I recently had to react to somebody that I used to be very close with telling me they were pregnant. It was really difficult cause I really didn't want to congratulate them on something I find morally wrong. I said something along the lines of 'oh, hope everything goes well'. Don't know if that made sense. They did know my views on the topic at least, so it wasn't as awkward as it could have been.

Thank you for this great conversation and for talking topics/questions which are very relevant for ANs! I have also thought about these topics more often, when it comes to relationships with other people I definitely prefer meeting childfree people (like my siblings) and people who can understand at least parts of my AN-views, like my father, who is quite open towards discussions about AN-topics. Fortunately I have never had the situation where someone told me that they were going to have a child . If I ever found myself in this situation, which is very unlikely, I would probably remain very reserved depending on how close the relationship is. I do have a good relationship with my mother, although she disagrees more with my views. When it comes to dating i totally agree with you, that its really good, to talk about views about having kids in the first encounters.

I wanted to comment about the birth regret that I have, because I do wish I had never been born and I want to check out, but I can't. My family would never understand and would be destroyed if I check out. Never being born in the first place would've prevented me from being in this situation to begin with.

John, if you weren't born, then some other life would have done the Imposition in the same way your lack of existing wasn't able to stop a life from doing an imposition. You have to see yourself as just a life in a generic sense. Non-existence -> a life is born -> life imposed.

Telling a pregant person "I am happy for you" or "congrations!" gives the death-creator the Wrong Message. That encourages them to plan to get preganant again soon after the baby is born so they can keep getting more applauses and happy messages in the future. STOP feeding the death-creators.

It's hypocritical to state that Antinatalists should be vegan but not demand that your biological family becomes vegans. It's hypcritical to state it is morally wrong to create children but not demand your biological parents give you an appology for pucking you into a deterioration trap and death trap. Not holding biological parents accountable for their childrens future death is the reason why most relative and friends of antinatalists will continue to create their offsprings deaths.. because they know they will Not be held accountable by their biological offspring. How arrogant of you to think after millennia of human existence that this generation should now be the ones to decide to end it all? Life is beautiful. There is an inherent joy to it. And for all we know the only place it exists in the entire universe is planet earth. Belief in this notion that having children is wrong because children don’t get to choose to be born and the possibility they might suffer at some point is certifiably insane. I would bet every cent I own that if you were to poll every human on this planet the majority would be happy they were born. The fact this choice was made for them is the law of nature. It’s impossible to choose to be born. And bringing a life into this world and doing your best to ensure they’re deeply loved and cared for is a SELFLESS act. The fact it brings you joy as well only means that you’re a well adjust human who has their priorities straight. Raising good people to improve this world is virtuous and good. Living only for yourself and the present is the very definition of selfish. I’m not saying you have to have kids to be a good person. I just saw The Lobster, the movie mentioned by Luka. However, it's not about forcing people to have children (so it's not a dystopian pronatalist movie) but about forcing people not to be single. Acharya Prashant is really saying that the act of giving birth is violent because it causes more consumption of the limited resources of this planet which is already suffering from over population. He says the earth weeps with every human birth. He is less concerned about the suffering of the new born child than the suffering of the planet and the millions of non human species already existing in it.
