One of my favorite ZBB songs is Dress Blues but it is a heavy one
Love "Top Of The World". Was the #1 song in America on Nov. 20, 1973. The Carpenters did a song in 1976 called "You". Check it out.
Enjoyed hearing this again. The Carpenters did a song in 1977 called "Two Sides". Check it out. Just subscribed!
1973 ❤
Love this track so much! David has an amazing ability to create songs that create the feeling of an entire field of sound . A soundscape panorama

Watch the Karen Carpenter drum solo videos on RUclips if you really want to be wowed by her drumming. Playboy Magazine voted her the best drummer in the world in 1975, as I recall. When they performed "Dancing in the Streets" live on "Your All American College Show," she played and sang, although her singing voice hadn't fully dev. 10:42 eloped in her teen years, so she hit a couple of flat notes at the beginning. This is the ONLY time I ever heard her go slightly off pitch, but she warmed up as the song went on. Could have been a case of the nerves, too. There are plenty of videos online of her singing and playing. She loved drumming more than singing!
I believe another drummer did the studio version you heard, but Karen was fully capable as an award-winning jazz drummer to play that song AND sing it live. If you listen to their first album ("Ticket to Ride"), you'll hear some fabulous drumming and singing. She was amazingly talented, as was her brother.
You are following the correct zz top path.
I know I’m late to this reaction but I grew up listening to Neil Diamond on 8-track & vinyl (I’m 53) this song Holly Holy is a stream of consciousness song as Mr. Diamond describes, you’re not to listen to the lyrics, you’re to feel the emotion of the music. Unfortunately this video cut that part off, he says that right before he plays the song.
Tighten the hinge where it mounts to the pillar
Elton John said that Neil Sedaka was an inspiration for him. If you're into feeling some kinda way, try his tracks "The Other Side of Me", and "Solitaire". He wrote a lot of upbeat "pop" stuff, then he wrote songs like those that really say something.
There is 17 difference parts of versus in the song. Most are out of Revelations but not all.
Layers upon layers is in the mix. 💖 Consider giving "Don't Take Me Alive" a spin.

Just love, love this song! Thank you for reacting to this song. I saw them at Bogart's in Cincinnati late into their 1991, maybe 92, tour. Its a little hazy now. Corey Glover was spot on: timing, on key, energetic stage presence. Vernon, Will & Doug were locked in. From time to time they'd go off on an open jazz fusion improve. It was funny to watch the crowd try to dance to their free-form improve jazz. Then the band would recognize they lost the audience and they'd back to a funk groove. Like "Elvis Is Dead." And oh yea, Smashing Pumpkins was the 2nd act and Screaming Trees was the opener.
The first "power ballad." Guitar solo by the late great Tony Peluso.
One of my favorite Hardy songs….
The Intro of The Werewolf series
Gavin "f'ing" Harrison is exactly f'ing right!! At his best!!
Beautiful song and such a cool concept!
This is by far my favorite song of HARDY! Thanks for reacting.
so heavy..
Try cocaine blues live at folsom prison
There not realy hip there just talented and her voice is one in a million
Wonderful singing voice and they layered it in the studio
She's a good storyteller with the right emotions at the right time
She carried it low and loud a couple times in chorus
She went really low on this one
She had some long verses without an air break
So how to fix? Will WD-40/ lube help?
thank you for being a cool at the last song and silent to listen at this amazing song And dirge 🤘
She had been in that court room in the past, the Judge was looking at her until she said, "I never knew my day of justice would come from a Judge under a seat." the Judge in the court room looked away. I worked the streets as a LEO a few years and did many years with DOC (retiring 8yrs ago) now that I am not confined & restrained by a badge I can choose to see things a tad differently than the rule of law and the system dictate. When the system, when society fails to protect those weakest among us it is left to rough men standing outside the rule of law to do what is necessary to preserve the peace, protect the innocent, and return civility. Some times otherwise peaceful men must choose to be meaner than evil, they must do things that will haunt their dreams for the rest of their lives. Some call this "vigilante justice" but for some the vigilante is the only hope to obtain justice.
6:50 - 7:37, into that killer transition that goes on until it fades till the end is just 3+ minutes of pure bliss.
The very first power ballad !!! My favorite by the Carpenters !!!!
Papi Dave Lombardo on drums ladys and other people
Hey Drummond - loved the reaction as always. If you havent done it already, check out Harridan from their brand new LIVE DVD = Closure/Continuation LIVE. Awesome! From their 2022 album. New bass player and 2nd guitar/harmony - but same drummer and keyboard and just as awesome as ever.
Hey Drummond. Im in my 60s and remember Carpenters well. Herb Alpert heard Karen's voice on a demo in 1969 and signed her brother, Richard, and her to A&M records. Karen received 3 or 4 Grammys in the 70s and sold over 80 million records by 1982. She was 1975 rock drummer of the year according to Playboy. KC had the most beautiful voice-ever, and perhaps THE best female vocalist-ever, because she compels you to listen as she sings in perfect pitch to you, not at you, with emotion and enunciation. No auto-tune or gimmicks. No professional voice or drum instruction. She was known by the studios as 'one take'. She rarely, if ever, did more than one take of any song. She was also the ONLY female harmony/background voice in all her songs. She was truly born with an incredible singing talent. Documentaries point out the accolades to her voice, such as, Paul McCartney said she had the most angelic voice after hearing her sing 'Ticket To Ride'. John Lennon ran into her at an LA restaurant and told her "you have a fabulous voice, luv". Supposedly Frank Sinatra stated that Karen was the only singer he'd pay to hear. I recommend songs such as, Yesterday Once More, Solitaire, This Masquerade, Need To Be In Love, Hurting Each Other, Rainy Days and Mondays, I Can Dream Cant I, Crescent Noon, Ordinary Fool, Superstar, Close To You, We've Only Just Begun, A Place To Hideaway, and A Song For You. KC never knew true love. One of her few friends included Dionne Warwick. 5'3" KC really lost weight, due to anorexia, in earnest beginning in 1975. She died in Feb 1983 at age 32 due to heart complications from anorexia
seen him in concert love neil diamond
You should try not talking over it.
That is how you stop abuse
This was written for and about John Lennon’s legal battle with the Nixon administration and the FBI and Immigration Department. He eventually won the right to be here but by that time there was a different President thankfully.
Cool. Sail on and rock on.
I discovered from another reactor that Lola Montez was a real dancer and courtesan (1821 - 1861) who enticed the King of Bavaria and took a whip to a critic in Australia. Dying ultimately of syphilis before she was forty.
'Gavin fuckin' Harrison'!!! 😂
This song was released 3 months before he passed away. Perfect way to go out.
The 4 Horseman of the Apocalypse.
