What keeps the lip extended when the leveler is lowering? I know there is a spring internal to the lip cylinder wanting to retract the lip cylinder, but I assume that as the leveler is lowering, and the oil is being forced through an orifice to control down speed, that the pressure in the system as it is lowering is high enough to overcome the spring and prevent retraction until the lip rests on the bed. Then, pressure in the system goes to zero and the lip cylinder spring retracts the cylinder. The lip valve spool must be moving freely, because if it is stuck down, then the valve cannot shift and allow the lip cylinder hydraulic oil to leave the cylinder and return to tank. Please advise if this assumption is correct.
Tried this and the hoist cylinder doesn’t move up or down…
OSHA does not regulate Chocks on CMVs.

I see that none of your videos on the VH series show the dock lip dropping to the home position. Mine slams down with 0 resistance. Is this correct? Is it good for the longevity of the hinge?
