Founded with a vision for the 21st Century and beyond, Krea University has been instituted by a stellar team of academicians, industrialists and intellectuals. We awarded Elinor Olstrom the Nobel in 2009 and then promptly relegated all of her ideas to the background. Getting local communities to play a much more hands-on role in the regulation of resources like forests is no longer a novel idea, it is a bare minimum that we need to be doing. We can’t keep kicking the can down the road because it is politically ‘difficult’-if not for the Soligas’ livelihoods, then at least for the sake of the planet we share with them.
