It is important that it would hire Deaf person with strong leader, strong advoacay and strong outspoken across Canada. It is 2022. Deaf communiy need to see new changes for CAD with new Deaf ex director. Who were involved the job interview? Are the Deaf community or board members involved for processing the interview?

Dear OAD, Without bias, I strongly support Mr. Richard Belzile to become CAD's new executive director. I know him for many years. He is a cool guy and my friend but he is a valuable person for Deaf community. I have known that Belzile helped advocating several Deaf people in Toronto. He voluntarily interpreted for them. He also helped advising Deaf people how to file a complaint with Ontario Human Rights. Belzile has very good ties to many different communities with cultural backgrounds because He is French Canadian, member of LGBTQ community and member of Deaf community. Belzile helped Deaf LGBTQ people establishing the Deaf LGBTQ organization called Ontario Rainbow Association of the Deaf (ORAD). Belzile actively supported Deaf Outreach Program (DOP) for the Deaf people living with HIV positive. Belzile fought to include French Language in Toronto. Also Belzile interpreted for Deaf people at Metropolitan Community Church (MCC). Belzile is socializing with Deaf people for a long time. I remember that Belzile worked for Government of Ontario especially a legal department. He has a good network with many important people in Ontario Government. With his strong ties to different cultural backgrounds, his government career and his legal experience, I think Belzile is the excellent person for becoming CAD's executive director because we will not find anyone like him. Although Belzile is a hearing person, please give him a chance to try helping Deaf Canadian people to live better. Thank you! Captain Troy J Stilwell Canada Deaf Sailing

Thankfully for OAD I notice BC, ALBERTA and OTTAWA already provided the interpreter service so I need ONTARIO interpreter service.

Wish the OAD could get more fundings from the government to provide services to deaf community. As I promised, if I ever won big money from Lottery, I definitely would support the OAD to set up new big office along with new condos so they can earn money from condo, other businesses to keep the OAD strong!
