I am an electronics repair hobbyist. This channel will just be me learning how to diagnose and repair problems on variety of different electronics that come across my desk. I am by no means a expert but wanting to further my knowledge and understanding of electronics repair. So lets see what we can learn and see if we can keep some electronics going instead of just ending up in the e waste bin. This is gonna be fun.
Broken Ebay RX570 8GB Intro
Just a quick intro to what i will be trying to repair. Bought 3 Msi RX570 8GB off ebay. So lets see whats gonna happen if I can repair them or will they be parts.

Bought this RX580 on ebay for parts or repair. Lets have a look to see whats wrong and if it can be fixed

I have been wondering how it operates on 12 volts or 18 volts, less power on 12?

Please HELP, I have an XFX RX 480 8GB and APW8713 on Display Rail is not generating POK so there is not EN on the PWM (NCP81022) so no Vcore. I measured resistance and everything seems to be OK, also All voltages are good but Vcore is not present. what can I do? all voltages on APW8713 (EN, VIN, VCC) are also present but still no POK, chip is not overheating. Should I just replace APW8713? or is something else I could try?? I dont have replacement
do you have power at the output / lx pins? if no output replace apw8713
Yes the audio is pretty quiet also you soldered the wires to the last motor you connected the wrong way round, if you look at the beginning of the video the red was closest to the camera but you soldered the black there. I think it only makes the blower suck and vice versa so just have to connect the big hose to the other outlet.
mine blew that large transistor you show on the back of the board, do you have a good picture of it to identify and replace. mine fell apart in three pieces when I removed it.

hello i have rx580 8gb i accidently tried to update the bios ... i slushed the chipset chip by mistake any way to repair?

@@level8473 i mean flushed the wrong 8 pin chip Instead of bios i flushed probably the chipset Power regulator chip

hey i got a question i got a pretty important speaker the same model but my aux cord needs to be fixed is that possible ?
Does this compressor have a plastic or metal piston? Curious about the mechanical strength of its internals Thanks
Sorry to say i dont remember. I wanna say metal piston. It seemed to be well built but i have not opened or looked at any other brands tho.
Good video with a look at the inside. My problem is it works fine with the 12v plug and the panel lights up and functions with battery but the compressor/blower wont activate on battery. Gives a Er5 code then shuts off after a bit. Can you tell me what relays it has in there if you have it on video? I want to buy one but I guess I could always switch them like in the car and see if it works before buying one. Any help/info would be great bro. Great video!
I have exactly the same issue.. i think it’s very common issue! Did you manage to find the fix for that issue?
@@webpro607 no fix at all. I put it in wife’s car and bought a used one for 60.00 that works perfect. A shame there is no known fix for it though.
@@stinerart1 it must be a small fix.. probably a damaged Capacitor or Resistor! it's really a shame still no fix for this common issue
I have the same issue with mine. ER 5!!! it would be nice if we could come up with a fix. I’m going to tear into mine and see what I can find out.
My inflator was in the bed of my truck. When I got to it, the glass had moisture on inside. It will not turn on at all. I did manage to get a ER5 code for just a second. Any idea how to fix this, I watched the video, I do not have these tools. Is it even fixable. Definitely a tool I need for my air bags in truck I use for camping.

card not worth fixing.... old and slow. Guess MSI doesn't think memory is worth cooling. so lame
ye but at this price its soo good and so worth it well if someone only have a 100$ and want to play aaa games in med or high this card well be soo good and alot other cards price is 100$ and above and it in fps rx 580 better like 1050 ti ig
not everyone cares at all about playing at 80 fps or 2k

I buy and sell Graphics cards but honestly I tend to avoid RX 480/570/580 8GB because at this point its very likely they have been through 2 x Crypto mining boom and busts , looking forward to seeing your progress with them , Best of Luck with your channel , Subbed.
