    Completely agree with Cat. I’ve worked as an EMT and am now a nurse but I don’t know anything about water safety or water rescue. People keep asking if there were EMTs etc on site but unless they were trained in water safety they would not have been helpful in the actual rescue from the water.

    I am disappointed by this content. I typically come here for level headed, pragmatic takes. This podcast was full of half truths and biases. You seemed to have had your mind made up before you brought any of these issues to the "round table". Additionally, I didnt hear you putting forth any solutions, only adding to the divisiveness. Insisting that the PFAA doesn't have the best interest if the atheletes at heart is a ludicrous idea. I don't understand why you're giving them a hard time for advocating for athletes and I hope you rethink that so I can go back to appreciating this show.

    • @clydesdalemedia
      @clydesdalemedia 16 дней назад

      I am sorry you feel that way Vy. I don’t hide comments during this show, I let people have their say and I am not afraid of hearing differing opinions just like yours. The roundtable was supposed to be a safe space for those opinions. I have had a very leveled approach to this. If you have followed this conversation you will remember I said I want the PFAA to succeed, but I felt there were holes in the way they were organized. Turns out the lack of organization is opening them up to be questioned. I don’t believe they represent all athletes and athletes I have spoken with state the same. I want the athletes to have representation, I just want all their voices to be heard. Please join the conversation on the other side if you still feel that way and let’s come together in the middle!

      Clydesdalemedia is gone as a unbiased podcast. They are there to attack PFAA, disregarding any explanation given (NDA can just be dismissed so easily huh?), tell half-truths and distorts facts, and if necessary, makes things up to discredit PFAA. They make excuses for Dave Castro, sidestep the blatant and disgraceful lie told by Dave Castro to exploit a grieving family, and ignore the heartless way they treated Luka's wishes. Time to dump this podcast.

    And let me state, I am not saying their demands are right, wrong or otherwise. But I am not an athlete so don't know what they have witnessed or dealt with. And i don't think Brent and Pat, and the rest of the board and members, would just make shit up. Why would they do that.

    • @clydesdalemedia
      @clydesdalemedia 16 дней назад

      Looking at what examples they have given, they are all older examples, nothing from the last few years, until the TEF podcast when they brought up the Lake and the Heat. CrossFit didn't use the last the year it was brought up and the every athlete knew it was going to be hot in Texas a year before this year's games. the other claims have be contradicted by other athletes. 8 people make these decision and not all 8 are allowed in all meetings. Seems a little off to me, who has served on a professional association board several times.

  • @tbird7606
    @tbird7606 16 дней назад

    There would be no good timing on this. Brent and Pat have spoken about other stuff that has happened but those are not their stories to publically tell. It is not just this event where they feel trust has been broken.

  • @tbird7606
    @tbird7606 16 дней назад

    Brent said on Peter's podcast that NorCal contacted them to partner but there was not enough time to look at the whole event in the short notice so put them in touch with their safety and medical advisor. And people's assumptions by the fact the people didn't actually read the post is not on NorCal classic or PFAA.

  • @TheCluniesadventures
    @TheCluniesadventures 16 дней назад

    3 weeks is not enough time to heat prep, especially for someone coming from New Zealand or Australia or South Africa. The PFAA never asked for the events to be released, stop spreading lies on your podcast

    • @tbird7606
      @tbird7606 16 дней назад

      Right. And the fact they released the events 3 weeks out doesn't help the person from outside the US, book/change flights and accommodations if they felt they needed more or less time

    • @clydesdalemedia
      @clydesdalemedia 16 дней назад

      Everyone in the world, competing in CrossFit knew the CrossFit Games were going to be in Ft. Worth Texas and the average temperature of the location. Athletes in other countries did things to acclimate, Jelle biked in a sauna. Othere came early. The PFAA has been all about competitive balance and now that is has happened are trying to use this tragic event to move their agenda. Safety has not been at the top of their list. I didn't spread lies, releasing the events and the time domains on the schedule showed how much time the athletes spend outside.

    great point about how things may have been different if Rich had been competing or present in Ft Worth from the beginning...I think athletes would have looked to him for leadership and possibly be a spokesperson for them. For the Masters, I do know there were equipment issues with Rogue, as in Rogue not sending everything Legends asked for and what was previously agreed upon.

    Volunteer organizations like PFFA may not be perfect but people donate their time for free to try and make things better. People that do nothing and just criticize are hard to respect.

    • @clydesdalemedia
      @clydesdalemedia 23 дня назад

      When you volunteer to put together a professional organization you sign up to represent your body of members. All I'm asking for is transparency in who that body of members is, and were they given the right to vote on these demands. That tells me more clearly who is making the demand. It makes a huge difference is the demand comes from the 7 or 8 people who signed the document or if it was voted on by all Games Athletes and passed at a hypothetically 75% vote. My suggestions were designed to make the organization stronger, not get rid of it. But if you short-cut these steps you take away your own power and influence.

  • @nathanwilson6324
    @nathanwilson6324 23 дня назад

    “PFAA weren’t transparent and didn’t say why they want these demands” - did you not listen to the 2h podcast where they went over those things with very specific examples of issues with the current games team…?

    • @clydesdalemedia
      @clydesdalemedia 23 дня назад

      Yes I listened to everything... They never once say what athlete body they represent specifically, if their body was given the opportunity to vote on these demands... my point wasn't whether they should exist or make statements but are they following the parliamentary procedures that professional organizations should follow to be able to make these demands with confidence and the backing of the body of athletes they represent. and again I don't know what that group of athletes is. That is the transparency I speak of.

    • @nathanwilson6324
      @nathanwilson6324 22 дня назад

      @@clydesdalemediathey very specifically say they represent only individual athletes who have placed highly at specific major events over a rolling two year span. Brent goes into details. Agree they should be more transparent on voting and procedures which is fair to ask about but the rest of your claims of lack of transparency don’t have merit. Maybe the fact that you’re misconstruing interviews is why Pat won’t come on your show….

    • @clydesdalemedia
      @clydesdalemedia 22 дня назад

      Misconstruing interviews? Hardly! Why did Pat seem so surprised that Brent had a meeting with CrossFit around semifinals? Why won't they just say who voted that this set of demands would be sent out? Those are simple questions that they seem to be avoiding an answer to. and I am not oblivious to why Pat has not come on my show. He doesn't even know who I am, let alone my opinion on anything, but the athletes that do know me I have very good relationships with. So Thank you for your meaningless alegations.

    So glad I binge watched your 3 recap shows. Just watching the masters took a lot of screen time, but your insights on-site and Carolyne's pov are so great, can't wait to watch her at Crash. So ultimately, I'm glad i get to watch the masters. During the Games there is just not enough bandwidth for it, but it was such a headache. I pulled through and after 3 days cant wait to watch the final, but like 90% of people i know who wanted to watch, have dropped the idea. Barrier to entry is high, it takes a lot of clicks and a literal search to find the streams, the schedule, the leaderboard. The schedule on competition corner is off. It took me 3 days to understand why I'm tuning in at the time it says, but landing on the wrong division. I think very many people quit at that point. Btw if someone is randomly tuning in its hard to understand who's going. So on CC the local time is off by an hour, it says UTC-6, which is wrong and so everyone relying on it gets screwed and not understanding should they wait or rewind the stream. Plus until day 3 we had no idea which events are shown on which stream, that was also super confusing. The picture quality seems local comp level. The stationary cameras are ok, but we can't see much detail and they have zero stabilization on the hand held ones, and it's very shaky. The graphics are poor. There's never a clock on the bonus stream, never do we see what the division is, lane assignments... On the main stream when they do split screen, the clock disappears. I get that 20 athletes a heat is necessary just get everyone through, but it's so many people to try and follow at once, plus that split floor all the time, it's very hard even for someone who feels comfortable watching the games. And what's with the heat numbering going all the way through? See graphics "Up next Event X heat 25 (for men's 35-39)" is super confusing. Commentators are really the only ones making it watchable. Sean, Chase, Loren, Tommy, rest of the team are saving it, otherwise it would've been no better to watch online than last year's Games Masters “coverage“.

    In event 6 with the bike, Having to do the buy-in if you finished your cals but didn't cross the line is madness. So craig kenny finishing the cals in round 2, not getting through the buyin and so being lower on the leaderboard than the guys who finished in 3 rounds, tied with Gary Jones who finished the cals in round 3 and didn't cross the line is stupid.

  • @travistango1207
    @travistango1207 26 дней назад

    You're not wrong about the dilution of talent, sponsors etc. Also think it's important to mention. But as we know and if we take them at what they have said it was due to timing of when they got the events and availability of venues as to why this occurred (being at same time) And they have said it won't be in the future. So think that's also important to mention possibly. My one complaint really though as a viewer has been the poor job from the organizers in setting up the field so there was a chance at following along. (eg. Lane placards, weight flip cards, etc.)
