range) method, that doesn’t require bullet drop compensation within some limits, here are the steps: 1) Determine the size of the target or the maximum impact zone you deem adequate. 2) Determine the minimum and maximum distance where you want to be able to hit that target without holdover/under. 3) Determine your height over bore with a bore sighter and flashlights (for scopes only) or just a caliper. 4) Determine the bullet velocity for your barrel length and weather conditions. Also find out the BC stated by the manufacturer. 5) Input all the data from itens 3 and 4 in a ballistic calculator and play around with different zeroes and find out which one satisfies itens 1 and 2. Depending on the application, MPBR might not be the best option for you. For instance, if you want to be able to hit 2” targets at any distance up to 100 yards, if you have a close zero (specially with a taller height over bore) you’ll be shooting over your target. MPBR usually works better for hunting and defense/combat. For competition I prefer a zero at the distance I’ll that most of shots and use the BDC on the reticle after that.
This video with deltathirtyfour’s video on how to zero should be your top two. If you are a team sergeant, squad leader or team leader, both of these videos should be a weekend homework assignment. Very good information. This kind of information seemed like rocket science when I was a shaved head 30th AG goon. We didn’t have access to these kinds of tutorials in the late 90’s when I came in. This information allows for those in the service, or not, a HUGE advantage. Good shiit dudes. God bless.
25/300 Zero makes perfect sense for iron sights. Because at no time will you ever cover the man-sized target’s center of mass with your front sight post. You’re always holding your aim at the target’s belt line and hit him approximately anywhere in the chest. For anything closer than 25m, you just look up a tiny bit above the peep ring and just use the front sight. Anything further than 300m, that is what the adjustable elevation drum is in the A2 rear sight. I believe back up irons, if you run them, should be zeroed at 25/300. But yes, for glassed optics, 25/300 is very poor.
Holy height over bore 😳
Thanks guys, you helped this old dog learn some new tricks.
How about a 36 yd zero; is that a good zero
Better get a good trigger or all this means nothing 😂😂😂 found out the hard way just keep wasting ammo
25 yard zero - 7:34 50 yard zero - 13:25 100 yard zero- 16:25 Personal opinion 36 yard zero is the best after trial and error.
Thank you guys. Really appreciate your time to give us a good solid presentation. Good job!

50 yards seems like best happy medium for all...considering a 12.5~16" lengths are the most user friendly and if you're unfortunate enough to live behind CA lines still makes the best sense to zero. face it even a 77grn pill out to 300~ and beyond isn't as useful as some think it may be. b4 yall go full keybaord warrior on me this is just from my experience and choice of tooling. cheers
Now I need to recheck my self-confidence 😅 I think my zeros are good...& Dots one moa co-witness with iron 200yd on small aperture
What the hell happened…drop a video or two
10 weeks for this thing?
M4 is set at 36 yard zero with Aimpoint PRO and 3X magnifier, iron sights are absolute co witnesse. This has worked the best for me.
Awesome. What best for home defense with holosun red dot and holosun 3x magnifier on Springfield Saint Victor 9mm Carbine 16in barrel.
Now find one in stock lol. Could get a form 4 passed before I get a core 😂.
I waited 4 months for mine lol
@@chanoleyva8584 yeah I ended up finding a hybrid in stock and just got back from the range. I like it.
@@Birdsaregovspys6969 how'd it shoot?
@@chanoleyva8584shot well. Little Harsher then the 18” rifle barrel it replaced but I wanted to shorten it up a little and get the chrome lining. I do not regret.
rooftop defense has some in stock right now.
Unity mounts are ghey
Come from a large military family. I was a machinist for 15+yrs, shooting & hand loading for longer. Learning how all the components work together in unison & training is important to operate the firearm efficiently. Great explanation of mount, optic & operator capability when zeroing. I like using ACSS reticle since it’s permanently etched & using a ^ chevron. The detailed explanation is awesome, definitely subscribing.👍
