My grandfather was a private pilot instructor for close to 40yrs and thus I heard a lot of various tips on the importance of aircraft maintenance, spacial awareness and most importantly SAFETY. That said this has to be one of the most moronic stunts I've seen considering something as simple as a bird strike in the right/wrong place could bring down even the largest aircraft. The dumb f...er wasn't even smart enough to wear a parachute.

I have MS and am unable to fly due to turbulence, but do love being that high in light aircraft. I see this and think about how flight started and this was one of the big goals by the end of WWI, now we have gone past the Moon, Mars and with satellites past the edge of the Solar System as I type this. Keep flying brother it is one of the true freedoms we have today.

Never mind how scary it is to fly the ultra light. It’s scary to fly a jet and knowing this could hit your windshield.

That is really dangerous to fly an ultralight in broken layer of clouds. The ATC can not see you ultralight on radar and the regular airplanes and jets on IRF plans might not be able to maneuver the plane from colliding with you. Please don't flying in broken layers of cloud formations. Consider yourself very Luckly that day.

Would have loved to try this when I was younger and more physically fit then today. A good family member had two ultralights and now hear that he has a small copter and 6 years older then myself. Always wanted to fly at a very young age. Maybe next lifetime.

It doesn't have enough power. His rate of climb wasn't crazy, he was almost level when you were telling him to push forward. It just doesn't have enough power. Also he's 30 ft off the ground and you're telling him to push forward lol

Couple of questions. Do you have a parachute recovery system on that rig? If not, do you think it would be a good idea to wear one yourself? Is your rig made of titanium or just aviation grade aluminum? I'm old and my days of taking big risks are over, but as an aviator with close to 25,000 hours of flying time, I applaud your ability to get that thing up to 10,000 feet and fly around without a radio or a parachute.
