Lalolagi (Lalo-Lagi) means “Under Heaven” which is the Sāmoan way of addressing our world which is beneath heaven. “Lalo” means “down” but can also mean “under”when coupled with other words. So, just like the fictional underworld in this movie being called “Lalotai”, the name means “under the sea” which the underworld is literally depicted as being beneath the ocean.

Because I disagree, and that's okay! Brad Pitt's Troy vastly misrepresented Achilles and changed much from its source material of The Iliad. Achilles was mentioned in Disney's Hercules, which represented him far truer than Hollywood would ever dare to, and he was just a stone statue that Philoctetes destroyed within seconds merely as a reference point for weaknesses and his own failures as teacher. Meanwhile in Supergiant's game, Hades, many facets of Achilles and even Patroclus, and the legend that entwines the both of them - are explored in a very unique and hands-on manner, with quite amazing dialogue performances. If Achilles existed in more pieces of media that I myself spent the time to enjoy, I would have included them as well, with pride! You are certainly welcome to watch a different video, or make your own, yet I chose all these sources because they were familiar to me, readily available, and well-known.

He also spent a large portion of his younger life before the war crossdressing as a young woman/dancer where he had a child, he was shown the art of music, medicine, self control and prowess by the greatest and only civil centaur alongside Patroclus, who, when he passed away, caused Achilles to grieve and sob so desperately that the gods heard him, and some had to intervene - He's very human under everything, if you know where to look and get information from, in my opinion!

@@ashfallenstudios Thanks for your response! I agree he is portrayed as very flawed and human (unlike some of the movies and cartoons where it seems he is basically Sir Galahad). Sure he cried for his friend but he got his friend killed. I have not come across those stories of his earlier life (except for the centaur Chiron part)...where did you read the dancing part?

​@@MikeWiest Sadly, Patroclus actually got himself killed - Achilles warned him to stay away from the walls of Troy and simply keep the Trojans at bay, but Patroclus experienced over confidence and went against orders - Apollo blinded him and Hector used this opportunity to end him because he was under the impression, still, that Patroclus WAS Achilles, because he was wearing his armor and since they were both trained by Chiron together, they were nearly identical in ability/skill, save for the demi-god aspects Achilles inherited from his mother. As for the crossdressing and dancing, you can find this account in the Achilleid by Statius (and it is mentioned in other media, such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey, I believe, because you visit the island itself) but Achilles is brought to the island of Scyros where he is disguised as Thetis' "daughter" because she attempted to keep him from the war, due to fear of losing him because of the prophecy that he will most certainly die if he fights in Troy. There, he was hidden among King Lycomedes' daughters/dancers until Odysseus and Diomedes catch wind of this and come to collect him for the war, but even they struggled to tell him apart from the women until they both faked a war cry and Achilles sprang into protective action thus revealing his disguise. From that moment forward, his destiny could not be avoided any longer and he was on the ship to Troy.

@@ashfallenstudios Thanks! Yes the Iliad offers support for the idea that Patroclus should have obeyed Achilles to survive. But it also has a line that says Patroclus died BECAUSE he obeyed Achilles (near the end of Bk 16). In my reading so far Achilles is very callous about the death and suffering of his many friends, and we can't pretend he was sending Patroclus out with no risk. And he could have save many if he went out himself (Achilles) sooner. ...But I suppose it's great literature partly because it can be interpreted in multiple ways...
