It seems where just calling elliptical curves phase diagrams to elliptical functions so the next generalization would be phase diagrams for a DE of the form y^2 = f(x) where f(x) is a higher order polynomial and see if we have any nice arithmetic on them which i doubt so nice. based on we don't have a nice simple cubic case and it gets much worse with Galois deg > 5 (at least for visual formulas) ...hummm still not sure because the general elliptical curve can be reduced to a form of y^2 =f(x) but for higher dimensions you may not beable to reduce even to a nice form y^2 = f(x) so the phase diagrams of the DE your using may not tell the whole story to how to proceed in defining higher algebraic curves connections with differential equations. Like the elliptical functions are with the phase diagram. hummmm maybe its better at looking at it as an algebraic geometry equation and just noting it reduces nicely to give a connection to elliptical functions phase diagrams and elliptical curves in the case where dealing with low order deg 3 polynomials.

It maybe just as simple as the last statement that where doing arithmetic of phase diagrams of elliptical functions and call it arithmetic on elliptic curves. But this gets me think on what other differential equations phase diagrams can a group of rational points or integers of some number field be defined on. So far elliptical curves are the major one. But are there other higher degree polynomials or algebraic geometry (possible not even algebraic geometry based varieties aka transcendental functions varieties ) that have elliptical curve arithmetic as a special case of a more general theory of rational points on algebraic curve arithmetic / rational points on transcendental curve arithmetic...such a cool subject its link with so many cool subjects and properties. If you had expanded the differential equations in series form you see the elliptical functions satisfy a double periodical function which you can also link to arithmetic of a torus . Anyway i am getting off the point. Point being i like to see the connection of elliptical functions being modular/ modularity properties as well as the connection of elliptical curves VS what your doing with (elliptical functions/integrals in solving the differential equations)

Also i am a bit curious about the connection between (elliptical functions / elliptical integrals) VS the "elliptical curve". It seems elliptical curves by your lecture are just the phase diagrams of the elliptical differential equations your solving where the roots are the critical points. I like to truely understand the connection from elliptical curves and there elliptical functions. As most of the books on elliptical curves go into height functions , group arithmetic , mordells theorem finitely generated rational points on elliptical curves , elliptical curve cryptosystems...etc (get all that ). But they start off at defining a elliptical curve as a function of the form y^2 = f(x) where f(x) is a cubic polynomial (basically they start of by saying here is a special algebraic curve called elliptical curves that where going to study never really making the connection to its elliptical functions/integrals.).... they never make the connection how these curves are related to the elliptical functions your talking on. I like to fill in my gap in knowledge on this as well as the below gap in fermats last theorem/modular functions. Anyway great lecture you definitely know your stuff.

Also, one guy's hair is a little long for before the Beatles hit it big in the US which was in February 1964. I was born in 1963 & in my earliest memory only hippies & Rock singers had hair that long. And a couple of guys didn't have ties on & that was not OK in Mass back then.
