Got it 8 days ago already 150 hours in and at the ending, first souls game ever for me took me some time maybe 10 hours to learn the mechanics but it’s smooth from there just keep going man. Best game i’ve ever played

Its completely normal that you struggled as much on this enemy, the game is an open world, and the tree sentinel is comparable to the guardians in zelda breath of the wild, where you would avoid them instead of fighting them. Nevertheless congrats on beating him, espescially with the worst starting class! Also notice how there's an x next to the halberd? It is because you do not have the stats requirement to weild it, for now you'd be better off with the wooden club.
