started fishing in matlacha in 1968---56 years ago. it was a wonderful place. the town and whole area were great. now like the rest of florida it's to crowded. tour buses stop there. good luck with your fishing.

I've fished the same waters since 99. Got my kayak pulled up into the mangroves and lost a monster too. Suggest: Immediately move out away from shore when you hook a giant. (Loose drag needed.) They will tire in open water. But those mangrove roots are cover with sharp barnacles.

Man yesterday I had the same issue! I lost 2 nice fish I just couldn’t keep them on the hook. I think I had too much pressure on them with drag.
I was thinking the same or the hook needs to be replaced. Between short strikes and not keeping them on the hook I was in trouble 🤣

@@Yaknwiththefishes239 the red with the most spots I ever caught was on that flat it had 23 like a year ago. I use clip champ. I got a lot of good footage I think it’s the quality I recorded in ever since I got the 10 I have had this issue. The 8 I had no problems with upload speed.

I wish that I could wear some boots like that for When it's cold outside but my feet 🦶 are so extremely wide that they will not fit me at all. Looks like a fun day on the water man. That is awesome man you fish a tournament. I tried to fish a tournament & Was turn it down because I was barefooted 👣. They say that i couldn't fish the tournament barefooted 👣. I have big very very Extremely wide feet 🦶 sz15 6E wide ( which is very very extremely wide feet 🦶 ) with very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot very very Extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. My foot outgrow shoes , socks , & boots when I was 18 years old & I told them that I have very very extremely wide feet 🦶 & they was seeing how wide my feet 🦶 & how fat & chubby my feet 🦶 was & that my foot outgrow shoes & i have to kayak barefooted 👣 & they say that I couldn't fish the tournament barefooted 👣 so i left. My co worker Greg was with me & he told me about the tournament & he was very very mad about that. I was too just a lil bit cuz i was looking forward to my first kayak fishing tournament. I have to drive my car 🚗 barefooted 👣 because my feet 🦶 touch both gas & brakes pedal at the same time because of how wide my feet 🦶 are & they stop me & asked me why was i driving my car 🚗 barefooted 👣? I say it's not your business why I am barefooted 👣 especially if I can't be in your tournament. I like your pedals drive kayak you have. I trying to get one myself but i can't get one because my feet 🦶 are to extremely wide for the pedal & my feet 🦶 keeps falling off the pedal because of how wide my feet 🦶 & toes are. My feet 🦶 won't even fit through the straps on your pedals because of how extremely wide my feet 🦶 are. I also like how you kayak barefooted 👣 because that how i have to kayak too because of now extremely wide my feet 🦶 are. I just found your channel & I like your channel man.
