The vent ports don’t have mesh on them so I’m guessing you have to sacrifice bugs and mosquitoes for breathability?
Nice setup in the wind. Are you planning any hikes early next year? I have the xmid 2p solid and really like the extra room, but the foot print is big.

Nice! Moving from my Altaplex to the DupleXL for more space. That is not snow but freezing rain. About the worst possible weather condition possible. Looks like it held up great though! Good stuff, thanks!

I’ve often wondered if ice/snow like that affects the dyneema material over time.
Not sure here either. Might be a good question for Zpacks
It would be far less affected that nylon or polyester due to its incredible tensile strength, and minimal stretch. I know its much thinner, but its the same stuff that most 4x4 winches run now, and is used as hign strength low diameter fishing line. The fibres are far stronger than the same diameter steel.

Most trail meals are carb based, pasta, rice, or potatoes. I have to quit carbs due to diabetes and resupply is going to be hard. Mostly, I am limited to beef, pork, bird, & nuts. My new main staples are pecans & walnuts since they are calorie dense and mostly fat & protein. I plan on a steak or sausage cooked over a fire on first day out of towns. Beef sticks, jerky, spam, tuna packets, nuts, peanut butter, cheese, hot dogs, salami, pepperoni, and pork rinds are usually available. Maybe a rotisserie chicken and some boiled eggs if there is a full grocery store.
