Bells Beach to Apollo Bay 2024

The "Coastal Run" is one of the most spectacular flights in Victoria along the great ocean road. From Jan Juc to Apollo Bay the views and flying are amazing. It was another fantastic flight with Bruce, Hugh, James and Harry. Enjoy the vid :-)
Hang Gliding Australia - Ben Nevis to Rohans

Great to be back flying inland after a 6 month break. The Malibu 2 is performing beautifully and on this day we set a task of around 30km from Ben Nevis to Rohans old flight park. Wind was a light north to north westerly. 3 of us made it to goal, landing in a south easterly wind. Hang Gliding is AWESOME!

A Great Day flying at 13th Beach, Barwon Heads in Victoria, Australia. Phil, Curtis, Hugh, Chris, James and a few others flew the 5km stretch of dunes from take off to the Heads and back again (a few dozen times). Beautiful weather ensured a fantastic time was had by all, Enjoy :-)

Another great day of Hang Gliding with Nathan and Todd. Landscape is one of our lovely north of Melbourne sites that sits at the northern end of the magnificent Tallarook State Forest. Slightly overcast conditions kept the thermals quiet but we managed to find a 500 up that allowed us to go over the back of Tallarook State Forest and land at another site - 3 Sisters. Enjoy

Hang Gliding Bells Beach to Big Hill

Great day hang gliding at Bells Beach. 5 pilots, Pete, Mark, Gary, Bruce and James attempted the coastal run. The easterly was working well but the humidity kept the cloud low to the ground which meant it was too risky to try and get to Apollo Bay. Although we didn't make it, the orographic cloud that formed at 1000ft, that turned out to sea at Aireys Inlet, was great to fly along. Enjoy!

Hang Gliding at Ben Nevis with 8 eagles. 4 pilots attempted the Mt Cole challenge in their Fun 2's. Unfortunately the thermals were not rising to the occasion but we had a fantastic day flying with the local eagles who are all very friendly and finally landing at Warrak.

I've seen that phenomenon before at Makapu, Oahu. Sometimes the lift band extends out over the ocean at low altitudes NW of Sealife Park, way, away from the ridge. (Where is this lift COMING from?)

Worked in Portland for over 10 years and regularly flew my paraglider at Flaxman's, a highly underrated site in my opinion. Like to venture further east but as I was usually on my own tended to stay within reach of the beach, a great video.
I paraglided from there many years ago. Love your videos. And the music within one.

Bob I have a medium which I wear with a thin Kathmandu top underneath (extra warmth) and also a small which I wear by itself. I'm 175cm (5'9). It's a great rash as it has a warm fleecy inner layer. And only $50 plus delivery 😀

Beutiful.. how’s hg holding up in Australia? In the US it’s shrinking quickly - sadly. Less than 3,000 pilots. When I learned it was 7k strong
Hi V - unfortunately in Australia it's the same hang gliding is slowly declining but para gliding numbers are increasing. It's such a great sport and we need to make it more accessible 👍
@@jameswynd3253 paragliding here is certainly taking over but it still hasn’t reached the hg peak in 1980s. I’m planing to pick it up for hike and fly. Hg will be for the big air. Hope to one day join you in the air. Thanks for the great content

Hi tushar that's the normal approach - I think you could go a little lower but keep the speed on

this ridge has about 8km but the whole coastline of 100km is flyable with the right wind (sorry for delay in reply - been away!)
