Anora (2024)
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Anora, a masterpiece and my favorite film of 2024. It's raw, real, and beautifully shot. The story follows a s*x worker who has a fling with the son of a Russian oligarch, leading to a whirlwind romance and unexpected consequences. The film doesn't shy away from difficult topics and delivers a powerful punch to the gut. The ending is especially impactful, particularly for women. This film deserves all the awards and hype. Go see it now!

Heretic Movie Review

"Heretic" is a thrilling, diabolical film starring Hugh Grant that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Grant delivers a captivating performance as Mr. Reed, a man who challenges the faith of two young Mormon missionaries. The film boasts strong performances from Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East, and the cinematography is stunning, with moments of sheer brilliance. While the storyline occasion...

Here Movie Review

‘Here’: interesting, but story-scattered, trip through the ages ★★★☆☆. The cinematic adaptation of Richard McGuire’s graphic novel "Here" by Robert Zemeckis is as daring as it is bewildering. The concept: a single, unbroken shot through the history of a house and the family that inhabits over time that never really pulls you in. Here falls down on its storytelling. What looks like a family dram...

Rumours Movie Review
Просмотров 2421 день назад
A Cinematic Acid Trip Gone Wrong (Zero Stars) "Rumours" promised a darkly comedic feast with a side of British wit, but instead served up a cinematic dumpster fire. From the misleading trailer to the bafflingly nonsensical plot, this film left me feeling like I'd accidentally wandered into a fever dream. Let's start with the story, or lack thereof. It's as if someone scribbled random scenes on ...

Woman of the Hour Netflix Rating: 3 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Anna Kendrick steps behind the camera for her directorial debut in "Woman of the Hour," a film that's as chilling as it is captivating. Saturday Night 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Jason Reitman's "Saturday Night" takes us behind the scenes of the chaotic first SNL episode in 1975. Joker: Folie à Deux - Movie Review
Просмотров 71Месяц назад
Joker: Folie à Deux - A Disappointing Encore ⭐⭐ If you haven't seen the first "Joker," steer clear of this sequel. "Folie à Deux" heavily relies on the original film's storyline, making it difficult to follow for newcomers. While some sequels can stand alone, this isn't one of them. Clocking in at a lengthy 2 hours and 19 minutes, this film felt like a chaotic mess. The plot was weak, and the d...

I had to fight to stay awake. then the ending? how hollywood....
It didn't happen to me during this documentary but it has with other ones. I didn't mind this one. I didn't feel sorry for her at all and I feel like she should be in prison forever. But yeah I was also doing needlepoint while watching it so I was kind of in and out
Thank you for the review. This movie was garbage. Depressing and meaningless. I want my two hour back.
You're not alone there. I hear a lot of people with the same opinion.
@@KatesMovieReviews I know its not fun reviewing a less than stellar movie. Thanks again for your work here.
@@JScottGaribay Awe, thank you so very much.
It’s a blasphemous film.

@@rthonlimbu8134I loved it that’s my review
I started watching it because I love the concept of showing the ''villains'' side of the story and how they operate from the inside. We get to see the manipulation techniques and we also get the entertainment value from people like Tiffany. She is awesome! I love the interactions she has with the other women.
She's the GOAT of reality tv!
Hi, Kate! I'm a new subscriber! You're doing an amazing job! I was wondering if you'd be interested in being interviewed for one of the lectures I have here in Norway. We teach English as a Foreign Language here, and in addition to that, students in the 13th year of High School (which is the equivalent to the first year of University in the USA), they learn about how the USA is a hegemonic power in the world. I use movies, TV shows, pop culture in general, and all aspects of American culture to make my point come accross to my students. I have a project called INTERVIEWS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES, which is on a playlist on my channel, if you're interested. You would be a perfect person to be interviewed. I would like to ask you about your thoughts on The American Dream and the political landscape in the USA right now. Insights from a real person are always better than the artificial conversations they listen to from their textbook audio files. They are sometimes native speakers of English, but other times they are Norwegians putting on a British or American accent. There are no right or wrong answers to the questions I ask in these interviews, I am merely trying to show them a broader perspective of the world. ruclips.net/video/XGKKttEo2iE/видео.html Check this out when you have the chance. I love your videos and I will be waiting for your reviews now religiously :)
Also, I agree that the cousin is deranged. It's absolute insanity what she did. They did attempt to interview her but she declined.
Actually she never "met" him. She saw him in a club called his name, he responded "Yes." She said, "It's Kirat. We've been talking on Facebook." Bobby responds, "Who?" when she keeps saying who she is. He keeps responding, "who?" and looks confused so she walked away and assumed the music was too loud and said she didn't want to embarrass him. But he never acknowledged that he knew her, quite the contrary. That's was the 1st huge red flag. Secondly, I blame patriarchy. I hate that a woman's worth is so heavily defined by being a wife and mother. I've seen so many brilliant and intuitive women abandon their instincts because we are not taught to trust ourselves. We taught to trust conventions, systems, but never our gut. I feel bad that she appears to be brought up in a culture that leans heavy on these principles, a little more than some cultures do. Now, a slightly harsher opinion. As much as I'm usually sympathetic, she made a lot of misteps and seems to live more in fairy tale than reality. She romanticized relationships beyond seeing reality. We see this with her dating a man for 18 years thinking that he would marry her. She then gets engaged to a man that she had an online relationship with, never with a video call where they can see each others' faces, never actually "meeting" in person. Even her describing them as "meeting" is super delutional. No girl, he never acknowledged that he knew you. You saw Bobby, he confirmed it was his name, but he never said, "Oh Kirat, it's you, from our chats on facebook." I mean it does'y have to be verbatim but that never happen. Years without seeing a man in-person is wild. I don't care who knows him, and the emphasis is on "years." I could understand her going with her cousin knowing him, but after a few months to a year that would die out. She couldn't even see his face. That's insane.
Well I guess my use of "met" was a bit too general. I get it, but I think that's what sets the story a little apart from others, they are being duped by people in another country or something and normally for financial gain.
The only reason I powered through is because I grew up a few miles from Blooming Prairie.
Oh wow, so it was all over the news for you.
Im sad because the film I was disappointed
Yeah super bummed too. It really shouldn't have been made at all.
I think the biggest evidence that she did it is the fact that she is the one who wrote the letter telling the police where to find the drug. The father and aunt are crazy in fact there are a lot of flawed people throughout but that girl tops them all.
Yes, the proof is there of her guilt. Her behavior with the proof is a sealed deal for me.
Conkling was so shady and tried to blame Mexican cartels then switched to yeah, Klunder did it. Denies the call with Ricketts. Said he was contagious. Conkling also is an offender. I think they both took the girls. Sketchy!
Oooh really good insight.
I watched this today i agree with everything you said about this documentary

My favourite animated Disney films -- "Pinocchio," Fantasia" and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (narrated by Bing Crosby). Thanks for sharing, Kate. All the best to your family. With care -- W
good choices
@@KatesMovieReviews Many thanks! I've always enjoyed some of Disney's non-animated works, such as "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," "The Swiss Family Robinson" and "In Search of the Castaways." Take care. Stay safe - you and your loved ones. 😺👍🙏🎥🎬🎸
If her biopic isn't in theaters, maybe lifetime should do her biopic cuz nobody ever talks about how vanity did lifetimes first movie called "memories of murder". And she did a movie with John stamos and he mentioned her in his book.
Yes I remember her and John were an item too during that time. She was dating him.
Hi Kate. I've heard a lot about this film. I used to live in NYC. I met briefly with Sigourney Weaver and Lance Henrikson. Both actors were very approachable and good-hearted all around. I also expressed my sorrow over the loss of their "Aliens" co-star, Bill Paxton (RIP). I told them I'm a Sci-Fi fan of the "old guard." Yes, the "Alien" franchise incorporates elements of Horror and Sci-Fi better than any other film out there. I also told Sigourney Weaver that she reminded me of a frontier woman - a gal with grit and determination. She just laughed warmly and said, "Thank you." Moreover, I commented that she, Lance Henrikson, and the rest of her fellow cast members from "Aliens" would be perfect for a well-made "western." I loved "Tombstone." Kate, your review has me interested in viewing "Alien Romulus." You didn't give anything "away" in this review. Well done! Stay safe. Cheers! -- W

Hi Kate Elfatah. I just listened/viewed this review of what I would take to be a great amalgam of Horror/Mystery with a tincture of Science Fiction. I've heard of this film, but I've never viewed it. Your video has piqued my interest. I really appreciated those film jacket covers on the wall behind you. All four of those films are favourites of mine! For another matter, have you ever reviewed Nicholas Myer's, "Time After Time?" Mary Steenburgen, Malcolm McDowell and David Warner rendered great performances in that film. I love films about Time travel. "The Time Machine" (1960) and "Somewhere in Time" are also favourites of mine. Many thanks. With care. Cheers. -- W -- PS: Oh yeah, your hair is gorgeous!
Thank you Walter!!!!
@@KatesMovieReviews 😺👍
Growing up in England in the early 1960s, there was a LOT of anti-nuclear sentiment. I definitely caught that anti-nuclear think ology as I viewed this film and the original Godzilla ("Gojira") from 1954. I remember watching the original "Gojira" when I was a kid. That film and "The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms" along with "Gojira," which generated my interest in dinosaurs. "Godzilla Minus One" is a milestone in foreign language films! I put it right up there with Kurasawa's "The Seventh Samurai." It's just THAT good! The character development in "Minus One" is stellar, as is the performances. More than once during the presentation, I got a bit "misty." I felt terrible for that little child. There was also a strong sense of national identity and hope, which following WWII, Japan sorely needed. Many thanks, Kate Elfatah! Cheers! -- W
Listen, if it's the cartels I'm not interested. I'm only here for a twist in the story I don't want to spend all my time I want to find out that a bunch of naive unassuming white people with enough money to set up shop in a foreign country got killed by cartels trying to take a shortcut in Cartel City like they own the place...
Good point! Not arguing that.
I have a crush on you 😊
Stand in line! LOL
I thought Maika Monroe was great and Nicholas Cage was unsettling and unhinged. I also didn't understand some parts. I am still thinking about this movie. I agree it's a thriller.
It takes you a bit to unpack the whole movie. I'm still unpacking 10 days later.
Unconditional LOVE 💗 for an addicted family member should “NEVER BE AIRED OUT PUBLICALLY” on social media. I’m talking to Nick Carter, Angel Carter Conrad and Lauren Kitt Carter. The addict and mentally ill family member doesn’t have the physical, mental, emotional capacity to seek HELP if their own family members are “bashing them constantly on social media” platforms! You’re actually driving them into a deeper black hole 🕳️ from which they cannot escape! Shame on you LAUREN KITT CARTER, DICK NICK CARTER and ANGEL CARTER CONRAD.
Yes the family seems to just not have any boundaries or common sense.

I believe that Melissa and Shannon stories about being SA. Ashley, however, is definitely lying through her teeth. As Aaron, he was definitely exploited at a young age. Plus, I am upset that the documentary didn't even mention Aaron's interview on the Boy Band Con documentary. Or how Aaron said his mother tried to use him for clout against Michael Jackson. The documentary left out so many key points leading up to Aaron's downfall
Really great points about this. I think they were purely focused on these women and the accusations. Even though they made it seem like Aaron was a part of this doc, he had a little role in this doc about his story.
*Sorry I was speaking to text and the grammar was atrocious. Let me try again.* : I’m personally shocked that people believe Melissa Schuman. Even in her interview for this docu-series, there are several inconsistencies. If she was brought into the bathroom against her will, why would she not use her friend knocking as an out? Why would she then go into another bathroom with him? And then to a bedroom? and then stay the night? Why also would he stop when he asked her if she was enjoying it? None of it makes sense. She also then went on to sign with a label that he was closely affiliated with and agreed to do a duet with him. It just isn't adding up from this account alone, completely ignoring that her story changes with every interview she does.
@@IndiratempestST I do agree. I think there just seems like there is a piece missing.
