Saw them live a few months ago along with Yarostan and it was sick! I didn't know them at all before checking their album, but as soon as I heard this opening song, I was immediately hooked. So I had to cover it - and it wasn't easy at all!

Would I 100% need all those cymbals to actually cover this? If so what are they called lol?
Well, there's nothing very special about it, it's a very classic configuration with a hihat, a left crash, a ride and a right crash. For this very cheap drum kit, I had to buy an extra cymbal to get this configuration. I prefer to have two crashes so that I can vary the sounds a bit and also find my way around the measures better, but you can absolutely get away with just one crash - the other two symbals are pretty much indispensable anyway.
Wait a minute! I never thought I would ever hear a drum cover of this song or even a Big Boys song at all! I used to listen to this Texas punk/funk band a lot back in the day! Very cool cover!
Cool thanks! I didn't know them until recently, when I heard a cover of this song by the band 12XU. I listened to the original and really liked the lyrics and the tones. As I've been wanting to cover some older songs, I added it to my list - and here it is!

You have so many awesome covers, what drum set do you use?
Thanks a lot! Well, in my "old" covers (before September 2023), I used the body of an MPS-150X slightly modified with the module of an MPS-850. The cymbals weren't very responsive and everything was very cramped... It was a nice way to start I guess, but I quickly got the urge to use something else. It took a little while, but I've since switched to a proper MPS-850 and it's made quite a difference, especially with the hi-hat and the ride. So, on this cover, I only had this kit for a couple of weeks. As for sounds, I've been using the free VST plugin Steven Slate Drums 5.5 since the beginning - which is just right for me.
