nice gameplay! just a few tips, try to avoid doing raw supers as its very easy to block and dodge those. better to hit them up into a melee auto combo, get them to go flying then super. you also have z counters and sidesteps to fall back on if you feel like youre losing a lot of melee exchanges. great content. keep it up!

I love this game. Story lil liking and I don’t like they don’t have tournament of destroyers in at least goku’s story. If had to score it as dbz fan I’d say 9. If I wasn’t I still think the game would be an 8 at least.

Steam user reviews can be misleading... I think too that its a good game, but if u see anime kind of games or visual novell alikes on steam, every inch of them are 95% positive. All of the "tales" games, every pixel art games, every sex anime succubus ogre penetration games, every video game what have any relationship with animes are overhelmingly pisitive. So user reviews on steam are not a good starting point of how good is a game really. (not even talking from banana game what is a joke, overhelmingly positive too, etc.)

Really, they just cant handle consistently the 10 scale anymore. They cant compare and cant distinguish games between 6 and 9, and too pussy to put a 10 to anything beside Zeldas. I would advice the 5 scale as it is much easier the understand why something 3 or 4, than why 7 or 8, and the reviewer can be much more consistent through many titles. Like: 3 is the starting point, its the average, easy to understand, 2 is a little worse than AVG, 4 is a little better than AVG, 1 is a plain bad game, 5 is a top tier game, thats it. In this list even IGN could easily see that the Sparking Zero is a 4/5 game, better than AVG but not a god tier. Do you see how easier it is, than trying to argue why its 7 or 8 or 9? Just lets say instead that its 4/5, no one can argue with that, its shouldnt be that hard.

I played a couple of hours, and honestly the story mode sucks. Hardly any cutscenes and it skips everything way to fast. Plus, i remember the modes in BT3 to have a lot more features. A 7/10 is actually a solid score imo.

I think we all knew for a long time that IGN is a joke. I've been out of the loop on dragon ball for years now, I don't like fighting games either, and I've been playing sparking zero and its great

The problem with IGN ratings is it might as well be a 5 point rating scale because they only use the numbers 6-10 so it makes it seem like a 7 is bad when in fact a 7 is good but because it’s on the bottom end of their scales it seems bad.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, except it’s a hard disagree for me when you said that 7 means slightly above average. Too many people think that 5 out of 10 is like dogshit, horrible trash… but 5 means Average. It’s not like it’s schoolwork that’s being graded, where generally 80% (8/10) is just passing. 6 is straight up Above Average, and so when 7GN gives great games 7’s, at face value- I don’t really blame them. It’s only after seeing the points they make, like “too much water, 7/10” that it gets frustrating. If anything, they made 7 seem like the average, and should be giving more of them a 5 instead. TL;DR: 7 is Great, just not one of a kind or a masterpiece, and certainly not perfect. And despite 7GN’s dogshit judgement, maybe 7 isn’t horribly off this time.

As much as a disagree with IGN reviews, I am someone who has followed dragon ball from the early 2000's all up until the end of super, and really enjoyed the original BT games. Im by no means an expert or professional player but i have a couple issues with the new release. Its missing characters that should be there, as theyve appeared in the past games. Costumes are very limited in their use and many are being saved for future DLC as cut content that many modders are finding in the game files. The story mode isnt completely animated, and while im not expecting something at the level of Kakarot (a 60$ game) they could have done much more with it than what ended up on the table for a 70$ game. That being said, the game mechanics, gameplay, fighting animations, and character dialogue is top tier and ive really had a lot of fun during the matchmaking and tournament modes. Its a solid 7/10 from me too.

Would you like to play this game with patch 2.22 it balanced and also there a lot of new things for all fractions. It is also kinda hard cause ai in this game kinda weak even hard ai but in patch 2.22 it increases a hardness of this game to make more balanced.

Honestly, 7/10 is about right. Sparking zero has too many downgrades from BT3 to deserve anything higher. The combat is good, but almost eveything else is a downgrade. The Tournaments suck, there are fewer maps and characters, there are fewer game modes, split screen is almost non-existent, the storymode is lacking, planets no longer explode, the AI even on Super is extremely dumb and just freezes for no reason

I think the game misses key moments that needed to be animated. Like goku and vegeta clashing for the first time

For me there is more to it than the story mode, you also have to take into consideration this is an anime game for $70 base. The local multiplayer having no other maps than the time chamber is lame, the UI looks like a place holder UI tbh especially the character select screen (sure it works but it doesn't show heart, even compared to other dragon ball games, but I do like the actual main menu all things considered its fun looking for what it is) Yeah for $70 I am disappointed to look at a slideshow in the story but I also understand this game has alternate endings and other characters to play so it was somewhat ambitious, but the slide show also being some prerendered shit that looks worse than the base game is just UGH. This game didn't really push forward and if anything took some steps back with local not having access to maps (BTW those who say it can't handle it on local it can I don't have an impressive PC and got a mod that runs mods and split screen and get consistently 120 fps I don't see why a ps5 or even an xbox couldn't) They must've been holding back to not put those maps into split screen so that we would buy it specifically for online? IDK? At least online is really good for what it is, no bad net code or anything. At $60 I would happily buy this game for my PC and ps5, but with some of the decisions its a hard sell at $70. Just some classic BANDAI stuff I'd say. anyways thanks for coming to my ted talk

Absolutely agree, IGN is absurd for giving it the same score as Concord. It's such a breath of fresh air to see a fighting game that isn't lazer-focused on "perfectly balanced" online PvP and lets you just enjoy the epicness of characters as they appear in the anime. Even more absurd how the reviewer seems to praise it nonstop for the whole video, only very slightly criticizing a minor thing or two, and then just drops a 7. Just a small note: I'd recommend looking into something like iZotope RX or the sort because there's a bunch of mic clipping noise and echo in the video's audio. Admittedly I'm listening to it in the dead of night in a quiet room with headphones, but still.

Sad that it doesn't work, but nonetheless a great game. And good Let's Play series

7 is fair considering there are no new grounds being broken here. Its a good Dragon Ball game that you have played before many times. Except now is slightly shinier.

Story isn't that bad, but the PvP is not balanced at all. Also, I know it's a 3D-Fighter but comparing it to Dragon Ball FIghterZ, this one (FighterZ) has far better graphics and fighting animations, and of couse the online-PvP gives a better experience overhall.

BT3 had longer story mode, and the reviewer has played the previous games. 7 seems fair, you act as if he rated it a 1.

Does the formations thing, where you select units and then hold left and right mouse buttons and drag the mouse, work in bfme1? I loved it bfme2

My favorite faction will always be dwarves, but sadly they arent that great in the second game. I tried the age of the ring mod and I like them alot more there, although it seems you have to play really offensive just because of how many units the AI spams

2:10 also if you have a melee weapon equipped for bulwark that is "fencing" its easier to parry...if you have one that says "blocking" YOU CANNOT PARRY
