My sister married an Edo man and my husband told me they are subgroup of Yoruba. This coincides with what you said. When you look at Africans overall no race on earth has so many ethnic groups and that’s because it took many thousands of years for all of these groups to because separate and different. Your logic makes great sense. However I’m not sure about the Igbo. Also Judaism is a religion not an ethnic group. They created a dna profile for them.

Igbo is an older civilization than Yoruba Determining whether the Yoruba civilization of Ife or the Igbo civilization is older depends on the context and the aspects being compared. Both civilizations are ancient and have deep roots in the history of West Africa. Here's an analysis based on archaeological, historical, and cultural evidence. ChatGPT You said: Historic connections between ife and igbos ChatGPT said: ChatGPT The historic connections between the Yoruba people of Ife and the Igbo people of southeastern Nigeria are rooted in both oral traditions and shared cultural elements. These connections are important to understanding the broader history of the region, as both groups have been influential in shaping the cultural and political landscape of Nigeria. Here are some key points highlighting these connections: 1. Oral Traditions and Mythology Oduduwa and Eri Legends: In Yoruba mythology, Oduduwa is regarded as the progenitor of the Yoruba people, particularly in Ile-Ife, the spiritual center of Yoruba civilization. Among the Igbo, a similar figure, Eri, is considered a founding ancestor. Some oral traditions suggest that Eri and Oduduwa may have had interactions or that their descendants migrated and intermingled. Migration Theories: Some Igbo and Yoruba oral histories speak of migrations that brought early peoples into present-day Nigeria. These movements could have facilitated cultural and political exchanges. 2. Cultural Parallels Spiritual Practices: Both groups have strong traditional religious systems involving deities, divination, and ancestral worship. For example: The Yoruba worship deities like Ogun and Sango, while the Igbo venerate gods such as Amadioha (a thunder deity akin to Sango). Both cultures use divination, such as the Yoruba Ifá system and the Igbo Afa system. Artistic Connections: Both the Ife and Igbo Ukwu civilizations are known for their advanced bronze and metalwork, which highlight sophisticated artistic traditions. The bronzes of Ife and the artifacts from Igbo Ukwu (dating back to the 9th century) demonstrate technological and artistic excellence, suggesting possible cultural exchanges. 3. Trade and Economic Interactions Historically, trade routes connected many groups across Nigeria, including the Yoruba and Igbo. Goods such as kola nuts, palm oil, and salt were traded, facilitating interactions between Ife and Igbo communities. Ife’s reputation as a center of artistry and spirituality may have drawn Igbo traders or pilgrims, further strengthening their connection. 4. Political and Social Structures Both groups have traditions of decentralized governance, though the Yoruba also developed city-states like Ife and Oyo. Among the Igbo, governance was based on councils of elders, village assemblies, and age-grade systems. Despite differences, their emphasis on community and leadership by consensus reflects a shared philosophical foundation. 5. Possible Genetic and Linguistic Links Some scholars argue that there may be genetic and linguistic connections between the Yoruba and Igbo people, suggesting a shared ancestry or prolonged periods of interaction in the distant past. Conclusion While the Yoruba of Ife and the Igbo have distinct identities, their historical connections are evident through oral traditions, trade, shared cultural practices, and artistic achievements. These links underscore the deep interwoven history of the peoples of Nigeria, shaped by centuries of interaction and coexistence. You said: Which is older ChatGPT said: ChatGPT Determining whether the Yoruba civilization of Ife or the Igbo civilization is older depends on the context and the aspects being compared. Both civilizations are ancient and have deep roots in the history of West Africa. Here's an analysis based on archaeological, historical, and cultural evidence: Igbo Civilization Igbo Ukwu Archaeological Site: The Igbo Ukwu civilization, located in present-day southeastern Nigeria, dates back to at least the 9th century CE. This archaeological site reveals advanced metallurgy, intricate bronze works, and evidence of a sophisticated social and trade system. Oral Traditions: Igbo oral history suggests the existence of ancient communities long before recorded history. The figure of Eri, considered a founding ancestor, is central to Igbo mythology, but the exact timeline of Eri's existence is not clear. Ife (Yoruba Civilization) Ife's Archaeological and Historical Significance: Ile-Ife, regarded as the spiritual and cultural heart of the Yoruba, is often dated to around the 11th to 12th centuries CE, based on archaeological evidence such as the famous Ife bronze and terracotta sculptures. Mythology and Oral Traditions: Yoruba oral traditions claim that Oduduwa founded Ife as the cradle of Yoruba civilization. However, these traditions are not tied to specific historical dates. Comparative Analysis Archaeological Evidence: The Igbo Ukwu civilization appears older than the earliest material evidence from Ife, as it dates back to the 9th century, whereas the renowned Ife bronzes and urban structures are typically dated to the 11th or 12th century. Cultural Continuity: Both groups likely have roots extending far deeper into prehistory, with early human settlements in their respective regions. It is challenging to pinpoint which group established a "civilization" first, as the definitions of civilization can vary. Trade and Interaction: Both civilizations were part of a broader West African cultural and trade network, influencing and interacting with one another over centuries. Conclusion If considering archaeological evidence alone, the Igbo Ukwu civilization predates the recorded artifacts from Ife. However, both groups have ancient, possibly interrelated origins that stretch back far before written or archaeological records, making it difficult to definitively state which is older. Both are cornerstones of Nigeria’s rich history.. in less than 5 minutes of checking you see this. I am not ibo or Yoruba I am edo. I even did it for Benin. They are way older. Just as I counter Benin to respect ife. I urge you people to respect ibo. The beads you claim originated from ife are a lie. The ibos were manufacturing beads in the 4th and 5 th century. The Yoruba incursion appears to be more recent than ibo into the region.

Ekaladeran or whatever they're saying is a big lie and BS. Oduduwa had one son, called Okanbi and Okanbi had seven kids of which Oranmiyan is not even one of them. Oduduwa era was in 8 century while Oranmiyan was 12 century. That's about 400 years difference. Oranmiyan was actually one of Obalufon sons, never in Oduduwa lineage. Obalufon was the king at Ile Ife when Oranmiyan went to Igodomigodo to help defeat whoever causing commotions there then

He was trying to commit suicide when he couldn't reach home and he couldn't pay his school fees. The English man happened to meet him where he was rescued. He then gave him the scholarship to Eton college. I was given this history in England.
