Charvel So Cal Style San Dimas - Analog Addict Reviews
Any update on a talking review for this? I'm curious about your thoughts on this vs a traditional nylon classical guitar.
It’s a great instrument! Truly well built. I’d say it’s very similar to a traditional classical guitar, but updated. A little more playable, a little more comfortable, and it’s a little brighter than a lot of other nylon guitars I’ve played
Dude spent the whole demo without touching the EQ. Cap.
Sean on scarmyguitar builds partscasters strats that are as good as Fenders.
I subscribed, you do too, man
So i cant do this with an id14 since it doesnt have the return option?
@@BurnAre as long as you have line outputs and line inputs you can absolutely do this, however, it’s worth noting that the line inputs on the id14 aren’t “true” line inputs, because they still go through the preamp. So if you were using like a higher end compressor or preamp, the quality may take a hit because the signal will still engage the onboard built in preamp… even if you use the 1/4” TRS line input. But as far as getting signal out and back in, you definitely can.
But if its already line signal, will it still go trough the interface transformer? I know this is a bypass feature on the id24, at mic signal.
Having had Masterbuilts, Custom Shops and stratosphere builds partscasters, I say you are wrong. Starting at $200, you get a nice body, a nice neck (demand one) and a good fretboard. Then you can bet they’ve made molds of every metal part on a real one and often provide better quality in those than the originals. A fret dress, an intonation and a little more elbow grease and you’ve got a great gigging guitar. You say “the action is high”- dial it in, dude. fender always needs the same adjustment. Replace pots for $30. Replace bridge trem with a Floyd Rose if you must. Why I love these is Masterbuilts are now $10k. And buyers are picking them up, with no thought that a Masterbuilt is supposed to be a custom guitar built for You. Ok, spend another $30 and they’ll replace your tuners. Dig? And shipping is usually FREE.
I don’t have the same experience. At all…. But to each their own. I put the elbow grease in, but I wanted this to be an expectation setting video to give you an idea of what this guitar was like out of the box. And for the record, one year after recording this video, the neck was rendered useless, because the break angle became so steep that no luthier could possibly save it. When I replaced the electronics, I noticed that everything was wired incorrectly, which is probably why every knob acted like a master tone knob. Maybe I got a bad one, but I gotta say, this one was worse than the $50 pawn shop strat I got when I was a 13 year old kid. And worse yet, after shipping this guitar cost about as much as a new squier… I’m simply saying based on my experience, just get the squier. Squiers are great, this guitar was straight up space garbage
Thank you for the video. I have the Urei 1178 and Audient id24. How do I connect the urei and Juno 6 to the back of my Audient for a recording?
So just go Juno -> Audient iD24 input. Then take the insert send -> Urei input. Then take the Urei output -> insert return. Done and done! ***However, whatever compression settings you select, will be printed, aka forever committed to the recording, so be intentional about your settings***
I'm loving this! My interface is a Presonus StudioLive 32SC mixer. Now i need to figure out the outs and ins so that i can use my ART Pro VLA II stereo compressor the way I want to with my Cubase DAW.
@@jeremythornton433 hey that’s awesome! I’m glad I could help! Love the VLA by the way. Possibly best bang for the buck compressor on the market
Just asking…….why not the insert in?
Good question, the short answer is that the insert return is the “insert in.” The insert send is only to send the audio from the mic input of the interface to a piece of outboard gear, the return is where that signal comes back, goes into the interface
I’m keeping mine! They will need a set up and maybe a fret level but worth the effort. Tuners and pickups are crap but so would a squire and it would have that icky squire on it.
I should, I did, and it plays better than my authentic fender at 1/4 the price.
I have an 81 I bought at a pawn shop back in 1985 - black with aluminum pick guard. I have owned a lot of bad ass Gibson’s but always kept my Sonex.
they make great wall art
I'd like to try one! I'd write Fake Fender on the headstock.
Destroying your mic's are you kidding me? From volume?
Really enjoyed this breakdown!
Thanks for saying so! I appreciate you
Squire , epiphone, jackson are made in china . It depends on your luck getting one with a good finish and pick ups , just check feedback on qc issues. A guitar is wood , metal , plastic and pick ups at the end of the day . Just buy one , change pick ups and check wiring should be good . Ive got a gibson sg standard original and theres little finishing issues and the cellulose finish marks and scratches easy , the nut is plastic on my sg. so go ahead and buy a copy you have nothing to loose for the cost .
man i'm crying
I appreciate you bro
*This video has been brought to you by Fender* Seriously though, I feel like you paid $180 for this and are judging it like you spent $1800 on it.
I think I paid something like $325 after shipping and fees. Which at that point, a squier would be WAAAAAAY better
Shame we cant get them sent to Uk, can only find websites for the US
You recommended a used Squier, but they are probably made at the same Chinese factory and in need of the same laundry list of upgrades, mods, adjustments, fret leveling, etc. and you have that deliberately obnoxious big head neck.
It blows my mind how you guys defend the fakes, and I mean this with respect but you’re dead wrong. Trust me as someone who’s played 100’s of guitars, high end and low, this is one of the worst I’ve ever played, yet a squier will at least be somewhat playable, with useable electronics. This guitar was a heap of garbage. But if you want to waste money, that’s fine I guess
Squier have their own factories...
I purchased a Fender 70s Vintage modified Squier Strat. I had a setup done and changed the pickups. Great guitar, stays in tune and rivals my American standard Strat.
My favorite amp.
I mean what did you expect for $140 usa fender lol. With a little parts investment and tweaking it will be very useful.
Have 2 of these. The good: they look and feel great, the bad: the pickups are super weak
Maybe set up a room mic when you demonstrate an attenuator.
Byugera.
it doesnt sound good
I have a Sonex 180 Custom Candy apple Red that I bought in 1981 when I was serving in USAF and made a little money on the side with it. I had to replace machine heads because they were crap other than that everything else is original and in excellent shape I have babied it over the decades.
Hey Bub! Learn to play guitar before you demonstrating them. Just a thought
I give everyone one shot. So here you go: I used to play at the pro level. I toured in bands. I have something like nine records out with my playing on them. However, I got a nerve disorder that doesn’t allow me to play at the same high levels… but I still like to play and I like to make these little videos. But no, I won’t get better, I would suggest not watching if you don’t want to see it.
這可能是柳木琴身!不像黃楊木!音色更單薄
Its easier to buy guitars like squires in USA. In some countries its easier to start with those inexpensive ones.
Don’t buy one of these guitars - like I did and will keep on doing. Just don’t, let me buy them.
Yeah it's got that same shitty hum in the pickups that real Fender's have.
Where is the link to buy this guitar ?
this guy's hilarious.
A basic fret dress, set up, new loaded scratch plate and decent strings and it’ll be sick. What are you expecting for the money? Stick some time in it and it’ll be amazing
I bought one of these and it was garbage. The pickups were about 2K, tone controls did nothing and I was pushed to tell the difference between the switch positions soundwise. Body and headstock shape were both wrong, colour was way out and the neck needed a fret level and reprofile before it would even play. These are not worth the hassle, either buy a real guitar or don't bother.
This vid made me look into pricing me a Chinese Strat, and also the correct way to spell pretentious.
Check guys like Guitar Max or Steve from Boston playing these guitars to make a better judgement
Não tem tensor
I have one of these for my Bugera 1960 Infinium. I had also to put out 2 of the power tubes, to limit the 150W of the 1960 to 75W. Sound is pretty decent now, 'cause I can go to 11 without blowing the roof of :)
sound like crap
Good music man!
Surprised you actually get something or a guitar 🎸 from there with 100$. Even playable.
Guitars are made by machines now. Those tolerances are kept at a minimum.
