FOW - 3D Cobblestone Road on Thingiverse
I think that in your first example at 10:00 you were half correct. The German unit can't see the Russian unit in the woods because the medium cover reduces spotting range to 7. However, the German unit is in the clear, so the Russian unit can see it because it's within the 20 hex base spotting range. Spotting is not always reciprocal; it might be that one unit can see the enemy, but not the other way around.
thank you, I appreciate your comment, i understand your point of vue and does make sense
Don't they come with bases?
Thanks for the Video A few points to clarify.. Infantry teams mounted in the 1/2 track get a saving roll of a 3 + if the 1/2 track is destroyed by defensive fire. 1 saving roll per team. If a 1/2 track is bailed as a result of being hit in the assault pahse then that !/2 track will be captured iby the infantry if the Panzergren unit fails to pass a motivation test to carry on the assault. In effect its left behind when the other 1/2 tracks fall back and the Soviet infantry consolidate due to them winning the assault. As a result the 1/2 track that is bailed is stationary so cant move away. and voila it is captured and destroyed.
thanks for the clarification
This video cleared up a lot of doubts I had about list building. Thank you!
thank you for your comment
im getting a 3d printer and i got to say ill be printing all of your buildings and roads they are simply awesome! i can tell you put a lot of thought into the design of them they look great!
Great video! I have been playing Battlegroup for a while now and your videos are still the most clear and concise depictions of the rules when there is confusion.
Thanks, I appreciate your comment
"Promo SM" 😁
no idea what you mean by that
how you dont see blitz useful for infantry? it gives them free 10cm movement...
very easy... I'm learning the game, I don't know everything, I'm new to the game and I'm trying to pass from reading the rule to apply the rules. The aim point for me for those videos is to place them on youtube and peoples who watch them can correct me or improve my knowledge. By the way I never said it is the only way to conduct assault the aim was to show the step of conducting the assault against a pinned unit versus unpinned unit Thank you for telling me about the blitz move for infantry. But I try to find Blitz order and did not the only think I saw is "tob speed" and if you use top speed you can't do anything else, meaning no Assault or firing after the top speed
Hi. You show a flowchart with green and red arrows on it. Where can I get that please? It would help me.
Follow this link and you will find the flow chart with many more helpful document. facebook.com/groups/237995539700701/files/files
Congrats on getting this far in the rules! Very cool.
Thank you
A useful guide to indirect fire in Battlegroup. I had played some games of this and plan to do more soon. Now I have your part 1 to 9 videos to watch!
thanks for your interest in my videos... I have one more video training - Unit Morale. Then I will start to do some Advance Training that will include, sniper, Assault, Engineer, Aircraft, Artillery Support request.... etc
Nice work keeping this going. Nice length of these training sessions.
Thanks, I try to bring them under 10 minutes ... but sometimes not to practical.
Cool
thank you
cool vid, thanx for posting.

You do really good fow batreps. You're a credit to the fow industry. Keep it up. You give me motivation and the ww2 group I play with use your videos for inspiration.
Thank you for you comment. I really appreciate
I’m still printing your buildings, I modified the plainer looking townhouse with some window shutters in Tinkercad. I recessed the sides of the building so the shutters wouldn’t stick out, then they can sit side by side in a row touching. I thought about doing a dice tower with a facade of a big burned out factory or building. I had started one for Adeptus Titanicus years ago, what angle did you use on yours and would you change it? I was going to try 45* to start with.
Hello, sorry it took me so long to answer you back... they are 45 degree you can find it on my thingiverse pages. www.thingiverse.com/thing:5646446
@@arcticfox8932 Oh I got it, I also started using your factory to widen and fit around it. The goal is to make it look like the dice tower was some kind of smoke stack shroud and the factory has been bombed. Then the first level walls of the factory act to corral the dice as they're rolled so the tower serves as terrain on the board! It's pretty fun messing around in TinkerCAD, I'm going to print it at work after I get a few townhouses done. Thanks!
@@Fortunes.Fool. please have fun... wish i can see pic of it completed. my Dice Tower was built to be portable and easy to move around. Will be nice to see something elaborate
@@arcticfox8932 I'll reply with an Instagram pic, I haven't gotten it ready for printing yet. I do this at work for fun and to teach others, I run 3D printing in a library.
@@Fortunes.Fool. sound a pleasant job to have ;)
Will print all of them! Thanx a lot for your effort!
I'm glad you like
Thanx a lot for your modular designs! I am currently printing them! I stared with cobblestone roads and Brick Factory :)
you are welcome
Thanks for sharing these. I've printed 9 of your buildings now, from single level houses to a big church. I'm planning a few more since you given us so many choices!
Thanks for your comment
Can these be printed in 28 mm also? If so do you know the percent increase?
I use cura for my slicer and I increase to 178percent. It should be the size for 28mm
Have you been able to print these in 28mm also?
I’m playing this game with 6mm minis and it makes this game more fun 😊 thanks for your introduction videos 👍🏻
thanks I appreciate your comment... good idea because I don't lkie those cheap cardboard token
@@arcticfox8932 I’m also using colorized beds as tokens (the same I use to play GHQ)
@@tacfamily14 I'm not sure my way forward but I Testing some plastic token to do the job instead of cardboard... I also don't like the token for infantry and other legs units... not enough details on the table. I think we should be able just looking at the table what are the unit on the battlefield... I can barely read the kind of tank as well
@@arcticfox8932 especially for “us” - flames of war players ;)
@@tacfamily14 Sorry did not answer you back on the subject earlier as I was still making sense of what you said... And it's not your fault... Sometimes it take me a while to understand. I saw the use of those I think in some other videos made about GMT Panzer. They use it to represent HQ and other special vehicle... Just show how GMT with great content are not able to reach bigger target ... extremely extremely overprice and very very very cheap product.
is this different from the older version?
This is the first time I'm learning and playing a game made by GMT Panzer and I'm starting with already the 3rd Printing... I I was trying to learn more about the game, most of the inforamtion on the subject is since the first release of Panzer very few changes as been made to the rules... They say few adjustment as been made for some rules to make is easier to play and the streamline the game play. But if you ask me to be specific, I would not know. :)
What are you thinking about this compared to miniatures games?
I learned to play FOW with the principle that you trust your opponent. Honor system. But in truth, you can't trust a majority of players... Now just thinking about playing a game with certain players takes all my energy, because I can't trust them and I'd rather not play FOW anymore, I assume most of the tabletop game, like FOW, are open for easy cheating. I understand misinterpretation of certains rules may look like cheating... I do interpret some rules a certain way, and I may be wrong... But most of the time I will say I'm sorry and try to correct my play. Even if sometimes I still feel I'm in the right, all for the enjoyement of the game I will try to with is rules, because like I said FOW don't have any rules they just have guidelines... No riules, it's open season for cheating. Really few peoples I played with that I can trust. Even some peoples I played often against and trust them, I start to pay attention when it is his turn instead of trusting him... and he is constantly cheating. So tabletop game is not as fun as I was thinking because the amount of cheating As for GMT Panzer, the rules of the game are very clear and precise. movement is counted in hexes which makes the game, for me, much more enjoyable to play than playing against an opponent who tries to cheat every turn and whom you cannot trust... If you are looking at the tools to play the game Panzer is a BIG desapointement.... There is some flexibility in the rules to choose if you want to play with all the rules in the book or if your opponent agree select the rules you will play the game with and could be as much fun to play.... But for me, a good and fun game is a game with some rules and you play the game as intended to be.. I have few more video to make explaining the basic rules and then I will play the first scenario... I intend to make a video after that on the overall game play and give my feeling about the game.... But so far, Basic rules are simple and make the game easy to learn and play. Because of the rules cheating is difficult, I personnally think it's a good think for a fun and pleasant game
Board games definitely are more precise than minis because of the hexes and easily defined terrain. Remember to have fun and roll those dice!
I just won this in a Pay it Forward! I feel I need to get right to combined arms fights…thanks for the help in learning
If this was $2 other wise I’d win it in a pay It forward too. DG4Life
Nice to see some hex and counter on the channel
thank you
Nice video! Waiting for the second video.
thank you
Outstanding!
thank you
Those look great! I love the detail on the roof. If we get a warmer day I’m going out to spray your buildings I’ve printed so far, then maybe someday find people to play against.
thanks it's appreciated...
Thank you for uploading these, I modded them slightly in TinkerCAD to print as one piece and just walls/roof to save filament. I really like the designs, as an American I had no idea what period European buildings looked like. My printer at work is very small so I like doing them as one piece.
Before making a design I try to find picture of older European house or even sometimes when you watch od war movies it give you opportunities to find some idea. as you can see in this link a perfect exemple of my french train station and where the idea came from. www.thingiverse.com/thing:5622837
@@arcticfox8932 Well I love the simplicity of your designs, I'm able to print them on my very small, basic printer at work with minimal changes. These are just for home, not tournament pieces to be photographed so I modified the roof overhangs a little before hollowing them out. Printing them hollow saves about 30% of the filament at work. Thank you!
@@Fortunes.Fool. Thanks I'm glad you like... Hopefully in less then a week I will publish another 8 to 10 new buildings with some mediterranean flavor, that may interest you as well
@@arcticfox8932 Cool!
@@arcticfox8932 I posted a couple of makes on Thingiverse, more when I get them sprayed and painted. I’m still printing a few more, posted them on IG and linked to your TV profile.
What size of table are you using? Thanks for the great content.
What size of table are you using? Thanks for the great content.
This is a ping pong table... so it is 4.6 feet by 9 feet.... but the scenario was 4 X 6 as you can see green maskingtape to delimited the battlefield and the black line every 1 foot
What size of table are you using? Thanks for the great content.
Outstanding! Will you design tile roofs for southern Europe? I like to play Flames of War set in Sicily and Italy.
I like this idea... Will have to look what the italian, Sicily and Tunisia building look like
Love the content. I have a smaller resin printer and the quality is spot on. Question - is there a way to ensure different floors line up with upper levels? Yours look like they match perfectly.
At home we have 3 3D printer, I have interest in a resin printer but I feel is quite complicated to work with. Now, to keep my first floor and the roof align with the main floor I print what a call a bottom plate. If you look this link .... you can see what I mean by that... the last picture show the bottom of the first floor from underneath. www.thingiverse.com/thing:5527138. Hope it answer your question :)
Well done, keep these coming.
Love the houses by the way
One question if firing artillery team are just one or two teams don’t they have to reroll hits
yes when firing ARTY with one or two teams you have to reroll hit. It's only the case when I fire ARTY using my American mortar... to make it easy and faster I roll 2 dices for each team I target. I may have forgot to do that on some turn, I would have to review the entire video to make sure but may have happen ;)
@@arcticfox8932 so much to remember in flames of war
@@jasonmartin616 and when I play alone... there is nobody to correct me on the spot :)
Great work as usual 👍🏽

Another great report :) I was going to ask about the buildings but noticed the link below in a reply. Look forward to the next report.
thanks
Great to see the historical scenarios. However, I don’t believe any of the tanks got off the beach due to shingle so could have been built in here. There were also loads of fortifications and both sides learned a great deal from this operation. I also understand the Canadians suffered horrendously and the Canadian PM rebuked Churchill threatening to withdraw his countries support following this operation but was abated.
2 Churchill in this area went off the beach... but were recall to the beach as they were not able to go in town due of the dragonteeth in entrance of the street. All Churchill that land none was destroy, but most of them if not all were disable because of the pebbles beach there were defensive bunker outside of town and around the sea port, but near the casino I spent a week trying to see picture of bunker or tobruk machine gun... and did not see any... be the 2 others beach were the Canadian land there were few. yes the Canadians lost a lot a men and had more then half capture by the German.... Mountbatten who was in charge of the Operation was sent somewhere else after DIeppe. By history British never really fight the tough fight but have is colony doing the tough fight and them picking the glory when it's time.... In Africa the Australian and in Europe the Canadian... got the tough job and the British had the glory fight.... Low Countries liberated by the Canadian and the British try to capture the bridge all the to Germany for the Glory... we saw the result in Arnhem.
@@arcticfox8932 yes one or two got of the beach but the rest were stranded. Disastrously planned and areal tragedy for the brave men whom fought. Some British with the commando were there along with some marines but you are right the brunt were Canadians. Shocking casualties . Also 30 vessels and I believe over a hundred aircraft
@@militarywargaming7840 500 Americans were part of the landing... I had an Uncle who participate at Dieppe... He was lucky to be able to get back in England on that day... but he was injured during the battle.
Oh, and where did you get those buildings?
I create most of the building you see on the table... www.thingiverse.com/arctic_fox/designs
